Great experience with builder, any issues were fixed right away and flexibility given to change plans along the way, highly recommend them to anyone looking to build a new home!

Lot of plumbing issue, I had lot of high expectations from Highland homes.

The whole experience was incredibly disappointing and stressful. The house had several issues pre and post closing. Our walk through was an ever long list of problems and severe lack of attention to details. We were promised a home with the same quality as a model home and the delivery could not be far from it. Our kitchen cabinets are uneven, doorknobs are falling and not properly placed, bath sinks have leeks, kitchen sink is supposed to be stainless steel yet it has several stains that do not come off even with use of professional products. I would not recommend this builder to anyone. It prides itself for quality, but it definitely does not live to the expectations. ... More

Had a wonderful agent who helped so much and contractor who is very responsive and timely with issues

Jared continues to be very responsive in providing contractor names after we closed. He was highly communicative during the build process in providing weekly updates and addressing any questions or issues.

Everyone I have worked with at Highland has been great, and the after sale responsiveness, when there have been issues have been great. I would say a couple of their trades are lacking. Small things like the front door knob falling off, while an easy fix, is a little frustrating. My one major complaint is on the interior paint. The quality of work is sub par, and even the lightest bunk against a wall causes scuffs. I believe this is due to the use of flat paint and also very things spray application. I have a feeling I will need to have the entire interior repainted, which is not going to be cheap. ... More

My builder Yale Burkel was amazing, he's the best around. One issue I am having is with the landscapers Daystar. They planted a dead tree in the front yard. Landscapers verified it was dead but have not come out to replace it. It would be great if Daystar can come out and replace the tree as the responsibility should not fall on the homebuyer.

Our experience with Highland Homes has been nothing but amazing. From the moment we met our sales person (Ashley) and builder (Shane) we have felt comfort knowing that this purchase was in the best of hands. Relocating out of state is a terrifying experience and these two individuals did everything that they could do help with our plans and bring our dreams to reality. We will be recommending Highland Homes to all of our friends/family.

We love the layout and floor plan, however, that is the extent of our happiness. For the most part, every sales rep and/or project manager or superintendent was pleasant to work with, but the follow through was lacking. The quality of workmanship and materials was abysmal, not something worthy of aligning itself the reputation Highland Homes has come to have over the years. Simply put, anyone on the executive leadership team would be disappointed...except for maybe the person trying to cut costs or save a dollar, it shows with the contractors working in this subdivision. In some aspects, we are heavily using the 1 year warranty to get things right, in other aspects we are doing it ourselves because we take pride in our work and attention to detail is of the utmost importance. beware of waranty repairs. Not as much flexibility in selection options as was anticipated

Sellers provided false information along the process and would not honor their word despite have pictures, emails and texts to prove what they said. It is almost impossible to contact people local and at corporate to have issues addressed.

The building experience from the interior selection process to closing was seamless! Both Carol and Tim made this entire process enjoyable!

For the most part, the experience was pretty good. Whether it was the sales person or the loan officer that was all a great experience. What was not a great experience was the sloppiness of following up on actions needing addressed prior to and after closing (entry light crooked, master tub faucet leaking, etc.) and the lack of quality painting throughout the house. We spent an entire day scraping paint droppings off of our tile floor just so that we could seal all of the tile throughout the house. I assume it’s hard to find good painters, but someone should’ve followed up after the painters finished and made them clean up after themselves. With the amount of money that was spent to purchase this house, I expected better. On a different note, all of the warranty items that I have requested action on, have been followed up on very promptly, and they have been doing a very good job in this area. ... More

In a heart beat, I would overall recommend the builder.

Overall Highland Homes is one of the better builders but their subcontractors are not that great. They are rushing through the work, making mistakes and have poor quality craftsmanship. The communication with the sales team could have been better especially when it came to moving the closing date.

The more time I spend here the more issues I find with the home. It is quite obvious that the builders go as fast as possible without attention to detail, resulting in imperfections throughout the home. One issue for example is that I find dried up paint on the carpet or flooring throughout the entire home. I have been slowly trying to fix this but it's an issue that shouldn't be there in the first place.

Excellent experience. I have only had minor issues since moving in and they have all been resolved very quickly. Definitely looking forward to a second Highland home to invest in.

Not the best experience buying this spec home in 12/21. Transaction was rushed, 3 weeks from contract to close. But after we closed, it seemed like everyone vanished. Sure, Highland sold their home and got their money but what about the after sale support? Warranty repairs weren't responded to in a timely manner...there wasn't much I liked about the entire process or the Company at the time. After about 6 months though, our home was assigned to a new warranty manager, Corey, who was awesome. He was instrumental in getting our warranty requests completed. He was a positive light in this transaction. We've since moved into another Highland Home and that entire process was awesome. It completely changed my view of this company. ... More

We bought our first Highland Home 12/21. It was a spec home and was a very rushed transaction. There wasn't much I was please about with this transaction and warranty items initially took forever to get fixed. It definitely was NOT a pleasant experience for us. Frankly having gone through this first experience with Highland, I'm surprised we even considered another Highland Home. BUT, the second purchase with Highland was like night and day difference. From the first meeting with our Sales Counselor Lesli to dealings with our construction managers, Matt and then Danny, we couldn't be more pleased. The communication was exceptional, we were kept in the loop though out the entire process. If we wanted to change something, every effort was made to accommodate our request. There have been very few warranty requests at this home. Those we have had are minor but more importantly, have been responded to immediately. We've been in our new home now about 2 months now and Danny continues to check in with us to make sure everything is still going well. We are so very thankful for this particular team at Highland as they alone have completely changed our view of this company and their products. Thank you Lesli, Matt and Danny! The home warranty was explained fully by your representative. However, when having submitted our varied requests for service through the website, there was NO, repeat NO, response towards resolution nor even an attempt to contact us. When after notifying the warranty representative, we have yet to hear anything in response. We are sadly disappointed since some of the issues were known prior to closure. Unacceptable comes to mind.

After we closed we were treated like enemies. Once in our new home we find the quality of workmanship very poor, having to touch up most of the staircase and wood work.
