The overall experience was pretty good. The builder was very quick at responding to questions. The painters could be more careful. The people who install the quarter round at the base of a kitchen island were not very precise in cutting it to the right length and as a result there were gaps between the sections. Also the flooring people cut a piece of the flooring too short so now there is a place where there is a gap of space between the flooring and the island in the kitchen.

Highland homes builds a nice home . But with that being said I have had some very frustrating things happening for 2 months now . Electrical problems. Still are ongoing .

Our entire home buying experience with highland homes has been on another level, from customer service to quality to attention to detail…the designer options were also very high end and we feel like highland delivered us a home that was worth every penny we spent. We would recommend Highland Homes to every home buyer in the market.

We needed to find a house as we had sold our house in Dallas and were moving to Austin to be near our children and grandchildren. So we had to take what was offered us. With the exception of getting solid core doors, we were not allowed to request any upgrades or modifications. The house is acceptable but not our dream home. We are thinking about purchasing a lot in Parten for Highland Homes to build on. Your floor plan is very nice, and we love the single story versus 2 levels. From our sales rep to our construction manager and even getting called by regional supervisors. Everyone seemed to have one thing as a priority and that was to make sure we had the exact home we wanted. They were so accommodating we felt like we had a custom home builder and took such great care that we had no issue in trusting they would take care of us. Even our realtor was floored by the care they took with our house and all the things she told us to look out for were no where in our concerns with Highland. We had high hopes given the options and level of detail when we purchased our build. Then it was delay after delay. Then a rush to close before things were finished, only to find out that key utilities weren’t even up. Only after contacting the ceo for the master builder did we get anything addressed, I blame highland homes for rushing into closing without checking everything, had we known we would not have closed when we did. I’m still dealing with finish items that weren’t addressed with the home prior to closing because it’s now MY responsibility, not theirs to deal with the subs. We closed 3 months ago. ... More

I love the location and do like my home but there were a lot of things left undone after close that took 3 months to correct. Prompt communication is not their forte. I am hoping a year or two from now I can look back and say I got a good quality home. It’s too early to tell.

We started a new build with Highland Homes last year while living in a different city. The Highland team made this process SO unbelievably smooth and wonderful, I truly could not have asked for a better experience. The sales team - Edna, Kim, Beth, and Janet were so amazing to work with. They were with me every step of the way answering all of my questions and ensuring everything was in order. Our PM, Jordan, is a complete rockstar. He sent weekly updates, photos and videos during the build, going above and beyond ensuring I was informed along the way. Anytime I needed anything, he was able to help, and also offered solutions to a few ideas we had. The finished home blew us away. The construction, the design, the products all exceeded our expectations. We haven’t had many issues since moving in, but the minor warranty items were handled easily and quickly. We financed through Highland Homes, which was also a very positive experience. Lindsay and her team made what can often be a very stressful experience so smooth and easy. This was our first new home build. After hearing horror story reviews for other home builders, I cannot stress how thankful we are to have had a such great experience, but also a strong confidence in the product Highland Homes stands by. ... The purchase experience was excellent. There have been some hiccups in getting warranty work scheduled and completed. Overall the customer service is good.

I am grateful to have Mike as my builder. He is quick to respond and help in any situation. He goes above and beyond to make sure everything runs smoothly.

First, I would like to say that Brandon did an amazing job with everything. He resolved all of our issues and kept in great contact with us throughout the entire process and went the extra mile to ensure we were constantly informed. One thing I would like to bring to light is the quality of the build. It seems a large portion of the build was rushed. Framing, trimming, caulking, tile, could all have used a little extra care. However, the good outweighs the bad. Overall, we happy about the home.

I will strongly recommend Highland Homes! The entire team is awesome! Starting from the Sales counselor to construction manager, everyone acted as one single team to ensure our new home delivered beautifully with best quality. Their time commitment is remarkable. When it comes design, changes, and opinions, they stood close to us to guide and bring the best value for our money. Finally they finished the house before their committed timeline. Highland homes stand beautiful with quality which makes us feel proud!

We are very happy with our home. It came out just like how we had imagined it. The supply chain threw a few bumps at us along the way, but Scott S and Colleen M were very helpful and skillful in coming up with solutions and alternatives to keep the build on schedule. My wife and I like to stay engaged through out the process to avoid costly corrections. Highland home allowed us to fully engage with sacrificing our safely. Like any build, we found minor fixes here and there, Scott S was very responsive in getting those polished up. Inspections were a breeze. We financed our home through Highland Home loans as well. I found a gem of a home that was well built, comfortable, and a fantastic value. The sales process was trouble free.

As a home buying experience Highland was able to answer any questions, great neighborhood and amenities. Some work was an issue in the beginning, but was quickly fixed! Overall, very satisfied with our home.

The friendliness and responsiveness have been phenomenal. The environment of community is beyond family oriented.

Recommend you go with a different builder. Our experience = we are the quality control for Highland Homes. When we bring up the too many to list issues on this forum with our home, we are told it will be fixed & then ignored. It appears to us that they are building to many homes simultaneously & ignoring the poor craftsmanship of their subcontractors after the paperwork is signed.

Working with our salesman, Hector, was great. He could be working on 10 projects and never miss a beat! Our builder, David, made great effort to accommodate our wishes-even when they couldn’t get our first choices in tile. They ripped a whole section out to redo tile to keep our original vision. After moving in, there have been the inevitable kinks. I’ve been impressed with every worker who has come back to make things right.

My wife and I recently built with Highland Homes, and they truly are an excellent production builder, but in this brutally honest review, they are, indeed, a production builder. Our builder was amazing, helped us with some custom requests, and the construction process seemed to go pretty seamlessly. The reason I ding them an overall star is for the closing process with the home. Nothing to do with their mortgage company, or any surprises, however the cleaning company they use to get the house ready for closing day was an absolute atrocity. We found window screens ajar outside, with some windows being a crack open. No actual cleaning of the cabinets / floors, and the 8k we paid in window shades was done, and it was just a disapointing end to a rather great experience otherwise. The other thing is the amount of issues that were missed during the walkthroughs, which I can take blame for. We had some water leaking from our master shower, we had a couple of irrigation leaks for our sprinkles, and a lot of nonsense issues that you have to call customer care for to have taken care of on a work order. They do respond timely, but to have 8-10 work orders after you move in just adds to the stress. Seems as though the trades install things, but don't actively test to ensure everything is working correctly. My advice to Highland is that if you have customers who are moving into $700,000+ homes, make them feel like you cared enough to have them ready. ... More

Everything from the purchase price, walk through, mortgage, closing, and checking in after closing were so seamless and perfect. They took such great care of me. It’s my second highland home and I’m happy to be back in one!
