We love the layout and floor plan, however, that is the extent of our happiness. For the most part, every sales rep and/or project manager or superintendent was pleasant to work with, but the follow through was lacking. The quality of workmanship and materials was abysmal, not something worthy of aligning itself the reputation Highland Homes has come to have over the years. Simply put, anyone on the executive leadership team would be disappointed...except for maybe the person trying to cut costs or save a dollar, it shows with the contractors working in this subdivision. In some aspects, we are heavily using the 1 year warranty to get things right, in other aspects we are doing it ourselves because we take pride in our work and attention to detail is of the utmost importance. beware of waranty repairs. Not as much flexibility in selection options as was anticipated

Sellers provided false information along the process and would not honor their word despite have pictures, emails and texts to prove what they said. It is almost impossible to contact people local and at corporate to have issues addressed.

My first highland home and it was awesome! Lance, max and Alan did a great job with our new home!

The building experience from the interior selection process to closing was seamless! Both Carol and Tim made this entire process enjoyable!

For the most part, the experience was pretty good. Whether it was the sales person or the loan officer that was all a great experience. What was not a great experience was the sloppiness of following up on actions needing addressed prior to and after closing (entry light crooked, master tub faucet leaking, etc.) and the lack of quality painting throughout the house. We spent an entire day scraping paint droppings off of our tile floor just so that we could seal all of the tile throughout the house. I assume it’s hard to find good painters, but someone should’ve followed up after the painters finished and made them clean up after themselves. With the amount of money that was spent to purchase this house, I expected better. On a different note, all of the warranty items that I have requested action on, have been followed up on very promptly, and they have been doing a very good job in this area. ... More

In a heart beat, I would overall recommend the builder.

Overall Highland Homes is one of the better builders but their subcontractors are not that great. They are rushing through the work, making mistakes and have poor quality craftsmanship. The communication with the sales team could have been better especially when it came to moving the closing date.

The more time I spend here the more issues I find with the home. It is quite obvious that the builders go as fast as possible without attention to detail, resulting in imperfections throughout the home. One issue for example is that I find dried up paint on the carpet or flooring throughout the entire home. I have been slowly trying to fix this but it's an issue that shouldn't be there in the first place.

Excellent experience. I have only had minor issues since moving in and they have all been resolved very quickly. Definitely looking forward to a second Highland home to invest in.

Not the best experience buying this spec home in 12/21. Transaction was rushed, 3 weeks from contract to close. But after we closed, it seemed like everyone vanished. Sure, Highland sold their home and got their money but what about the after sale support? Warranty repairs weren't responded to in a timely manner...there wasn't much I liked about the entire process or the Company at the time. After about 6 months though, our home was assigned to a new warranty manager, Corey, who was awesome. He was instrumental in getting our warranty requests completed. He was a positive light in this transaction. We've since moved into another Highland Home and that entire process was awesome. It completely changed my view of this company. ... More

We bought our first Highland Home 12/21. It was a spec home and was a very rushed transaction. There wasn't much I was please about with this transaction and warranty items initially took forever to get fixed. It definitely was NOT a pleasant experience for us. Frankly having gone through this first experience with Highland, I'm surprised we even considered another Highland Home. BUT, the second purchase with Highland was like night and day difference. From the first meeting with our Sales Counselor Lesli to dealings with our construction managers, Matt and then Danny, we couldn't be more pleased. The communication was exceptional, we were kept in the loop though out the entire process. If we wanted to change something, every effort was made to accommodate our request. There have been very few warranty requests at this home. Those we have had are minor but more importantly, have been responded to immediately. We've been in our new home now about 2 months now and Danny continues to check in with us to make sure everything is still going well. We are so very thankful for this particular team at Highland as they alone have completely changed our view of this company and their products. Thank you Lesli, Matt and Danny! The home warranty was explained fully by your representative. However, when having submitted our varied requests for service through the website, there was NO, repeat NO, response towards resolution nor even an attempt to contact us. When after notifying the warranty representative, we have yet to hear anything in response. We are sadly disappointed since some of the issues were known prior to closure. Unacceptable comes to mind.

After we closed we were treated like enemies. Once in our new home we find the quality of workmanship very poor, having to touch up most of the staircase and wood work.

Overall great design and high quality but there have been a few issues that have come up. Most have been resolved in a professional and timely manner or hopefully will be soon. One outstanding item that we discovered was an issue with the property line and placement of the retaining wall and fence. Unfortunately, Highland was made aware of the issue but never brought it to our attention. We actually discovered the issue while hiring a pool company and a company to install and whole house generator. I brought this up with Highland management three weeks ago and am still waiting for resolution or a plan for resolution. With how tight the lots are it is a material issue for us, but we are hopeful that Highland will resolve the issue soon so we can continue to get the work done and enjoy our beautiful new home. I can't stress enough the great design and overall quality of the home which is what made us buy it. Purchasing out Highland Home was an absolute pleasure. Pat was amazing and made the process a breeze. Hunter is fantastic and is always there to answer any questions we have regarding the house.

Cheap materials, extremely high prices not suitable for the final product. We bought almost 2 months ago and we are still dealing with the same walkthroughs issues from before closing time.

Overall, i had a good experience in terms of build quality and value for money.

My experience with Highland Homes was exceptional! Working with Rikki, my sales counselor, and Cliff, the Construction Manager was seamless from start to finish. Communication and workmanship was wonderful. I highly recommend Highland Homes! Plus, I really liked reading the history behind how Highland Homes came to be.

Tryston our building manager was great he did everything on his power to make my wife and I happy with the overall outcome of our home, the sales staff was very attentive to our needs in regards to paperwork needed for our lender to get our home closed early. I appreciate all the hard work and great customer service! I would definitely buy a Highland Home again!
