We had a great sales experience, the sales team has been excellent with responding to queries, addressing our concerns etc. Special call out to Lula who has been excellent to work with. Mixed experience with the construction team. Since we were remote, we didn't had the opportunity to continuously monitor the home. We weren't getting regular (weekly) updates on home construction as promised. During final inspection, we found several issues which were addressed promptly, except a few which were missed and we found them out after moving into the home. We were asked to raise home warranty case, which we did along with a bunch of other issues we found after living in the house. Warranty team has been responsive, but the speed of resolution is not up to mark. It has been more than a month since we moved in, still dealing with unfixed issues with the builder. ... More

Going in as first time home buyers can be very stressful, but the Highland Staff eased the process for us. From start to finish the Highland Homes Team was amazing, attentive, responsive, and professional. We had a great experience. Highly recommend!

The quality is not there~ broken sinks, shower door Leakes, toilet leaked but was fixed, missing paint on walls paid over 1 million. not impressed.

We are so excited about our home! The whole experience was fantastic! Edna and the highland homes team really cared about us! They made sure we we’re getting everything in the design of the home that made sense for us! Our home would not be as fantastic if it wasn’t for the time and care they put into it! The communication and enthusiasm for this project was wonderful! Then during the building process Josh and Jordan and their team made sure we understood every part of the process. They were thoughtful and patient with our many questions! They went above and beyond to ensure the beauty and safety of our new home! We are so happy and grateful to have chosen a highland home! Nice experience and we love our home

I would advise others to be careful with this builder. Quality of my home was not anything like the model and home has many design issues with many repairs needed again and again. Don’t believe the stories of company values and how they always do the right thing. They don’t. When you need help with repairs and general problems with your home they will turn their back on you.

The process was long (it took 10 months to build our house), but I feel that was mostly supply chain delays. I didn’t enjoy the design/upgrade selection process as there seemed to be little knowledge about what things would cost, and the upgrade options were selected over a couple month period, so it was difficult to know what our options were or whether what we selected first would still be in our budget when we were offered other selections later. We had some delays in the process and despite our best efforts, we struggled to get regular updates. We asked for a weekly progress update, but instead, we only got an update when we asked. It was eventually determined that the poor communication came from our project manager/super and we asked to have him replaced. We were very happy with the process and communication after that, and it led to a much smoother process. The fact the builder was so willing to change the super for me showed me they cared enough to ensure we had a positive experience. For that, I’m grateful and appreciative. ... More

It wasn’t a pleasant experience we were told constantly about the highland touch we came every 2 weeks to see progress and any issues. We sent pictures emails alot of issues weren’t addressed properly. When we closed we still had several issues and we were told they’d be taken care of 4 months later still all issues not resolved we were the last house painted by the crew that was fired. In the last 4 months we have had a multitude of contractors in and out of our home ( if they show up ) Still going through issues. Don't buy a Highland Home. Just don't do it - if you want to spend nearly a million with someone just get a custom private builder instead. The entire process from start to finish was full of problems over the course of 16 months that it took to build which inevitably also resulted in my mortgage costing almost double what it should have been based on when we started the build... And we even financed through HH loans because we were told we were getting a "deal" - also a huge mistake. If you expect anyone from HH to take accountability for their work and responsibilities, you'll be wildly disappointed. More on that later... The build quality I would rate below acceptable with utterly horrible craftsmanship. The number of times work inside that was "complete" needed to be redone is insane. They source the cheapest, unqualified labor and supplies, then slap an enormous price tag on it because of the "Highland name". But people need to know, at least since 2021, you are NOT getting what you pay for. Not even by a longshot. i.e. Our bathroom vanities are the wrong color, despite numerous efforts to have them correct it, they just told us to accept it as "the batch from manufacturer" - when you pay for a WHITE vanity countertop, it shouldn't be acceptable if it's delivered in PINK, it's actually visibly pink, because the rest of the vanity is clearly painted white. I don't understand how this is debatable. The bathrooms look like cheap motel rooms because of this. The number of corners that aren't straight and actually protruding from the wall at noticable angles, damaged and crooked cabinets, soft-close drawers that literally don't close without being forced after getting stuck. Garbage disposal that broke for no reason after less than a month, poor wiring that trips GFI, broken glass light fixtures, burnt out bulbs, unfinished floors and drywall... The list goes on and on. New construction like these just being built at the expense of the home buyer's sanity, time, money and mental health. We battled everything we could but it shouldn't have to be that way given how much Highland loves to claim they're "the best" - their slogan is "How trust is built" but I can't say I would trust them to even screw in a light bulb at this point. Highland Home Loans - I had to completely micromanage the closing process because they kept giving FALSE information and never paying any attention to details of the documents I already had provided. If you're mortgage company, your customer shouldn't be the one educating you on state laws to follow. They also tried to get personal documents from me through EMAIL. Completely unsecure and I refused to email documents that had my social security number and tons of other data over unsecured email. We finally resolved to using a secure portal which they should have been using in the first place. Additionally they failed to send the mobile notary the day before closing for cosigner in another state, something that they were fully aware needed to happen. Had I not brought up the fact it hadn't been done yet, we wouldn't have even closed on time. Overall, I regret doing business with this company. I've built multiple homes over the last 15 years with various builders and this was my most expensive one, but with the lowest quality I could have ever imagined. Over 3,000 square feet and the only good thing about the house is the layout (save a few poor choices on some doors/corners). ... More

This was our first home and the experience was smooth and seamless. Highland was very responsive/supportive in resolving issues post closure. The builder was very accommodative. Overall it was a good experience.

We purchased a Highland home in less than a month with Jack and Colin in Veranda. Jack was extremely friendly and helped us with financing our home. Colin was phenomenal from start to closing on our home as well. We did three walk throughs at my request and Colin was extremely friendly and took care of all requests. Even now that we have closed he is still a great point person for all questions & needs. Both Colin and Jack get 10 stars from our family & we would definitely buy another Highland home!

Promises promises promises and then there is reality They push to close so they dont have the inventory on their books and 2 months later we still hear excuses Horrible follow up

We love our new home. Highland soes not just build houses. They build homes. We receive a lot of compliments on its style, location, and features. The process ran right on time, actually we closed a week early! Everyone was great! Brad and his team with sales, Mike with building management, Highland’s financing and closing made it very easy. They were always responsive and fun to work with. Nothing ever goes 100 perfectly, but they respond and get the situation resolved. I highly recommend Highland Homes!

I relocated here from Denver, Colorado. I did research on the area where I wanted to live and contacted the sales team at Highland. They were awesome! The sent me information on the home as well as data about the area. Excellent assistance and communications! They also did a virtual home tour for me with they phone while I was in Colorado which help me decide on my home purchase.

Our home is beautiful, and we love it. The kitchen backsplash is a work of art, and the overall layout of the house is perfect!

The look and build of house looks great, but the fixes that need to be adressed are still been worked on from last 2 months

From the sales team to the builder everything was great. Couldn't have asked for a better buying experience for our first home purchase.

Sales and office employees were very "customer service" oriented, which was a nice change from what I've experienced in the past with a particular homebuilder. The construction manager is awesome and goes out of his way to accommodate and fix any issues.

We purchased a new Highland home in Denison which closed in November of this year. Since house was already under construction, and had fallen through twice, we were unable to make any substantial changes. On the plus side, we did not have to pay any closing costs due to the generous offers from the builder and lender. We were in the right place at the right time when the house became available, and we got the lot we wanted. It is an attractive house with a good layout, and the kitchen layout of out model has a good amount of storage. There really is not a lot to be critical of. I would say the Highland Homes has positioned themselves as a more upscale option in the housing market. With that in mind, it would be nice to see more attention to the small details. Some of the work was not up to what they were marketing themselves as. One design complaint would be that the master suite behind the family room and kitchen area has no sound insulation. Anything going on in that area, or the TV mounted on the common wall will prevent anyone from sleeping in the bedroom. Overall, it is a very nice house. Reggie ... More

This is my second Highland Home purchase. I will say that Cris and Spencer are both great to work with. They provide great customer service and are proud to work for Highland …. And it shows!!

Our builder Garrett is very professional and helpful. We really enjoyed working with him and had a very good overall experience in this journey.

The Highland group was very easy to work with. The construction managers were knowledgeable and courteous in answering our concerns. We didn’t have dealing with a sales team because we chose the house early in the construction phase, emailed the sales office and bought the home. However, that office was also easy to work with. I would recommend Highland to all who are in the market for a new home.
