Carol (Sales) was extremely helpful throughout the buying/building process. She answered our many questions on a timely basis (even on her days off) or referred them to the construction manager. She also worked very well with our realtor representative from Coldwell Banker, Amanda. John (construction manager) always replied to our questions quickly and on several occasions came to the house to explain different aspects of the construction process to us. He kept us fully aware of the construction timeline which was a big concern of ours. Excellent job on his part. Tim (construction manager) came on late in the building process and has been working with us on follow-up items mostly. He also has answered many questions in and out of the house and has been easy to communicate with on some outstanding issues. Doing an excellent job on those. Had a very awesome experience, I have nothing but praises for the highland group.

The craftsmanship and attention to detail is severely lacking, heavily impacting the final outcome. Just because a home is livable it doesn't mean the buyer should be forced to accept lippage in the tile, bulging walls, inconsistent masonry, and questionable framing, amongst other things, like we were.

I have been in my new home for 2 months and there are still MANY repairs that need to be made that were not done before we closed. But since we are in the home now, they are "warranty" issues. I did not have a working oven for a month because they electricity wasn't connected. I have had a mason come out 3 different times and I still have a hole in the wall outside. I have tiling, cabinet, sheetrock, and paint issues. There are walls that I'm sure are supposed to line up, that don't. I don't know how many appointments I have had for trades to come here to make repairs and there is very little that has changed. I work from home. To have people in and out of your home making noises disrupts my work. I went to 3 different Highland Models just to see how they look in comparison to my home and it just made me angry. They don't care about the owners once they are in the home. They are off to sell the next house. If we didn't constantly reach out, I honestly don't think anything would get done. I even had one of the trades tell me my complaint about a wall switch was petty when they came to make the repair. Needless to say, it didn't get done. I could seriously go on, but I feel like its pointless. It is really exhausting. I would NOT recommend Highland Homes to anyone. As soon as you ask about making a change to something since they have so much to do, they are quick to tell you it wont be covered by warranty. Debbie and Joy was very informative and helpful throughout the process of the buying of my house. My project managers Travis and Blake communicate effectively with the entire process, and very thorough at my walk through before I closed. The team continue to provide excellent service after I closed on my house. I highly recommend Highland homes if you want quality, professional, and efficient homebuilder.

We have lived in the townhome since October this year. We like the community and the design and the overall quality of construction of the building for the price.

Owning my own house has always been my greatest dream and it finally came true two months ago when I moved into my new Highland house. The quality is great for the budget I invested in. And my contact Mr.Clayton Coffee has been very professional and responsive when I did encountered a few issues. Great house and I am very glad I made the right choice on Highland Homes.

We had a great experience throughout the entire process of working with highland and the development of our home over the course of a year. It started with a great visit to the model home where the sales woman Edna gave us a tour in person of every single floor plan they offered. She was extremely knowledgeable about all of their homes and even showed us around pecan square. Taking that extra step and showing us instead of just talking to us about everything made our experience feel personalized. After signing our contract, we were partnered with the designer and construction manager both of whom continued the personalized experiences. No matter who you work with at highland, everyone is very communicative, honest and upfront. Although their floor plans are top notch, I t’s the small details that make a highland home stand out—the extra tall doors, the light fixture selection, to the quality of cabinets and well thought out floor plan. Every person I worked with from sales, to construction manager, to finance were all A+ in communication, information and guidance through the whole process!

We love our new Highland Home! We loved to high quality and beautiful layout, its perfect! Our Realtor, Kelli was/is amazing and has supported our home buying and move in from start to finish...she is a gem! We had a few one off's that were corrected immediately, however there were a few challenges with the large picture windows that needed them to be completely reframed and replaced. We are awaiting that to be scheduled, now that we know the issue. The construction manager is very friendly, however limited on his availability to assist timely or be present to ensure the communication with the contractor(s) on the issue is resolved with minimal impact to our time. Sadly, my experience with Highland has been very unfavorable. I can not recommend them. I’ve been in my home for 2.5 months and am still having workers out every week to install missing items and repairing faulty work.

I would buy my Highland home all over again. My only complaint is that our brand new home was filthy. I had to clean/scrub everything before I could put anything away. Huge hunks of construction debris on top of cabinets etc. I cleaned until my hands ached.

Building a home with Highland Homes has been a great experience for us. Despite all the supply chain issues, our project stayed on track and our builder, Chris, was very responsive to our questions and to any issues which arose. We love our new home, and we’re pleased with the options and upgrades we chose. We have a few minor issues, but having built a home before, we know those are to be expected and we have every confidence they will be addressed by Chris and his great team of sub contractors.

My experience in purchasing a home with HighLands homes has been exceptional with the Sales rep. at WoodForest however not so well since the workmanship and quality build has been very poor and am highly dissatisfied since the many sub contractors hired on lacked experience, quality build, workmanship, poor judgment. These contractors did not care about their job, they just came in to do the bare minimum and left to goto the next job. I monitored my home build daily. I would come on site over see the build, take pictures on the progress of the build and saw so many mistakes these contractors were doing, some of which these contractors should have been fired on the spot. ... Accepting the fact that building a home Post-COVID is extremely stressful makes the experience much easier, however, having a building team like Caleb, Austin and Almalic is extremely comforting. My wife and I are Blessed to have had such a team on our side!

On my first visit to the sales office, Hunter was able to knowledgeably answer all my questions- a crucial factor in my decision process. He remained responsive throughout the process offering design ideas that truly enhanced the home. I feel incredibly fortunate to have worked with Joseph as the CM from start to finish. The true test in any project of this magnitude is to observe how someone handles the inevitable challenges. Joseph was always the calm in the eye of the storm exhibiting professionalism and respect throughout. He was keenly aware that this particular build represented more than just a house. He instinctively said and followed through on the right things at the right time. In fact, I felt he treated this build as if it were his own. The whole experience has been great.

This building experience has been by far the worst build I’ve been a part of. This is my third build and haven’t experienced anything quite like this. We are over two months in and are still having contractors in and out every few days. The windows have been by far the worst part of the build. We are still owed one window which does not properly latch and now allows cold air in. We had several items that were promised to be taken care of before we moved in which were not met. We were reluctant to sign since they had not been addressed. We were promised these would be resolved within two weeks. That wasn’t and still isn’t the case. We keep getting told it’s the window vendor that keeps falling short. I have repeatedly taken PTO from work to make time for the contractors coming in and out. At this point our realtor mentioned we should be getting some sort of compensation or upgrades at no charge for all the headaches we’ve been put through. I agree!! The construction manager just shrugged that off as a joke! It wasn’t by any means! At this point it would just be nice to have everything resolved at once without any further delays. I would never build another Highland Home or recommend one to a family or friend. Our realtor feels the same! ... More

We relocated from DFW to the Houston area a few months ago and were in the search for a one-story home. We investigated the Cane Island community in Katy, Texas, and found Jason, our sales rep, who showed us a Highland home virtually. We loved the floor plan, but the flooring and tile were not to our liking, so Jason sold us their model! He walked with us and communicated through every step of the 7-month process, and we moved into our beautiful home in September 2022. Highland Homes has addressed and repaired each and every wear and tear or maintenance issue we've had. The communication with Jeremy, the construction manager, and Jason, our sales rep has been stellar. We've been so impressed with Highland Homes, and we definitely recommend Highland Homes to home buyers looking for quality, honesty and integrity. ... More

I truly wish I could provide a more positive review, however, I think due to the timing of my build/purchase, my Highland experience was less than expected. I was aware of Highland's reputation as a quality builder, positive reviews per research I did, and recommendation from realtor, so I focused on purchasing a Highland home. Due to several issues, I'm running into now, I believe the building of my home was "rushed" and that certain quality control mechanisms were missed. I do attribute some of these issues due to building demand and market conditions during the Q2-Q3'2022 timeframe. However, based on Highland's reputation combined with the price I was paying for the house, I expected a more positive experience. General issues included missed due dates for installations/repairs, lack of proactive notifications and follow up (I usually was reaching out to either the sales team or project coordinator for updates), continued unresolved repair issues. Part of the problem may be due to lack of subcontractor control and volume of business with resources being spread very thin. Unfortunately, I felt I was unnecessarily caught in the middle and that I was not a priority for the team hence the low rating. ... More
