We are glad we chose Highland Homes as our builder for our first home. Brooke, Amy, Justin, and Nico, were very helpful. They were very patient in answering all our questions and always were available when needed. They delivered a beautiful house on time. we'd definitely recommend Highland and this amazing team to anyone.

Experienced, caring, always ready to go the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction. I would definitely recommend the builder.

Builder made promises at the time of closing that they have not fulfilled close to 3 months after closing. Bathroom cabinets are broken, missing fixtures, unpainted items, etc.

Make sure you get a home inspection and do not sign for the home until everything...And I mean EVERYTHING...is fixed no matter what they say or how bad you want the house. Quality of craftsmanship is pretty bad. Work is sloppy. You won't be able to tell until you clean the home really well. A lot of things were broken or broke quickly after moving in. Warranty work is shoddy. It's all patch work to get you to sign for the home, no quality repairs or quality work throughout the house. Unfortunately, all of my neighbors are saying the same thing. Very sad to see.

Beautiful Development and community, my protect manager Bryan has been great to work with, every week sending an email to give me updates on the progress. I love the house however I been disappointed in some of the finishing touches and the workmanship of some materials, I know eventually everything will be fixed.

Overall great experience. Matt and team provided guidance and support with every step and kept me well informed on overall status. I am very pleased with the quality of work and responsiveness pre and post move in. Great experience, I would certainly recommend to others looking to build.

Our family fell in love with Highland's floor plans and overall design. It was different from the other model homes we visited. After a long fail attempt of trying to purchase a home we decided to just build a new construction. Glenn was great from the beginning, he made us feel really comfortable and we felt really good with starting the process. Unfortunately we had a major delay with CenterPoint, as frustrating as it was we understand it wasn't Highlands fault. What we feel like was Highlands fault is that the craftmanship wasn't up to their standard. The house sat for months with imperfections that could of been address instead of when we moved in. Sheetrock and paint has been a horrible experience. We are extremely disappointed. Sheet rock was poorly done, we had waves, lines weren't straight, uneven texture throughout the whole home. You would think since the walls are textured they would be able to hide how imperfect the walls were, but nope we literally can see where all the walls were joined. I would like to think after paying so much for a home, that if they can't get it perfect it would at least come close to being perfect. We've been to homes that close half of what ours cost and their walls and paint didn't have any imperfection, because yes we are the type to look for things like that. We have base boards and door trims that look like they have a bunch of dings and a fail attempt to patch it. My door trims around look like it has acne and paint to patch it up like make-up. We were extremely proud to have Highland be our builder, but now we wouldn't recommend anyone purchasing a Highland Home. After hearing great things about highland, I was confident in choosing them as our builder. The entire experience was disappointing and even now (6+ weeks later) we’re having to live in construction - after being delayed for 6+ months. The worst part was the horrible communication and the crappy workmanship. Having to wait 14+ months for a house and to walk in the day before closing to dead bugs in the cabinets, crooked walls, and horribly laid tile?? I was floored.

Lots and lots of issues in construction quality. Not working sd/co etc

We've had several things thast aren't pleasing but our PM has been right on top of them. Getting subs here to correct has and is an issue. Your cleaning crew, in my opinion, does not do a great job. We've been battling a floor issue here since the walk thru and still waiting. Getting closer but still not complete. Very frustrating at best. Your electrical company too can be frustrating. Takes them too long to respond if they respond at all. WHen one pays for this level of home, there are certain expectations. You all need to hone in on your subs and contractors doing it right the very first time. Am I disappointed in some areas? Absolutely!! I love my home. Everything looks really good. They are fixing everything I have asked them to fix. Reliable.

Highland has excellent customer service, but the workers they use will cut every corner and leave your brand new home unfinished and looking like a home 1/3rd the price. Micromanaging every aspect of the build is required and even then more mistakes are made. This is acceptable according to them in this current labor market. Wife, daughter, baby and I have even had to relocate to a hotel(covered by Highland), so they could fix issues, 1 of which was a HUGE saftey violation nearly 1.5mos after closing. Im sure Im just the outlier here as Highland is one of tbe best, but it doesn’t change the face that my family suffers after making the biggest purchase of my life. ... More

Quality of workmanship is not all that great.

We liked the highland home quality and their service. home has all the nice material used with granite counter top. One thing we are not happy with it with minor details that can be improved in workmanship like loose connections, visible gaps in some of the portion of patio which can be home of insects.

Love the house. A lot of small things needed to be fixed.

Although I love the house and the location , the overall moving process lacked in several areas. The exterior of the house is different than the one we thought it would be. We only found out about that later in the process. When we received our closing date, we thought everything would be ready for the move in date but it wasn’t. We did the final walkthrough one day before closing and noticed that there were items missing, like Mirrors, Shower Window, Door bell and Oven vents. Our builder did tell us that we had the option of postponing the move in date or have these things added before we moved. At that point everything was already scheduled to move in so that wasn’t an option for us. The day of our move in, the house was nasty dirty. Like dust on the bathroom drawers , counters, etc. it looks like their cleaning crew came to clean the floors only. Our builder did stay on top of things after we moved and got everything that was missing and communication was great! We know the market has been crazy of late and labor is scarce so we totally understand why those things happened but definitely wished we were told of it before that that was a possibility . Besides that, I would buy it from them again, but would definitely be more active through the process in asking updates. ... More

Excellent experience from sale through construction to closing and beyond

While we are happy with our purchase, there were many issues that will prevent me from recommending Highland Homes. The experience I had heard about from various people that have built homes before, was not one that I can say I have had. My situation is unique in that we relocated from NJ and purchased not one but two homes with Highland. Responses I received from home office were unacceptable and that is when I actually got a response at all. I have some instances where I have not received so much as an acknowledgment on my concerns. I also do not like dealing with a company that finds it necessary to bad mouth competitors when Highland, from what I hear is a very well known and reputable company. Our builder and sales experience have been impeccable. Both Kris (builder) and Lane (Sales) were incredibly responsive to our needs. We would absolutely recommend Highland Homes.

Overall my home is good, but the paint job is just very poor. I did use the entire roll of blue tape at the walk thru. Touch ups were done incorrectly and my experience with the painters did ruin my excitement for my new home.

Unfinished work Not properly completed work such as floors, tile painting Damage in many areas such garage door Kitchen cabinets doors, door knob Damage to walls and sheet rock Damage to paint Damage to garage door Garage door not properly installed causing further damage Shower door not working properly 2 month after closing and nothing has been fixed yet. Disappointed in the lack of attention to detail in workmanship. Builders rep has been responsive, but the quantity of discrepancies and the duration of time to remedy them has been frustrating. Some repairs have caused the need for subsequent repairs which have not been addressed. Unfortunately I would not recommend Highland Homes to others.

I have had a very poor experience with highland home buying process. I was very considerate given my home build process was during Covid time. The build got delayed multiple times. I was never informed about any delays unless I enquired constantly. Lastly, 4 days before closing, after I checked everything is on track, I was told they cant close due to some delays. I had to move to temporary accommodation and finally they agreed to close on home without completing all the items. Sales associate did not have any updates regarding the build and wanted me to provide lender details even without having a closing date. Regarding the build, overall construction quality was good but the options chosen at design center when unavailable, without my consent, something else was used to replace. This includes tile and counter tops. Overall, as a new buyer, I was left completely anxious and not well informed of the process. ... More
