Terrible experience- builder was not responsive and not forthcoming on issues. First building experience and it was awful. Love the house, hated the process.

Although Highland is traditionally known as a high quality home builder, our experience was underwhelming. In the end the same trades work on all the houses, so the quality is really driven by supervising the trades closely. Unfortunately that didn't happen in our case. In fact, I don't think we have a straight wall in the entire house. We also just discovered our kitchen island and related countertops aren't level. Those sorts of things shouldn't be issues from any builder, especially one like Highland.

We had a great experience with Highland Homes. We had a tight moving window, and our house was finished and ready to move in right when we needed it to be. Thanks to all the Highland Team for making it happen!

Overall, we are pleased with our new home. My wife and I do wish the cabinets were better taken care of and the house during the moving in process should have been cleaner. However, we can overlook these things thanks to Roy! He’s been very easy to work with, communicates well, goes above and beyond for us even post closing! He is professional and is always willing to help us with any questions.

It took about a year to build my home. There were several set backs. My final walk through I noted a long list of incomplete items. The trim was not painted or caulked. A door was not painted, no door knob. The front door was not installed, the cabinets needed replaced, paint on brick, outside light fixture needed replaced, pendent lights needed install, paint on flooring, caulking on brick, etc. it has now been 2 months since closing and these have not been addressed. I have put in more warranty request that haven’t been addressed as well. I was told that the contractor has 6 closing in June then he will start working on his other houses. My house should be priority. I already paid for it and it’s incomplete. I’m very dissatisfied with Highland homes and their craftsmanship, and work ethic. ... More

There are a number of areas where the quality of service needs improvement. However, the biggest issue i had was, there was a mouse in my home who seems to be living before us. Apart from that, for most of the issues discussed, I am still waiting for them to get fixed. Builder contact Scott is nice when we meet, but the speed at which the rest of the work gets done is quite bad. I wish some of these shouldn't need so much of follow up. Hope this review will remind about the various open requests: 1. Cabinet repairs 2. Fix the floor time 3. Final coat of paint

First off I want to say that through all the delays and issues the construction manager Mark has been wonderful. I have not been made to feel like Highland homes won’t make an effort to fix issues as they are brought up. Another positive is that Highland Homes has a policy that makes sure that once you place a deposit you lock in the current “price” so your insulated from price hikes… idk how useful that will be as the housing market is priming for a cool down… so maybe that’s a moot point. With that being said, if I could sum up the construction of our home in one word, it would be “sloppy”. It’s truly embarrassing and I would like to think that if a C-level representative from Highland Homes cared to tour a finished product, that they would be dumbfounded at the lack of craftsmanship and attention to detail that went into our home. You’ll walk through the model and think your buying a near custom level quality home but make no mistake — the same worker that is building 100k-200k homes are the same building 800k-1M homes and it shows. Bottom line if you don’t have to buy a house right now- don’t. And if you do, strap in because once you have keys in hand it doesn’t mean your house is actually done. Until Highland either changes contracted service providers or holds the people doing the work to a higher standard with more QA/QC nothing will be “fixed”. ... More

I really liked the communication and dialog between the builder and my wife and I. He was open to receiving emails, even on the smallest of issues. One particular issue was the color of our brick. The builder ended up bringing out a new color of sand which changed the color of grout and ultimately made a huge difference in the color of the house. Thank you to Trevor and the whole HH team!

For a new build it would have been nice if it was cleaned up more prior to moving in. Decent responsiveness from the builder towards issues although it took some repeated requests and convincing for a few things.

Our experience was amazing! Dustin was so attentive to our needs and resolved any concerns immediately. He made the process so smooth and we trusted him 100% with the build of our home!

Quality of workmanship and carpentry, extremely disappointing. Grass that was laid is lumpy and treacherous to walk on as it was not leveled or rolled. Paint drops on the floor, unpainted areas of home and short doors into bedrooms. We would be hesitant to purchase another Highland home.

Highland Homes took really care about my home and go to extra mile to make us satisfied with new home. For instance, they provided epoxy coating for my garage even cracks were naturally built. It was great experience.

The sales staff are really wonderful and helpful, especially Layne. I was under contract for well over a year before my home was completed. He was very responsive to any questions or concerns. My construction manager, Aaron is also great. He kept me updated on every stage of construction. My only complaint has been the overall sloppiness of many of the subcontractors. There were paint splatters/drips everywhere on every surface, construction debris left in the yard, landscapers installing grass and flower beds over debris and rocks, scratches on several windows, etc. Aaron is continuing to have the subs come and most of these issues are slowly getting corrected. It was great experience with highland homes.they are using quality products with luxury and stylish homes.

Our home is quality built and is architecturally interesting; definitely not a cookie cutter home. Our salesman (DuWayne) and our site supervisor (Justin) were very responsive and accommodating to our needs.

I will leave it very short and simple. If Highland really cares, they will reach out to me for details. It is a VERY GOOD thing they had a pandemic to blame for each and every failure that came to pass on this build. In my opinion, it is only about making money for them with no care to the buyer and it is built into the contract to ensure that. If you chose to buy from Highland, invest in personal lubricant stock first.

Highland homes delivers a great home, everything is smooth and went well.

We were a little disappointed in the quality of the work. It did not match the quality that we would associate with a name like Highlands. In all fairness, the construction manager has been very responsive to our concerns regarding certain issues with the house to make sure the issues have been resolved.

If you value great customer service and having your questions and concerns addressed in a timely manner, then you will want to purchase a Highland Home. Christy, Evan, and Cheryl were always on the same page. This is the 5th new build I have bought. Highland is by far the best builder I have done business with.

This builder is a step above the rest. Superior floorplans and design options. Higher quality finishes. Beautiful elevations.
