Overall it was a good experience. My wife and I enjoyed the people we worked with as they were friendly, responsive, and respectful. We would buy a Highland home again, but we would watch the building process a lot more closely along the way. I feel they are experiencing labor issues with their contractors and overall workmanship was lacking when it comes to fine details. For example small things being missed, paint and caulking just looks sloppy in areas, etc. Closing ended up being a mad dash to get everything done as the house wasn't ready. This probably contributed to the fine details being sloppy. The overall quality of the materials is great and we love the floor plan. We are very happy with our purchase and as I've said we would buy another Highland Home, but next time I would make sure I was more present during the building process. ... More

Happy with quality of home, a few minor issues popped up after we moved in, as expected, but they're being addressed. A little slow, but being addressed.

Good quality sturdy home.

Overall a great experience with building. Construction manager was on top of most things and good build out. With the rush towards the end we didn’t get the full ready to move in experience. We still have a few things that need to be worked on.

Edna was absolutely amazing from start to finish, we adore her. Our builder Lonnie, worked tirelessly to get things done despite the shortages of both materials and workers post pandemic. We are really happy with our overall build process. Would highly recommend!!!

This was our second Highland Home and the fit and finishes inside where not done as well as our previous home. We were not allowed to change much of anything in reference to colors and options. There was also a lot of trim and paint problems such as doors and drawers not fitting and closing as they should and fitting was off in numerous places. You expect better quality for the price point.

Our project manager, Keith, was very good. Very responsive. Our sales people, CeCe and Fran, were also very good and helpful.

The home overall is a great home. I had a lot of rough times with the builder with things not been done right seem as they were taking a lot of shortcuts to cut cost or either the trades didn't care. I have since moved into home and the trades throw their trash on the side of home, they have walked down sod which is nothing but mud now paint on my side and up against my home and I've said something mortar mix thrown all against home, window and A/C unit. Happy with home but not happy on how the trades not held accountable for damaging my home and leaving mess for me to clean up.

Overall a good experience. Was a little disappointed that some things weren’t done right the first time and had to have someone come fix it. We love our home though

Overall a good experience building with Highland.

Overall I am happy, however there are things that we are noticing now that we have lived in this house for one month that are disappointing. Corners cut and sloppy jobs make for cautious recommendations from my side.

Overall, we had a good homebuying experience. Unfortunately some of the workmanship was sloppy and not attentive to detail and involved a lot of fixes after the fact (e.g. all electrical switches and caps covered in paint, caulking issues, lot of spaces missing paint, uneven flooring, stair balusters covered in spray paint, trims around door and windows unevenly cut, protruding nails throughout the house, concrete in front of house is full of cracks and chips, empty space left between caps and pipes). My friend's Highland Homes did not have this many issues. We do recognize that Highland Homes has been coming out and fixing some of the issues. We love our home and especially the floor plan. We do have an issue with the low quality kitchen cabinets and countertops used in our home. Countertops easily scratch and discolor, we were told quartz was the best. The cabinet have paint peeling and when the tech came to touch them up, he used spray paint, for a home over $400,000 this is ridiculous. We do have a great relationship with our CM John.

We love our home and location. The only thing we would have liked during the build would be more attention to detail, quality control and workmanship, all of which would have been taken care of with an on site construction manager. An onsite punch list during the build with each and every contractor/crew for accountability would have alleviated most of these problems. The construction site was Always a mess compared to other builders in the area and a lot of followup work was needed during and after the finish to bring it up to acceptable.
