The Highland team, especially our builder Caleb and the area manager Michael, exceeded our expectations in many ways. They made recommendations in areas we hadn’t thought about which really enhanced our new home. When we had questions or concerns, they took our input seriously and were always available to explain things in ways we were able to understand. We felt informed and cared for through the building process. When our friends visit our new Highland Home they all gasp at the beauty and WOW! factor - you just don’t find that with other builders! So happy in our Highland Home.

Tony was outstanding!!! He was available to answer any and all questions and worked with me throughout the process. Through challenges and emotions Tony remained present in the process of our purchase of our forever home!!! His kindness and care and ability to help through difficult times will be something we never forget!!! We love our home!!!!!

Jack and Ken were responsive up until the day I received my keys. After that, I feel like their response to issues became little to non existent. There are things that need to be fixed or addressed. My disappointment grew after they passed over my keys. I submitted my warranty request and hadn’t heard anything regarding the request.

We got exactly what we wanted. When they said. At the cost they said. What else is there?

Process went well considering covid which made closing two months later. Quality in workmanship was less than stellar, items that were to be finished before closing weren’t and still not completed. Covid again? Other than minor things it’s a beautiful house so I believe we got more for our money with Highland than we would have if we gone with another builder.

1 - Sales experience was great. 2 - Communication during the build process was poor and items that were discussed during sale did not happen during the build. Some of the problems were eventually solved but it was a struggle. 3 - The structural quality of the home is great but some of the finish work was poor (paint, cupboard paint, caulking, tile work, clogged drains)

Project Manager and Sales Specialist were outstanding. Very much enjoyed the entire experience, and so pleased we made the decision to go with Highland Homes.

We had an outstanding experience with Highland Homes. They really believe in their products and do many little things that a new home buyer may not think about. Its really a completed home and ready to move right in. WE LOVE IT!

We had an amazing experience building with Highland Homes. Our Sales people Dolly and Helen and are incredible builder Victor were absolutely the best. They communicate very well and we never felt like we were not getting the info needed, and when there was any issues, they were resolved quickly. The only area that we were not pleased with was the use of In Charge for electrical, audio, etc. They were horrible, but that's for another review. Overall, Highland was wonderful and I cant see us building another house with anyone but Highland...and if we do build another Highland, we would want Victor as our Builder. He is the BEST. ... More

Garage door makes loud noise but been told normal which I don’t agree. shelves not clean, white dust from construction still on the surface especially in closets.

As first time home buyers we had an awful experience with Highland Homes Sales Team. Very poor customer service. Both Andrew and CeCe are very untrustworthy and very dishonest. True “Salesman”

For anyone looking to build or purchase a home, i would highly recommend highland homes. The entire home buying process is smooth and they will work with you on every part of the building process.

The devil is in the details. There are many details that did not get addressed by the construction manager. Lawn isn’t level lots of bumps which cause low spots when mowing, wood floors have hollow spots, grout in master, pencil lines on tile, smudges on paint on the ceiling and higher areas, when appliances (back ordered) were installed the damaged the trim and the wall paint, breaker for Christmas light flips back to the middle, kitchen drawer doesn’t soft close like it should. Had a seamless purchasing experience through Highland and am very happy with the home product they construct.

I reached out to my realtor in March and told her I was planning to build a 2 story. My realtor informed me of new properties that were in the process of being built in Forney. Ironic thing is that God had been dealing with me about moving to Forney to be in closer proximity to my mom. My mom had been trying to get me to build out there for the past 2 years, in the Devonshire community. Needless to say, I saw some of the 2 story models with another builder; but they didn’t feel like home. On Apr. 2nd, I had an appointment to view some Highland Home two story properties/models. I walked in a model and initially thought the model was a 2 story; but it was not. My daughters and I fell in love with the model. The gentlemen informed me that he had a home that had just became available that day. He took us to the home and you would’ve thought that I had customized everything in the home. Everything I wanted was already done, from the corner lot, the outside/inside paint and floor plan. I called my realtor and the rest is history. I closed on the home May 4, 2021. ... More

We had numerous issues with Highland. Early on in the build, our 1st Superintendent went out on leave for 3 months and we were never notified. The absence of a Superintendent led to major delays of scheduling and no quality control oversight of the work being done. Because nobody was in charge of the build I hired an independent inspector, pre sheet rock, that identified 50+ items that needed to be corrected. Highland did make good correcting the identified items, but at the cost of significant delays. We also had a bad experience with our 2nd Superintendent. He lacked in communication, professionalism, and honesty. He provided no oversight while work was being done, which led to constant rework and delays. Our 2nd independent inspection identified 40+ items Highland corrected. Over the course of the build we were given 5 different close dates that resulted in a 3 month delay from our original close date. After we moved in a Highland representative stopped by the house as a follow up. I gave him a list of 6 items that needed to be corrected. It took 4 weeks for Highland to schedule the electrician to come out to my house. I have my door scheduled next week to be looked at, but I have not heard anything else on the remaining items. Buying a Highland Home was painful. Through my realtor I expressed my concerns to highlands leadership team, but I was never contacted by anyone other than a supervisor. ... More

We couldn’t be happier with our new Highland home! Highly recommend!
