Communication and follow thru was missing at times. It felt like we didn't know where things were such as sprinkler system to shut down the water consumption. We've been in our new home for six weeks and some (not all) repairs are finally being taken care of. We still have an issue with the kitchen cabinet drawer broken. Design of home is nice, functionality is less than desirable. For example the kitchen does not have enough counter space or cabinets. Very tight between island and stove area.

Sales team was great pat and kitty. Home loan process was fairly good. Hank was awesome. Christi was helpful but confused me on a few items. Spencer has been good and responsive for warranty. Main issues drywallers did a poor job. Walls appeared bowed or sloppy, outlet cuts are huge when replacing switches with smart switches, the plates don’t cover there big cuts. Some walls missing texture. One wall had a soft spot but was fixed. Mortar/bricklayers guys did a poor job as well. Tons of mortar voids all over. Several walls the bricks are not straight and bowed inward. Tile guys did alright for the most part but could improve. A few backsplash tiles are crooked. ... More

The house is very nice. Every person I’ve worked with was a wonderful. I feel like there was some things that were too rushed through and was some visible. When I asked for something to be done, though, everyone listened and explained the situation and took care of what I needed.

Lots of ups and downs with finalizing the home. No fault or disrespect to the highland team. Michael was fantastic to work with and was very responsive with issues that arose and resolved them as quickly as possible.

The entire process was good, and I was fairly compensated for the six months delay. The house was exactly as I expected it to be. I am happy with the price I paid; it was a good value. Highlands Homes is a trustworthy company; they provided everything that was promised to me, I would recommend Highland Homes for anyone planning to build.

We’re very happy with our new home built by Highland Homes. The construction quality, design, and attention to detail really impressed us. From the initial walkthrough to the final touches, everything was handled professionally. The sales team was friendly, informative, and made the entire process feel smooth and stress-free. That said, we were a bit disappointed to see the base price of our floor plan drop less than a month after we closed. We understand that pricing can shift with the market, but such a quick decrease felt discouraging, especially after making such a big investment. Overall, we still love our home and appreciate the craftsmanship and care that went into building it. There were some miscommunications and moments of friction during the process, but in the end, Highland did come through and delivered a good-quality home. To future buyers: do not wait until the final walk through to start identifying issues - start early, while the home is still under construction. Be proactive, visit the site often, and keep detailed notes. This will help you and Highland work together toward delivering a more complete and accurate final product. Some details fell through the cracks at the design center -for example, the tile behind the mirrors in the master bath, which was not included in the final build (we assumed it would be, since it was shown in the model). Do not assume something is included, verify. That said, we had to reference our paperwork multiple times and advocate for items that were supposed to be included. There appears to be a disconnect between Highland corporate, the sales/design team, and the contractors doing the actual construction. On more than one occasion, we had to point out selections that the builders had not been informed of. That said, once issues were raised, Highland was generally responsive and worked with us to make things right. Aside from these challenges, the overall experience and final outcome were positive. Overall experience was great & process relatively hassle free.

Several construction items (Awning not properly installed above front entrance.) that required numerous contacts / conversations to have resolved.

Kevin in the sales department was very helpful and not pushy when it comes to choosing your new home.

I didn’t move into Paloma Creek. I moved into wildflower ranch. Ginger was knowledgeable and supportive throughout our homebuying experience. Our superintendent, Aaron was attentive to our needs and followed through on request in a timely manner.

My search for a home took some time but I chose Highland because my realtor said that they were the best builder around this area. Some of the choices in design leave me scratching my head but I’m making some changes there. My concern is the quality of the build overall. The home is less than a year old and it has several cracks in the bedroom where the ceiling meets the roof line. My neighbor has a jagged crack inside where the balcony floor meets the living room and cracks in her pantry where the shelf supports meet the wall. That house is also less than a year old. There is also a concern with the way my electrical has been installed. Loose bare wires in units as well as nicks in wiring were found when installing ceiling fans and dimmers. I will probably end up checking all outlets and switches to make sure they’re secure due to issues some of my other neighbors have had. These homes are being thrown up so quickly that I feel quality control is not being maintained. So far issues I’ve had have been addressed promptly except the cracks and I’ve brought that up recently. The entire ceiling seam should be redone. These homes are not cheap and shouldn’t have these kinds of problems so soon after construction. At least it’s still under warranty but what will happen after the year is up? ... More

Miguel (builder) has been wonderful. He has been thorough, responsive and patient. I feel that he takes my questions seriously and cares about the quality of the home as well as my experience in the entire build process.

During the first month I’ve lived in the brand new house. Finished building October 22nd, closed on the house October 24th. 1. Bathroom light stopped working 2. Shelf in pantry fell apart 3. Electrical issues from the front porch plug. Doesn’t work, even after I reset the circuit breaker. 4. Still don’t get mail here OR able to find on maps. 5. The design of the back yard makes it flood. The water drains in the back are not where the water flows through so I just have this big puddle and mud section of my yard. I wonder what’s next.

Well built home, but there are several incidents of "cosmetic damage" that isn't covered under warranty, particularly regarding interior of cabinetry.

The quality of materials are getting worse year by year, but prices are getting higher. Old houses was better. At least Hıghland still quick responder for issues.
