There were times when we lost trust in this location as far as selling us this home. And it took some rebuilding of trust in order for us to stay with them. Right up to the end we questioned our decisions to buy this home, but we did it and for our first home we are satisfied. I'll say if you can be here everyday during the build, make sure you are!

These guys really came through, in what was a tough time to build a house given the massive inflation and supply chain shortages. They communicated well, were overly fair in how they handled the issues and kept their word when a number of other builders started canceling contracts. Wow.

The builder, Garrett, was very responsive. Todd, the sales manager, did a great job responding to our needs.

As a first time home buyer, I had a great experience from start to finish.

The current market has allowed even the top builders to do the minimum because there is a line of people to buy the homes. We had an average experience with a builder that I went into with high expectations based on family in real estate and being a long time resident of DFW. If Highland is now ok I would hate to experience the builders that don't have the best reputations.

Both the sales consultant and the construction manager were exceptionally professional, knowledgeable, responsive, personable and above all they were great listeners. They took time to understand our needs and made excellent attempts to cater to our wants and needs. However, the overall finishing of the house and attention to detail can be improved significantly--especially the cabinets were handled poorly with next to no care at all. Paint chip, scratches, squeaky doors, unclean grout and what not. We got tired of pin-pointing and asking the construction manager to fix everything so we eventually gave in. It's a simple concept though - if you pay the full price, you should get product you have paid for - not damaged goods! Overall, we had a good homebuying experience. Unfortunately some of the workmanship was sloppy and not attentive to detail and involved a lot of fixes after the fact (e.g. all electrical switches and caps covered in paint, caulking issues, lot of spaces missing paint, uneven flooring, stair balusters covered in spray paint, trims around door and windows unevenly cut, protruding nails throughout the house, concrete in front of house is full of cracks and chips, empty space left between caps and pipes). My friend's Highland Homes did not have this many issues. We do recognize that Highland Homes has been coming out and fixing some of the issues. Responsiveness to work orders is poor.

Love our new Highland Homes home.

We still have outstanding items that need to be fixed. The laminate floor People blamed the floor issues on the carpet people and dull have not fixed my floor. A big hole was in the soffit. They came by and replaced the wood without painting it. Water was dripping through our room AC vent during the Freeze. Technician found no issues. Sprinkler system hasn’t worked since Freeze. Cabinet work had not been completed. Etcetera!!!

So many things are done well in our new home. We love it and working with Highland has been great.

Our sales agent and our builders representive were very responsive and supported us during the buying experience and after we moved in.

Thru the good and the bad the Construction Foreman remained calm and made the building process easier. We are Happy with our home. I would not recommend it to anyone ... only because I want to be the only one of my friends living in this Beautiful Neighborhood... we did the hard work of finding this neighborhood and the long wait of the construction process is sooo worth it...

We love our home and especially the floor plan. We do have an issue with the low quality kitchen cabinets and countertops used in our home. Countertops easily scratch and discolor, we were told quartz was the best. The cabinet have paint peeling and when the tech came to touch them up, he used spray paint, for a home over $400,000 this is ridiculous. We do have a great relationship with our CM John.

I went out of my comfort zone. I Bought this Beautiful Home Online! My experience from start to finish was Amazing! Face time helping me to choose materials. Builder & team friendly all that was promised was! Walk through with Builder was even better then I imagined! Quality & Value of my Home was everything & more!
