I think the finishing on the house was not up to the mark. We are happy with everything else.

When we decided when and where we wanted to buy we went to Pomona subdivision and looked at all the model homes. In our price range we found a great home by Highland Homes. Our sales rep, Miss Denise, was fantastic on working with us on our wants and needs. It seemed she was always available to answer any questions we had. I looked at several lenders and chose Highland Home Lender, LLC. We worked with Miss Amanda and she was the best person I ever worked with in financing. She couldn't have made the process any better or easier. Once our home was finished Mr. Cason, project manager, addressed any issues we had and was very accommodating. Not only did we get a beautiful house but we met some really great people. If I had the opportunity to do it all again I wouldn't want to do it without these people! ... More

I am disappointed with the craftsmanship. I wouldn’t buy from Highland again.

Highland Homes was great to work with. They responded to my questions / concerns throughout the build process. Any small issues with my home were fixed by the time we closed. The home inspection went very well. And, most importantly, they met the build timeframe we discussed at the initial sales meeting.

We closed on our home in October 2020. We love the design of our home and the location. Highland has great floor plans to choose from. We have had numerous issues during the construction phase and after we moved in. Specifically, we have had several plumbing related issues. Mustang Plumbing is the subcontractor for Highland Homes and almost everything Mustang Plumbing has touched has been done incorrectly. The largest and most egregious issue was that Mustang Plumbing did not connect our grinder pump to the city sewer line in front of the house. On the day we moved into our new home we had sewage running all over our front yard and driveway. The next day Mustang did connect the grinder pump to the city sewer line; however, they failed to connect the grinder pump back up to the electrical system. A few days later we had sewer gas in our new home. Another Mustang plumber came out and resolved the issue. Another Mustang issue is that they incorrectly installed our disposal in the kitchen sink. A few days after moving in to our new home we had lots of water leaking under our sink. Yet another Mustang plumber had to come out and correct the issue. We have also had issues with our "Smart Home Package" offered by Highland Homes. Essentially, during the construction phase of the house, IES (another subcontractor) neglected to install several access ports needed for the Eero wifi extenders. IES offered to retrofit the extenders but doing so would have required rather extensive drywall work. We declined because we do not want patwork drywall in our new home. Another IES issue focused on our video doorbell. In order to install our video doorbell IES had to remove several bricks from the front of the house and then a brick mason had to come out and patch up the front of the house. It looks fine, but why not install the video doorbell from the very beginning. All of the IES issues stem from poor planning. Advice to future buyers - insist that your wifi extenders and video doorbell be installed before you move in. It is a huge inconvenience having people in and out of your house installing items that can easily be installed before you move in. I write this review on January 6, 2021. Since we moved in we have had to submit at least 6-7 warranty issues to Highland Homes. All but one have been addressed. But I find it sad that we have had to submit so many warranty requests on a brand new home. Our project manager, Matt, has been very responsive to each of the issues we have faced. I do not blame Matt for anything. However, I strongly encourage Highland Homes to source better plumbing and low voltage subcontractors. If you are looking to buy a Highland Home, you will love your design choices and the floor plan options. Highland Homes look great. However, be very thorough in your inspections because I do have my doubts about the quality of the workmanship (especially the areas that are hidden behind walls such as plumbing. Ask questions. I have worked with other home builders previously and felt like I was in a battle with them. Working with Highland was a relief from that. My sales agent was knowledgeable about the homes and features and helped me find what I wanted instead of pushing me into a more expensive home. My construction manager walked the home every day during the construction process and held the contractors accountable for mistakes. I walked the home often and when I saw corrections that needed to be made, he made sure they were taken care of. Highland earned my trust and made sure my home was built well. My experience with Highland homes, it’s all about customer satisfaction. Every time I made a call or send a text at any day, The employees of Highland Homes at Water Scapes Community or even the contractor response is immediately. Highland Homes listens to the buyers questions and concerns. I am a true believer that if I have to purchase another home or built one, it will be a Highland Home.

The shopping and buying experience was great but response to concerns after the sale for warranty issues is a bit discouraging to none. This overshadows everything since a new hone is a life long investment

Kate and the building team were awesome.

We spent a good amount of money on our home and when we finally moved in, we were and still are disappointed by how many issues we are having in the home already. We have only lived there for two months. The quality of work is subpar. It seems like they rushed the job at the end and used subpar materials to get the job done. Perhaps they didn’t have access to the better materials due to COVID but that shouldn’t result in our home already have cracks in the paint and doors not being able to be closed and opened correctly, including the front main door. The tubs are already peeling. The caulking in many areas are embarrassing. The bathroom tiles that we paid extra to upgrade are uneven. There’s a lot of cosmetic issues with the painting they did in the house. We are still working on a list of things that need to be corrected. The issue is it’s hard to be home every time to have things fixed. But overall, it’s disappointing to have spent over 8 months anticipating our new home and still have to keep going back and requesting things be fixed. ... More

Laurie and Brody make a great team to work with when purchasing a new home. Both of them were extremely responsive during the build and quickly looked into and answered any questions we had. We highly recommend them and Highland Homes!

Overall the experience was great, due to Covid things got delayed but that was understandable and in the end I feel we closed on a pretty great home. Are there some things that the quality is not what we expected, definitely but hopefully Highland will work through them with us

Lindsey was soooo wonderful to us. She was always willing to help answer anything we needed and if she didn’t know the answer she immediately work to find it out for us.

Attentive sales, mortgage and builder contacts. The workmanship was a bit shoddy, needing some windows replaced and other concerns. There were a few items in hindsight that I thought should have been addressed in the design center that now we need to implement. Otherwise, fairly positive experience.

My experience started off great, but once we got close to the end to close that's when we had issue with getting items completed. The sales person was great she did the best she could to get items addressed. However, the construction team was slow and unresponsive to getting items ready for a final walkthrough. Things weren't ready until 5 minutes before we had to close.

Had the best experience. Got an awesome home at a great price! Ashley, our sales person and Jason, our builder went out of their way to help us. They are willing to customize your home the way you want it and make changes on the fly. We would definitely buy a Highland Home again and for sure would love to work with them again.

Better designs then the competition. They entertained some custom changes that other builders would not. However, the title work and finish was not finished completely. Disappointing for the price point. We still have a list of I Owe Yous from the builder months after moving in.

They are really good and stand out for their name.

From the start Kathi Miller was a joy to work with to help us find the right floor plan and location. From there Donna Flarity was so helpful with designing every aspect of our home. George Flores was incredible as he took us through every aspect of the building process and was always there to answer our questions whenever we needed him.

The building manager, Giovani, was wonderful with the home building process. He was accessible, knowledgeable, open minded, flexible and helpful. He made the home building process not just easy, but fun for us as buyers. He addressed our concerns quickly and educated us about many things along the way. The suggestions and recommendations he made were things we are really grateful for after we moved in.

But because of the home being built so quickly, there were many things that were overlooked. Our two main upgrades (Lot size & master shower) were not completed to our liking and we are still resolving these issues. Also the sprinkler system was set up prior to moving in and it was set to run three times a day, every day and our first water bill was almost $900. It would have been nice to know that issue before moving in. Very frustrating!

We loved Highland Homes, but obviously as there are pros, there are cons as well. Before you buy, you get a quick response. After you buy, if there is anything to fix, you will have a hard time.
