We bought a home in Santa Rita Ranch, and our project supervisor, Francisco, did a great job updating us step-by-step, making sure his subcontractors performed to the highest level. Francisco was amazing, and we highly recommend him and Highland Homes.

Lots of workmanship issues found at the home. We bought online so we didn't have a chance to see the house before moving in. Had to escalate issues to senior leadership in order to get things moving. One contractor came do an incorrect job and I am still waiting to hear back and get a date to get a replacement cabinet door. Too many defects for new construction. Not willing to recommend Highland.

The whole experience was incredibly disappointing and stressful. The house had several issues pre and post closing. Our walk through was an ever long list of problems and severe lack of attention to details. We were promised a home with the same quality as a model home and the delivery could not be far from it. Our kitchen cabinets are uneven, doorknobs are falling and not properly placed, bath sinks have leeks, kitchen sink is supposed to be stainless steel yet it has several stains that do not come off even with use of professional products. I would not recommend this builder to anyone. It prides itself for quality, but it definitely does not live to the expectations. ... More

We had a very good experience starting with our sales team Amy, Linda & Lynn. They were great throughout the progress. Our builder / supervisor Matt was supurb as attended any concerns immediately. He built a very sturdy house for us which we are converting into our home now.

My experience with Highland Homes was excellent from beginning to end. Fist of all, the home is built with quality materials and high end finishes. I really like that there is no carpet in the home and its very bright and open. The quality does not even come close to the other builders homes in this price range. The management staff is very helpful and always there when you have a question. No delays in getting back even after the home was bought. Especially enjoyed working with Lula and Matt

I Wouldn’t recommend highland to my dog .We still have messed up cabinets and no one is responding after we close .

Highland Homes was very easy to work with from the sales process to the construction management. We are happy with the home to this point.

Had a great customer service experience with Matt who is our construction manager. Always attentive to our warranty issues and solves them in time. Even the built quality is very good. All customization and changes were clearly explained even during the build process.

Amy and Walter were extraordinary in helping us get our home. They both answered our questions and concerns immediately. Both were professional and made our first home buying a great experience. I can tell now that the other house builders are second rate compared highland home when comes to personal and when comes to building home right way.

Our sales consultant Lula helped immensely in coordinating the options on our home so that we felt confident going into construction on our new home. Our construction manager Henry B. has been working with us from start to finish, and beyond. At all times throughout the construction process Henry was timely in his responses, professional in his explanations, and transparent with the process and any issues. Any time we had a question or concern, Henry promptly met with us to explain the process and make sure we were happy. A few small items have presented post closing, and we are very thankful to still be working with Henry, who has quickly responded and managed his team to resolve issues and be our single point of contact to maintain our great experience with Highland Homes. ... When I was in buying phase , because of all the crazy bidding and other things in Austin market, I had really different perspective for home builder. Amy and Matt changed the perspective completely after working with Highland homes in positive way. Matt L and Amy A have been helping us from Stage-1 to Stage-10. Even after closing Matt is paying attention to all our concerns and provide explanation/learning as new home owner and address the concerns on timely manner. The house build is so good that during recent ice storm even without power, the house hold the 68 F temperature for next four hours and only dropped to 4 F by morning at 8 am. Outside temperature was 28 F at that time. Energy efficiency was super important for us and it proved to be best during recent storm event. Outside of that Matt and Amy has been teaming up to resolve all the issues and questions we had for different phases of constructions. During the final walk-in, Matt verified all the fixes we have on list. Matt take pride in building home and made sure he/himself is happy with work as if he were to move-in here. Matt is also most knowledgeable when it comes to construction and providing homeowner tips on how to maintain it going forward, and even show us how to do it while Amy has always provided insight into must vs good to have in house. We had a great sales experience, the sales team has been excellent with responding to queries, addressing our concerns etc. Special call out to Lula who has been excellent to work with. Mixed experience with the construction team. Since we were remote, we didn't had the opportunity to continuously monitor the home. We weren't getting regular (weekly) updates on home construction as promised. During final inspection, we found several issues which were addressed promptly, except a few which were missed and we found them out after moving into the home. We were asked to raise home warranty case, which we did along with a bunch of other issues we found after living in the house. Warranty team has been responsive, but the speed of resolution is not up to mark. It has been more than a month since we moved in, still dealing with unfixed issues with the builder. ... More

This was our first home and the experience was smooth and seamless. Highland was very responsive/supportive in resolving issues post closure. The builder was very accommodative. Overall it was a good experience.

Very nice community, quality homes in affordable prices . Service has been fantastic .

Our experience has been very good, but not excellent. The builder has been responsive, but many items have been delayed due to supply chain issues and by contractors being overwhelmed. Our engineer has been very responsive and helpful. Our biggest issue is the lack of quality control. The material a very good, but the quality control of assembly is not there. In all fairness, we have noticed the same issues with other builders after talking with our Neighbors.

As a realtor, I have been a huge advocate for highland homes and will continue to be. Their floor plans are roomy, well designed and efficient. However, we experienced the following concerns. Your experience may differ so please take it with a grain of salt. 1) multiple construction delays and changes in construction management personnel. This may have improved in recent months. 2) strongly recommend separate property inspection. Align with the builder on what needs to be fixed before closing and make sure they do. Otherwise, You can expect to have month long delays and multiple follow ups before issues get resolved 3) do a checklist on all the change order from your design options with the construction manager. Had nothing but great experience working with all of the great team at Highland Homes!

Having moved a number of times, this is our retirement move, closer to children. We have a lovely home, we have downsized so still adjusting ( I'm sure this will take a bit, we also relocated from 5.5 acres). Looking forward to our new lifestyle. Neighbors have been friendly and helpful, Glad we chose a dog & kiddo friendly neighborhood, lots of areas to walk safely.

We've now worked with 3 Construction Managers (CM) after firing the first (refusing to work with him) after he lied to us about a sealing issue in our roof that our personally hire inspector found. Our 2nd day in the house we were awakened at 2am to substantial leaking in 2 bathrooms, hallway, walls, roofs, etc. because there was so much water on the ceiling it set off the smoke detectors. Since then, we found out they only used primer w/o a coat of paint on most of the house, we have white paint stains ALL over our house, including all over our brand new (and expensive) woof floors, in additions to nicks and scratches. Dozens of things around the house weren't sealed correctly, if at all. Mirrors were not secured, we have a big dip in our wood floors in the kitchen that they didn't even try to fill in or cover up. They just added the wood planks over the gap and said nothing. There poor landscaping also flooded our front yard garden area, they made changes to the houses layout without even consulting us!! because they "had it when they were a kid". The painted our brick the wrong color, they didn't stain our fence as per our contract. The paint was blotchy, uneven and sparse all over the house. We've been here for 2 months and there literally has not been 1 day when we haven't found something else wrong and the majority of those days we've had workers and CM's in and out of our house to fix things. Except they either don't show up when scheduled, show up randomly unannounced and unplanned, invite themselves over (the CM Clint), they have big packages mailed to our house w/o telling us they're coming, what they are and what they're for and they put them in the middle of our driveway or blocking our front door or in the mud. Speaking of yards, they put a porta-potty in our front yard - yes they put a portable toilet that workers were using in the middle of our front yard. We had to move out a week because they had so much to fix and when we came back less than half of what we were told would be done was done. They lied about replacing drywall in all of the areas effected by our huge leak in the roof and they've had workers come to fix things that either don't show up, don't fix anything, make it worse or fix it but create another problem. And I'm only telling you part of it after 2 months. The biggest slap in the face is that they've offered absolutely nothing for all of the trouble. No upgrades, no discount, not a single thing. Oh but they did give us $200/day for the week we got kicked out of our house that was supposed to cover lodging and food for a family of four - with a 3-yr old and 5-yr old. And boy do they lie. We even have them on tape and video to prove it. My hand is tired, otherwise I could keep adding things for hours and I'm not kidding or exaggerating. So I would say don't use them maybe :) ... More

I have had multiple new builds, and the Highland team was by far the most professional, friendly and easy to work with. We love the layout and the neighborhood, and are enjoying our new home. That said, I would be remiss if I did not note that the quality of the fit and finish is sub-par, and judging by what I've seen them build not to their standard. Perhaps the quality of the sub-contractors is what is the cause here, but that requires some attention as there are so many issues that should not exist at this level of home /price point.

Materials used were high quality and very attentive to customer issues, very friendly and responsive team.

Through and through a great experience with Highland homes. The sales staff to construction manager to escrow agent and loan officer were all top notch. Thank you to Erin (sales), Jeremy, Preston (construction), and Matt (loan) for facilitating the process and making the move seamless.

The craftsmanship and attention to detail is severely lacking, heavily impacting the final outcome. Just because a home is livable it doesn't mean the buyer should be forced to accept lippage in the tile, bulging walls, inconsistent masonry, and questionable framing, amongst other things, like we were.

Every person I worked with from sales, to construction manager, to finance were all A+ in communication, information and guidance through the whole process!

I would buy my Highland home all over again. My only complaint is that our brand new home was filthy. I had to clean/scrub everything before I could put anything away. Huge hunks of construction debris on top of cabinets etc. I cleaned until my hands ached.
