Honest and hardworking. Followed through on unfinished items

Poor paint quality, poor trim work, poor wall texture, bad cabinets. Moved in after 15 month wait, and still incomplete. It's a beautiful plan and a very nice area. Just, quality, from a highly expensive builder. Expectations are low.

HH has been great. Our third time to build with them; fourth overall supervising the construction of my N-Laws home. Each time, it has been a rewarding experience; the final product has always been incredible.

Quality of materials and work of subcontractors is atrocious.

Level of work poorly done. Contractor would reply in timely manner when contacted. Sales person and contractor both lied that the home will not have a driveway with an incline. Being disabled makes it difficult to climb on slope from sidewalk to the home. I am very unhappy with the work done and selling as soon as I have some equity accrued.

-Lack of updates/ inaccurate and incorrect updates throughout the entire home building experience. -Constant follow-ups to inform the builder of the inaccuracies provided. -Treated disrespectfully and blown off. -Pointed out several issues prior to move-in that I was assured would be taken care of. (They weren’t when I moved in and I received no communications. I had to escalate and inform the necessary individuals of what the issues were and escalations continue.) -Issues with the AC leaking and a Gas Leak happened during first few weeks of move in. -Continued issues outstanding to date and the amount of follow-up/time spent on issues that should have been done correctly is mind boggling. -Many individuals within the same neighborhood have the same exact experiences and concerns -Horrible workmanship with no one double checking that things were done correctly. -Issues included on inspection report prior to move -in weren’t taken care of before I moved in. These remain outstanding. -Continue to find items that have failed to be done correctly regularly. Face value, it is a beautiful home. However, when you do your due diligence you find that the workmanship and information you have been provided fails to be accurate. Be ready for a fight for what is right and many many hours of your personal time invested having to work through items that should have been done correctly the first time. ... More

I love my home. The total experience was great. Never had a new home built, went better than I thought.

The construction managers in La Cima we’re fantastic to work with. Very professional and knowledgeable.

This company is very busy which means that they often don’t have time to address issues you may have with your home. This can be frustrating. There are some areas in my home where the finish work such as the painting is subpar and sloppy. I am waiting for issues with getting the right paint to correct itself, so that I can fix these flaws myself

Highland did a great job building my home. Team is very professional and great with giving follow ups of your home along the way!

What is my character limit here? Because I need a LOT of space to explain. The process started fine, with some adjustments for COVID. But even accounting for some delays, Highland construction was hideously mismanaged. - From August to October, virtually zero progress because the local construction manager was not scheduling inspections with the city of Kyle. 10 week delay. Lots of yelling and screaming when we found out, they reassign a new construction manager who assures us he is on it. Expected move in now pushed from November to February. - House was making some progress at least, inspections being scheduled. We pointed out several items that would need correction - assured by construction manager that they would be taken care of. - February passes, still slow progress, being told due to inspections but when pushed on it admitting that they were failing inspections. Escalated to Highland Regional Construction Manager to get control of the situation. - March and still no closing date scheduled. Several items we had been pointing out for months are still not corrected. Construction manager assures us he is "on it". - April, and FINALLY a closing date. Several items still outstanding. Main one of which is outlet and switch covers (48 in total) that were cut WAY too big (some over 1/2 in too big) during drywall phase. We ask to get them fixed. Contractors spackle and paint WITHOUT REMOVING THE COVERS, so covers are now covered in spackle and paint, texture is missing around them. We complain about this and some other items enough that the regional manager, area manager, and local construction manager all meet with us at the house a week before closing. We are ASSURED it will all be fixed before close. - Day before closing - multiple outlet and switch covers still not fixed, along with a number of other items. We escalate to delay closing. Are ASSURED it will be fixed by end of day. [Narrator: It was not fixed by the end of the day] - Closing day. We sign papers. We go to inspect our new house and get keys. EVERYTHING IS STILL NOT FIXED. We yell at the construction manager, we call the regional and area manager. We are ASSURED it will be fixed before we move in the next day. - Moving day. We arrive at the house at noon. There are drywall workers with 5 gallon buckets of spackle, spray guns, and spatulas working all around the house. Plastic sheeting is spread on most of the floors. WE HAVE 3 MOVING TRUCKS OF STUFF ARRIVING IN 20 MINUTES. On the phone with Regional Manager who says they'll get done and out as fast as they can, but we need to not put stuff around the walls because they need to come back and paint the next day. So basically, we can move our stuff in but can't really unpack. It took a WEEK to resolve to the point that we could actually put furniture where it belonged. - Post move in, it took 6 WEEKS just to clear the Closing punch list (stuff that should have been fixed before closing). Contractors showed up with limited to zero information on why they were there, and us having to explain every time what needed to be done (this should be Highland Homes job, right?). - Post closing, still finding items that were clearly not installed correctly that should have been identified by any competent construction manager. Entry way doors with zero weather stripping as an example. - In the end, we love our new home's floor plan, our lot, and our neighborhood. But never again will we put up with such a horribly mismanaged construction process. ... More

Great experience during the whole construction project. I wish I could be informed more when the people were working on the house, that way I could see any things that wasn’t done properly.

The workmanship of their contractors are some of the worst I've seen in central Texas. The construction manager tries to keep up but he was constantly missing details and big things in the house. The floor was an absolute disaster and doesn't look anything like the design center. They all point fingers at each other to excuse the poor workmanship and materials.

The ladies that helped us in the sales office were amazing, helping us with every question or request we had and in a very timely manner, considering how busy they always were. Our PM was great as well, explaining everything in detail as we did our walk throughs, and answering any questions or concerns we had with any aspect of the house. Overall, we had a great experience.

The building project was flawless and accurately predicted. Of particular note was my experience with DANIELLE,LULA, JAVIER and HARRY. They each made the whole building experience as efficient as possible.

Overall there were delays and many not related to highland. My husband and I are very direct folks and we got the feeling that sometimes they didn’t want to give us answers because of poor customer experience. For us no matter if you said it’s ready in 2 years we would have appreciated that more than I don’t know, i don’t know. That’s it we love our home excluding the very cheap paint that literally wipes away at the touch. Also, all the cosmetic errors that the didn’t fix at walk through and then said wait until 11 months and submit the warranty…

I don't have anything negative at all. We looked at several other builders prior to selecting highland - Perry homes, Ashton woods (I think is what they're called), David weekly, and probably a few more I forget the names - it wasn't even close to the 90ft. highland home floor plans. The height of the houses along with the detached garage, the fact that the standard 90 ft lot was a pretty massive lot, the 13 ft. ceilings were pretty much game changers b/c no one else really offered that. Perry you'd have had to pay 50k+ for a lot, and they're ugly houses (at least the one stories - no way would I pay over half a mil for one of their one stories), and really the same story for the other builders; just ugly houses. As far as the service - it really boils down to Danielle, Brady and Troy. All of these folks are absolute rockstars - Danielle helped us like beyond words in all the nuance questions we had and yeah, was extremely patient with us. Brady's the man - honestly don't know how one could keep up with all the houses and maintenance questions - I don't recall any of the 1 million things we wanted to change falling through the cracks - super good dude. Troy - even at the last minute - when selling our previous house was pushed back a week, he figured out a quick fix for our mortgage on literally the night before signing and still all went seamlessly. Troy also was super patient with all the loan questions we had. I don't know if we'll ever build again, namely b/c it was a long process, but if we did, and highland built some even bigger homes (b/c I mean we're not going to downgrade at this point!), I'd for sure be happy to build with highland again. It's also amazing that I'm writing this review - I don't write reviews, but I'm happy to write one for these folks. We were kept informed at every step in the home building process. Problems come up in any big project, so I focus on how the issues are dealt with. Highland Homes addressed and fixed all the problems that arose with professionalism and care. Highly recommend this builder!

Keep ose eyes on the building phase, the attention to detail is lacking. For instance: we were assured that the drywall installers used screws instead of nails. I personally saw them pound all the screws inime nails.. No one is keeping track of the vendor work as far as I can tell.

I've had experience with production and custom builders in the past and Highland rates as low as possible.

Building was very well handled by the project manager Eric.

We had heard many great things about Highland from friends and neighbors that we met. Our overall experience with Highland was phenomenal! They were always quick to respond to emails with any questions that we had! Our sales rep was Branka and our foreman was Matt Lindeman. They were both excellent to work with! They kept us updated throughout the entire process and took care of any issues we found during the build! The quality and craftsmanship far exceeded our expectations! We are absolutely in love with our new home and will definitely recommend Highland homes to our friends and family!

These guys really came through, in what was a tough time to build a house given the massive inflation and supply chain shortages. They communicated well, were overly fair in how they handled the issues and kept their word when a number of other builders started canceling contracts. Wow.
