Thru the good and the bad the Construction Foreman remained calm and made the building process easier. We are Happy with our home. I would not recommend it to anyone ... only because I want to be the only one of my friends living in this Beautiful Neighborhood... we did the hard work of finding this neighborhood and the long wait of the construction process is sooo worth it...

I went out of my comfort zone. I Bought this Beautiful Home Online! My experience from start to finish was Amazing! Face time helping me to choose materials. Builder & team friendly all that was promised was! Walk through with Builder was even better then I imagined! Quality & Value of my Home was everything & more!

Highland homes deliver a superior product and they stand by it!

Love the floor plan and the expedited closing. The title company was excellent to work with. Construction manager has been sympathetic however for whatever reason almost every system or area has required some corrective action and he is under pressure to deliver new homes rather than prioritize warranty work. This is very different from our experience with the new home we purchased from Perry Homes 6 years ago where there were very few follow up items, the quality of the initial work being much higher.

Overall happy with my home but finishings/touchups to the cabinets and sheetrock could have been better. The issues we identified after closing should have been done before closing as this caused some inconvenience to us. Due to the covid many workers were coming to fix the issues and this didn't feel good/ safe as I have a little baby.

Great homebuying experience. I would definitely recommend Highland to friends and family.

The team did a great job addressing my needs and concerns. Overall the process was smooth and all were easy to work with. I give them the team a 10.

The builders and office personnel were very help to assist us with selections and what was allowable as a Highland Home. We made some changes along the way and most of them were accepted, even during Cov19. I give the Highland builder my highest recommendation.

As with any new home building experience there will be some things you love and some things that don't go so well. When we were having issues getting the inspections completed so we could close on time, we let Highland know what was going on. They brought in Alex, our construction manager, and he knew how to get things done and how to keep in great communication with us during the whole process. We have been in the home for two months now and Tucker, our new CM, is now working with us on a few minor things for the home and he is doing an outstanding job as well. We closed on our home in October 2020. We love the design of our home and the location. Highland has great floor plans to choose from. We have had numerous issues during the construction phase and after we moved in. Specifically, we have had several plumbing related issues. Mustang Plumbing is the subcontractor for Highland Homes and almost everything Mustang Plumbing has touched has been done incorrectly. The largest and most egregious issue was that Mustang Plumbing did not connect our grinder pump to the city sewer line in front of the house. On the day we moved into our new home we had sewage running all over our front yard and driveway. The next day Mustang did connect the grinder pump to the city sewer line; however, they failed to connect the grinder pump back up to the electrical system. A few days later we had sewer gas in our new home. Another Mustang plumber came out and resolved the issue. Another Mustang issue is that they incorrectly installed our disposal in the kitchen sink. A few days after moving in to our new home we had lots of water leaking under our sink. Yet another Mustang plumber had to come out and correct the issue. We have also had issues with our "Smart Home Package" offered by Highland Homes. Essentially, during the construction phase of the house, IES (another subcontractor) neglected to install several access ports needed for the Eero wifi extenders. IES offered to retrofit the extenders but doing so would have required rather extensive drywall work. We declined because we do not want patwork drywall in our new home. Another IES issue focused on our video doorbell. In order to install our video doorbell IES had to remove several bricks from the front of the house and then a brick mason had to come out and patch up the front of the house. It looks fine, but why not install the video doorbell from the very beginning. All of the IES issues stem from poor planning. Advice to future buyers - insist that your wifi extenders and video doorbell be installed before you move in. It is a huge inconvenience having people in and out of your house installing items that can easily be installed before you move in. I write this review on January 6, 2021. Since we moved in we have had to submit at least 6-7 warranty issues to Highland Homes. All but one have been addressed. But I find it sad that we have had to submit so many warranty requests on a brand new home. Our project manager, Matt, has been very responsive to each of the issues we have faced. I do not blame Matt for anything. However, I strongly encourage Highland Homes to source better plumbing and low voltage subcontractors. If you are looking to buy a Highland Home, you will love your design choices and the floor plan options. Highland Homes look great. However, be very thorough in your inspections because I do have my doubts about the quality of the workmanship (especially the areas that are hidden behind walls such as plumbing. Ask questions. Better designs then the competition. They entertained some custom changes that other builders would not. However, the title work and finish was not finished completely. Disappointing for the price point. We still have a list of I Owe Yous from the builder months after moving in.

We loved Highland Homes, but obviously as there are pros, there are cons as well. Before you buy, you get a quick response. After you buy, if there is anything to fix, you will have a hard time.

Our experience with Highland was great, from start to finish. We always received quick responses to our questions and requests and never felt pressured or rushed in making decisions. We would recommend Highland homes for anyone considering having a new home built.

Good experience buying the home With highland the staff was excellent to work with.

Went through the first walk through, tagged everything we needed them to touch up. Second walk through was a mess, because we had issues with the builders lender we really didn’t have a good final walk through. At this point we just wanted to move in. FYI don’t go with this builders lender. We built our home, started in February finally moved in September. Lender said everything was great we were approved for the whole six months. 3 days before our closing date, they said they couldn’t approve us. For two weeks they told me to pay off certain debts I had. Did everything they asked for at the end still couldn’t. Went with another lender got pre approved in 3 days closed in two weeks. After moving in some of the stuff we tagged for them to fix the first walk through was still there. We thought we could trust the builders. Mostly all the door handles including the front door were loose. Went to the builder to tell them. They gave me a screw driver to go do it my self. I have three months living at my home and I’ve already have had to call my warranty twice to come fix things like, no texture on walls, places they didn’t even paint, huge crack on our cement stair way to the front door. Still haven’t came to fix the rest of the stuff I put on the second order of warranty, and it’s already been a month. Like, the huge crack from one side of the drive way to the other side, one straight line across. I had a guy come fix the stair way to the front door and when my wife showed him the other crack that’s on the drive way. He said that they would probably had to do the whole drive way all over again. No one ever came back. Not worth the pay! The only best thing out of this builder is there sales person that’s at the model home. He has been super helpful to us from the get go and even after I bought the house I’ve called him, because I can’t get a hold of the people that are responsible to fix my issues at my house, he’s always picked up and tried to help me in any way he can. Sales process was professional. Massive problems with issues reported before closing - still not taking care off. Too many times we had invest our time for issues and no results. Simple things (i.e. shoe mold in kitchen) is still not taken care off. No communication from Building Manager. Very frustrating. More and more smaller problems occur and NO action after reporting.

I had a great home buying experience with Highland Homes. From my first visit to the lovely model and working with a great sales counselor through each phase of the building process, I was pleased with the journey. There were several wonderful floorplans to choose from and I am delighted with the one I chose. The amenities included, as well as the quality of workmanship is excellent. I am proud to be a Highland Homes homeowner.

Good experience so far. Quality looks better and worth the price you pay for.

They get you in, sometimes forget about you and after closing is when you find the carelessness in some of the installs around the house. By then it's too late and you have to live with it.
