Highland homes builds an amazing home, great quality and helpful and diligent employees from Sales to Build to Closing! Extremely satisfied with our new home!

We purchased a Highland home in April of this year and have had multiple issues. One of the main issues was our granite kitchen countertop had a crack that ran from one side to the other and our previous construction mgr didn't want to replace it and kept telling us it was a natural fissure which it was not. We had to go to his boss to get this resolved and it took several weeks but they finally replaced it 2 weeks after we moved in. We did our 10 day walk through before our closing day and marked multiple issues that needed to be fixed. Several of these issues were not addressed and we had to deal with them AFTER we moved in. Our home was 90% complete that day we moved in and had to have multiple people come over weeks after to fix all of the unfinished/improperly done items. The people that we dealt with @ Highland are hard to get a hold of and not very responsive or communicative. The sales person disappeared as soon as everything was signed on the dotted line and money was funded. He knew how many issues we were having and has not once called or checked in to see how our experience has been. I have reached out several times, no response. Pretty much after 4/5 pm, you can't get a hold of anyone and they won't even text you back. We had to constantly reach out to them to get any response and to get anything done. It has been 7 weeks since we moved in and the last item is finally getting resolved on our home. We looked at multiple home builders and we went with Highland based on their reputation and reviews. This has not been a great experience for us as first time home buyers. They build a nice home and it is laid out really well but all of the issues we have had along with the communication issues has really darkened our experience with Highland Homes. ... More

Pro: Blake N. our builder was tops. We had confidence and satisfaction throughout the build because he has been so helpful and responsive to us. Con: The people who put in the yard did a rotten job. It's filled with ruts, bumps and weeds. Compared to other yards around us, ours is pitiful.

The home overall is a great home. I had a lot of rough times with the builder with things not been done right seem as they were taking a lot of shortcuts to cut cost or either the trades didn't care. I have since moved into home and the trades throw their trash on the side of home, they have walked down sod which is nothing but mud now paint on my side and up against my home and I've said something mortar mix thrown all against home, window and A/C unit. Happy with home but not happy on how the trades not held accountable for damaging my home and leaving mess for me to clean up.

Great service from start to finish.....is our second Highland Home and have had positive experiences with both to date.

Both our Sales Rep (Tracy) and Construction Manager (Mike) were professional and communicated clearly - in other words, our expectations were managed well. We closed as expected and could not be happier with our new home!

We are new to Texas and spent a great deal of the building process out of the country. Our Construction Manager (Justin Minikes) was always available to answer any questions and offer his expertise. He would even go as far to video chat to show the progress. As we have settled into our new home, he continues to be at bay to answer any questions or concerns we may have. This is always done expeditiously. We love our home but we loved the experience even more! I now understand why Highland Homes are so highly sought after

Overall a good experience building with Highland.

My experience from beginning to end was excellent. I felt everything I was told was honest and trustworthy. I was kept in the loop every step of the way. Everything agreed upon was done. I couldn’t be happier.

Our builder and sales rep worked as a team to ensure we were kept informed throughout the build process of progress, risks and schedule impacts. Overall a great experience and we are very pleased with our new house.

Floor plans and upgrade options are excellent!

Highland is a good home builder. They do care about taking care of you after you close your house with them. Home building takes time and fluidity, be patient it’s worth it.

Alicia did a great job during the selling process and in assisting us in completing everything we wanted in our deal From our initial walk through to followup after we moved in Shawn has been very accessible and dependable on anything we need. Really outstanding builder and service. I highly recommend Highland homes.

Great place to buy a house

Great experience from start to finish.

Nelli is great, but we have had many issues related to the quality of workmanship, responsiveness of the repairs/resolution. Initial supervisor resigned and did not correct multiple things. Serious drainage issue in our backyard. Poor Grading, etc. Now we are trying to put in a pool and we were told there was room to put one in and meet the requirements. Now we are being told differently by the HOA GM for Liberty. Our decision to purchase this home was we thought everything would be high quality and information would be correct. Anna in Sales and Ian in Construction were both awesome to deal with! Always on top of everything and made sure the entire process was quick and easy. We are super happy with our new Highland Homes house at Mustang Lakes!

Very honest and responsive to concerns.

The builder did their best to stick to the schedule even with the bad weather in Texas (snowstorm). When we moved in we had an opportunity to point at any small details that needed to be addressed. The builder came back in and made sure they addressed the details and the house was 100 percent move in ready.

Responsive to any issues encountered.

The beginning process was so exciting. Everyone that helped us with highland was informative and kind. We had a few delays on windows and the brick for the home which extended our closing 2 months. That is something you just have to be flexible with when building a new home. Only complaint, the items we wanted fixed before closing seemed to not be handled with care. The workmanship seemed to be sloppy. For example where a the bottom of the floor/wall buckled that was fixed in closing day. Well who ever fixed left paint and caulk on the wood planking and it was not smooth. That’s just one example. I put in warranty ticket for the minor things we found again which is common. Having built a house in the past, and experiencing a builder who was slipshod and unpleasant to deal with, we were thrilled with our process with Highland Homes. Not only have they been responsive throughout, but the quality of our home is something we continually enjoy as we get settled. We've been continually glad that we chose Highland, and equally happy with the people we've worked with through the process.
