We bought back in July of 2020 secured the lot which was better than the timing of the home market now. One thing I will say that needs improvement are warranty tickets that need to be addressed I have about 8-10 warranty requests unanswered. I understand the market is crazy right now but at least tend to the buyers who bought the home as well. That’s all, other than that I am very pleased with the design and quality of the materials.

The shopping and buying experience was great but response to concerns after the sale for warranty issues is a bit discouraging to none. This overshadows everything since a new hone is a life long investment

I moved in the end of April and have put in 2 request for repairs and haven't heard back. I had a crack in the master tub when i moved in and my vanity draw has fallen out.

Our overall buying experience was good. We were thoroughly informed about our options throughout the process and our sales rep always handled himself professionally, being plenty patient with any of our inquiries. Where Highland Homes becomes “just another builder out to make a quick buck” is with the integrity that follows moving in. Every builder misses things, but we figured that given Highland Home’s reputation, things would be different when it came to home repairs. We were wrong. We have been dealing with an issue concerning one of our appliances tripping a breaker. Initially, we were told by our project manager that Highland Homes has been experiencing this due to a new code being passed. They sent an electrician and he “assessed” both the dryer and their breaker. They “swapped out” a breaker and left it at that. The dryer continues to trip the breaker and they have now pivoted to asking that we either replace a wire on an appliance that was previously working perfectly, or better yet, have that wire completely removed, making it a fire hazard. The luster of being a new homeowner via Highland Homes has quickly faded. So be warned if you expect them to live up to their word. It truly is a shame that people operate this way, especially after such a meaningful purchase, but these companies are always ultimately out to make a profit and look the other way when held accountable. Lot of plumbing issue, I had lot of high expectations from Highland homes.

I came to Highland Homes after I heard great reviews and rave about them. My buying experience was good. Very transparent and prompt team. My experience with quality of material is horrible. I literally have issues with everything. From tiles to flooring. Paint to cabinet quality. Cleaning was off when we entered. From day 1 onwards I am chasing someone to fix issues and its more than 2 months now and issues still exist. Its my weekly task to log complaints and coordinate with multiple people to fix issues. Very bad experience on my first home.

Highland homes are extremely beautiful. And their reputation is stellar. Our project manager Julio couldn’t have been more helpful and professional, hands-down, so knowledgeable and helpful during the process. Our home is built, impeccably worry free. The only reason for the four stars on the overall buying experience (because everything else is 5 stars). This is not our first time buying a home, nor our second or third time. I was a bit baffled and disappointed that no one from the sales team or Highland homes itself sent a thank you note with a gift to the buyers (us). I have never purchased a home and all my days and all my years where we were not thanked afterwards with some kind of thank note and a gift basket a bottle of wine cookies, something. My wife and I recently built with Highland Homes, and they truly are an excellent production builder, but in this brutally honest review, they are, indeed, a production builder. Our builder was amazing, helped us with some custom requests, and the construction process seemed to go pretty seamlessly. The reason I ding them an overall star is for the closing process with the home. Nothing to do with their mortgage company, or any surprises, however the cleaning company they use to get the house ready for closing day was an absolute atrocity. We found window screens ajar outside, with some windows being a crack open. No actual cleaning of the cabinets / floors, and the 8k we paid in window shades was done, and it was just a disapointing end to a rather great experience otherwise. The other thing is the amount of issues that were missed during the walkthroughs, which I can take blame for. We had some water leaking from our master shower, we had a couple of irrigation leaks for our sprinkles, and a lot of nonsense issues that you have to call customer care for to have taken care of on a work order. They do respond timely, but to have 8-10 work orders after you move in just adds to the stress. Seems as though the trades install things, but don't actively test to ensure everything is working correctly. My advice to Highland is that if you have customers who are moving into $700,000+ homes, make them feel like you cared enough to have them ready. ... More

I love my home. Everything looks really good. They are fixing everything I have asked them to fix. Reliable.

This is the 4th home I have purchased. All from different builders. The overall experience has been fantastic. From start to finish I never felt like a transaction. That matters to me a lot. I highly recommend.

That said, we were a bit disappointed to see the base price of our floor plan drop less than a month after we closed. We understand that pricing can shift with the market, but such a quick decrease felt discouraging, especially after making such a big investment. I didn’t move into Paloma Creek. I moved into wildflower ranch. Ginger was knowledgeable and supportive throughout our homebuying experience. Our superintendent, Aaron was attentive to our needs and followed through on request in a timely manner.

During the first month I’ve lived in the brand new house. Finished building October 22nd, closed on the house October 24th. 1. Bathroom light stopped working 2. Shelf in pantry fell apart 3. Electrical issues from the front porch plug. Doesn’t work, even after I reset the circuit breaker. 4. Still don’t get mail here OR able to find on maps. 5. The design of the back yard makes it flood. The water drains in the back are not where the water flows through so I just have this big puddle and mud section of my yard. I wonder what’s next.

My first home in TX was a Highland Home. I later moved to another new build by a different builder. What a step down that was Although the new home was more expensive, the quality of the finishing left a lot to be desired. Drawers were noisy, appliances cheap, we had several warranty requests, much more than we did in our Highland home. When we started looking for a home again, our first stop was Highlands. We are very satisfied with our decision and we love our new home. Will I buy a Highland home again? Absolutely!!!

Edison was great! He always did what he said he would do and greatly appreciated his commitment and follow through on details while balancing the the best interests of his company and keeping the buyer(me) happy. I’d hire him to work for me.

Generally, the buying process was quick and easy! The price of the house was in a reasonable range, although there are some unexpected surprises of paying extra for some of the developer’s own responsibilities to bring essential services to the area! In addition, I don’t expect to worry about the absence of blinds, funs and even a few of window screens are still missing! However, the properties of Highland Homes are fantastic! Highland homes is very responsive. We love our new home.

Builder Drake was a pleasure to work with and very responsive. Only complaint was lack of disclosure that knobs and handles a charge control. Certainly would have executed that if told of this issue

The home buying experience was good. I enjoyed it.

Highland homes is a great builder but with this community having to deliver too many homes in short time, construction managers have too many homes in their hands hence some of the things are not being looked upon. My CM - Dillon was awesome and hence I got a good home, but I have seen my neighbors homes where the CMs are completely ignorant or MIA, and their homes are not up to the mark. Request Highland homes to assign more CMs to this community so that new homes constructed as per buyer's needs. I, personally do not have many complaints.
