Highland tried to answer every question we had and came through all the answers and promises made through closing.

From our first sales meeting , through the remote building process to closing and after moving in, the service and thoughtfulness from the entire Highland team was amazing. I would like to highlight our build manager Yale as the person who truly made this project a seamless experience. I paid the full price for the home, including all items that were supposed to be included in the price. However, many things were not installed, such as fans and lights. The fence planning was completely mishandled, and the retaining wall was either not built or left incomplete. Additionally, I found several issues with the AC, drainage, tiles, doors, and more. I'm very dissatisfied with the price, especially since it's over $100k higher than homes in other communities built by the same builder within Dallas city. This was our second Highland Home build in 5 years. We went from a 2 story to a 1 story closer to our grandkids and we love it! Our Building Supervisor Jared was once again wonderful in making our home exactly what we wanted to be. He and our sales associate Alyesha were 2 of the biggest reasons we built again. Love our home and we are just to grateful for their help and attention to detail!

Continuous struggle through the whole process

We haven’t paid much attention to quality of work before closing. We identified few issues but didn’t insist too much on getting them corrected. After closing we ran into many minor issues from wall paints to lose door handles breaker issues wrong door type poor quality electrical outlets etc etc While none of these are big issues…. I didn’t expect to run into these petty issues which highlighted the quality of construction I do want to note that Highland had been very responsive and are trying to fix the issues.

During the first month I’ve lived in the brand new house. Finished building October 22nd, closed on the house October 24th. 1. Bathroom light stopped working 2. Shelf in pantry fell apart 3. Electrical issues from the front porch plug. Doesn’t work, even after I reset the circuit breaker. 4. Still don’t get mail here OR able to find on maps. 5. The design of the back yard makes it flood. The water drains in the back are not where the water flows through so I just have this big puddle and mud section of my yard. I wonder what’s next.

It was a pleasure working with Nelli & Orion at Highland Homes. Nelli helped us plan and choose the right options. She also quickly worked through business issues as they surfaced. Orion built us a beautiful home. With the added challenge of being out of state buyers, he did an excellent job keeping us informed on the progress of our home. He has been very responsive to minor items that surfaced during the walk through and orientation. We are very pleased with our new home

From my experience (first and the LAST) with Highland homes is that they used very very cheep materials. we moved in little over a month now, the master bedroom closet where we hang clothes fell off with the metal bar, on the other side the brackets bending down and the wood piece coming off the wall. both garage doors making scary noise when goes up. kitchen entry door from garage always hits the pantry doors, also highland painted the door hinges. first of all I believe using dead cheep materials and poor supervision caused these issues,

Do your research regarding EVERY home builder, the craftsmanship, the integrity, the build and do not just go off beautiful model homes or beautiful, new communities. Do your research on WHO you can expect living in a brand new area, try to avoid sales talk at all times and be your own salesperson / get a team you personally trust who will have your best interest at heart. Build with a company who builds fairly, prices fairly even if it is more than you want it to be, but focus on all the small details, quality, the different crews and how they treat your property, and any and all members who you have to deal with along the way making sure you state your requirements and expectations. Don't let too much time go by wasted without a lack of responses, handing things poorly with communication, quality, and dealing with non-English speaking individuals who will only make it stressful for you and the environment. Document everything, take pictures of everything, and if your budget is being overstretched, consider going with another reputable, high-quality, more designer so you can actually get what you want and what you expected from the beginning. LOCATION and area is everything, and who is all going to live in your community. Keeping in mind HOA will not do much nor help much at all even though you pay them each month - they are only there to ensure the community looks pretty, stays uniformed and has events to celebrate. ... The over all experience was good,

Zero complaints about the customer service. Everyone we interacted with during purchase and the build process was phenomenal. Our grievances are tied to the quality of materials, workmanship and the lack of QC. Our expectations were high after seeing HH’s model homes across several different communities. The house they built us definitely did not measure up to those expectations.

Solid and knowledgeable staff in build process.

We love our house and if we had to make decision again we would go with Homeland again!

We are impressed and pleased with the quality of the workmanship and materials. We have had a few minor adjustments and replacements, but the responsiveness to any issues we have had has been quick and positive. Kudos to our Customer Care Representative, Steve, who is always a joy to work with and who always follows through promptly with replacements, adjustments, service, etc.

It was good experience Doing good

Working with Highland Homes has been such an easy process. Although we were living out of state, our construction manager sent us regular updates with pictures and made time for us to walk through the home and answer questions and concerns whenever we were in town. From the sales people to the design center, to the builders; everyone made us feel like a priority and helped create our dream home! Now, as we live in the home, we love it more and more every day. The quality and craftmanship is top notch - helping us appreciate our beautiful home even more!
