Expect a good experience with Highland Homes. Our sales person, Tony, was super helpful explaining everything about buying our home. The design center personnel were easy to work with and helped us make the best choices. We have been very pleased with our warranty experience so far. Jack and team have been very responsive to all our questions and had the various teams complete the warranty work very quickly and thoroughly. We’re pleased with our decision to purchase a Highland Homes.

Going into our first home purchasing experience, Nick our builder really made us feel welcomed and well informed. He really went over every single detail of the home with us and addressed any concerns we had. Leading up to and after purchasing our home he's been very responsive on any concerns and definitely had everything taken care right away for us. I'd definitely reccomend Nick and Highland to any of my friends and family because of the great experience we had.

I recently built and closed a home with Highland Homes. Overall, the home turned out well, and I’m happy with the end result, but the process required active involvement to get everything to the right standard. What went well Home quality: The overall structure and layout are strong. The final look is clean and modern with the right selections. Design options: The design center offers a solid range of choices to create a cohesive finish. Timeline: Construction and closing stayed mostly on track. Responsiveness and service: This is where they did very well. The team responded quickly to issues and worked to resolve them without much pushback. Even larger items were addressed, which I appreciated. Areas for improvement Finish quality and workmanship: Painting quality was below expectation and required multiple touch-ups after move-in Sheetrock had visible imperfections that needed correction Some finishing details lacked consistency Post-close issues: Backyard grading and drainage concerns Sprinkler zones not functioning properly Uneven sod and soft spots in parts of the yard Subcontractor consistency: Trades like painting, drywall, and landscaping did not always match the quality of the main build Design center guidance: While options are good, the guidance during selection could be stronger I had to rely heavily on my own research to make the right long-term decisions Warranty expectations: Some items are only addressed if they meet specific thresholds, which may not always align with homeowner expectations Advice for future buyers Stay involved throughout the build Pay close attention to paint, drywall, and finishing before closing Check irrigation and grading carefully Do your own research during design selections Raise issues early and clearly Overall Highland Homes delivers a strong end product, and their team stands behind their work when issues are raised. Great house with many desirable features. Quality was great.

It was very easy to work with the builder’s agent, Jack L., during the planning process. He was quick to respond and consistently kept me informed about building progress. The construction manager, Bennett, was excellent — I really appreciated the weekly update emails and the site visits to review progress in person. I only wish the closing process had not felt so rushed. Overall, it was a very good experience

Unfortunately, one of the subcontractors absolutely failed in trying to resolve an ongoing issue. While it was finally resolved, it was because of my persistence, not the builder’s or the subcontractor’s efforts. This one experience was a total fail which turned an otherwise amazing homebuyer experience from all 5’s to all 4’s.

We had a few hiccups early on in the construction process. But, once Eric got involved everything worked smoothly. Eric is EXTREMELY good at his job and was very responsive to any and all my concerns!

Communication and follow thru was missing at times. It felt like we didn't know where things were such as sprinkler system to shut down the water consumption. We've been in our new home for six weeks and some (not all) repairs are finally being taken care of. We still have an issue with the kitchen cabinet drawer broken. Design of home is nice, functionality is less than desirable. For example the kitchen does not have enough counter space or cabinets. Very tight between island and stove area.

The house is very nice. Every person I’ve worked with was a wonderful. I feel like there was some things that were too rushed through and was some visible. When I asked for something to be done, though, everyone listened and explained the situation and took care of what I needed.

The entire process was good, and I was fairly compensated for the six months delay. The house was exactly as I expected it to be. I am happy with the price I paid; it was a good value. Highlands Homes is a trustworthy company; they provided everything that was promised to me, I would recommend Highland Homes for anyone planning to build.

There were some miscommunications and moments of friction during the process, but in the end, Highland did come through and delivered a good-quality home. To future buyers: do not wait until the final walk through to start identifying issues - start early, while the home is still under construction. Be proactive, visit the site often, and keep detailed notes. This will help you and Highland work together toward delivering a more complete and accurate final product. Some details fell through the cracks at the design center -for example, the tile behind the mirrors in the master bath, which was not included in the final build (we assumed it would be, since it was shown in the model). Do not assume something is included, verify. That said, we had to reference our paperwork multiple times and advocate for items that were supposed to be included. There appears to be a disconnect between Highland corporate, the sales/design team, and the contractors doing the actual construction. On more than one occasion, we had to point out selections that the builders had not been informed of. That said, once issues were raised, Highland was generally responsive and worked with us to make things right. Aside from these challenges, the overall experience and final outcome were positive. Several construction items (Awning not properly installed above front entrance.) that required numerous contacts / conversations to have resolved.

The quality of materials are getting worse year by year, but prices are getting higher. Old houses was better. At least Hıghland still quick responder for issues.

My experience with Highland Homes is as below. Positive experiences - Good plans. I found Highland Homes plans quite good. I think they have made good use of the overall space and good amount of light in the homes. - The construction material is generally good, with some exceptions as highlighted below in the negative section. - The home was delivered before the promised timeline, which was quite helpful. - The Sales Team was quite good and responsive. They were helpful in making some minor changes here and there, although, everything was through a change order. Negative. - Design Center experience was not up to the mark. The available options for upgrade were limited, especially in the case of wood flooring/Laminate. There were barely 4-5 options for laminate flooring and relatively few wooden flooring options. - Quality of workmanship. In my experience few places the supervision of the work was not adequate. E.g. the tiles in the master bathroom were not in perfect level as a result you can feel the edges and not much can be done about it. Also the sod in the backyard was laid without proper levelling as a result there is lot of uneven surface, which is an expensive proposition for the customer after closing which could have been avoided with little supervision. - Material. My observation on material quality is particularly with framing. I noticed in few places the studs used were not very good or strong. I had a hard time installing TV wall mount as some of the studs were damaged. This could have been avoided with supervision. There was a noticeable difference in the framing as compared to some of the leading builders. - Responsiveness. The response from the project team has not been up to the mark. While it was addressed to some extent, but it went down after the closing again. - Value for the price. The upgrades in general were very expensive, including the listed price, while some promotions were applied but there was little adjustment for the steep price drop right after the closing. Overall, I am happy with my home as it built before the promised timeline and like the plan, but there is a lot of room for improvement in the overall customer experience as highlighted above. ... Working with Highland has been a great experience. They truly care about their customers even after the purchase is complete. We love our new home and highly recommend Highland Homes to anyone looking to purchase a new construction home.
