Would not recommend

We had a great experience with all of the team members at John Weiland Homes. They treated us so well and we love our new home!

For the cost of the home, i do not feel like the build quality has met my expectations, nor has builder responsiveness.

I have to give kudos where they are due. Our field supt, Justin Miller always went above and beyond to make things perfect.

There were communication issues throughout. A representative misspoke at one point and they refused to honor what had been agreed upon. Unfortunately, that's what I will remember the most about the process.

I would highly recommend JW Homes / Pulte. Jordan and the team were a pleasure to work with in finalizing our spec home. For the most part, the craftsmanship is very good and there have only been a few minor issues. For future home buyers, make sure that the opening for the kitchen refrigerator is large enough and electrical outlets would have been nice in the closets and more in the garage. Again, the home was already under construction so much of what was in the home had already been specified. All in all, it was a very good experience.

Pulte (John Wieland) is a large company and with that comes cautionary tales from previous buyers that helped guide us through the process. The representatives on the ground are great but they are at the behest of the company. We recommend multiple home inspections - post framing, post finish, and pre-final close to ensure everything was completed. Since they are a production builder and not a custom builder there are a few quality issues when it comes to materials but that's the trade-off. Beware of the mortgage side of Pulte and the incentives they offer. Make sure you know exactly what they are offering (i.e. specific line items) for reducing closing costs or whatever else. ... More

Some of the nicest people I have ever worked with. That being said, my build process experience left a great deal to be desired. There seems to be a gap in the quality control and information flow between the people managing the process and the people executing the process. Highly recommend an independent home inspection - even with new construction - some of the best money we spent.

The construction process was excellent. JW Homes takes the extra steps to ensure the house is properly insulated and built to meet adverse weather conditions that a coastal home may experience. The quality of the finished home is excellent. Paint, woodworking, flooring, tile, cabinets and appliances are all excellent. Follow-up on the punch list items and post closing items has been outstanding. I highly recommend JW Homes when looking to build a new home.

Jordan was professional and responsive to all our concerns

Since we bought the house in June we’ve had nothing but issues. I’ve lived here for now over six weeks and I’ve had numerous issues with the house. Once the house is sold and turned over it seems that they don’t care about the issues and they seem to make you feel like will get around to the issues when we can. Justin has been great and so easy to work with. But he’s only a one man show for numerous projects.

The professionals at John Wieland Homes provided us a stellar home buying experience. The attention to detail is second to none. We highly recommend buying a home in Dunes West from John Wieland Homes.

We were fortunate to deal with John Wieland Homes/Pulte from the beginning to the end. We were told it would take about seven months from contract signing to closing which it did. We were told we would be notified of closing 45 days out and we were. Our Sales experience with Billy and Dana was fun and we felt they were working with our interest in mind throughout. The design process was accomplished with Ann-Mishoe and she was very good to work with. What could have been tedious was again fun. When we moved to construction we first worked with Travis and then Justin for the final four months. We were impressed with their knowledge, attention to detail and friendliness. When issues came up we were told that within JWH/Pulte the code is always to do the right thing which was true in our mind. The couple of things we needed help with were handled quickly and satisfactorily.

Construction is solid. Materials generally good with a few exceptions. Would highly recommend upgrading the kitchen appliances. The Whirlpool models are terrible! Pay attention to the placement of the house on the lot & the spacing between houses. Don’t rely on what’s in the model home to make upgrade choices. Things change. Structured wiring for TV & security system is a good thing to do. CPI did a very good job & have been responsive.
