The salesperson/ analyst were very responsive. The warranty support team is also very responsive. The quality of craftmanship, materials & quality control checks have an opportunity for improvement.

Overall, I'm satisfied with our new K Hov home; however, the process to get there was a tedious challenge that required a lot of communication. Thankfully, the sales and construction team were relatively quick to respond to the issues we experienced. Able to temporarily stay with family nearby, I was lucky enough to visit our house frequently as it underwent all phases of construction from framing to close. Along the way, I identified several critical issues with what was being installed -not with the quality of workmanship as much as the accuracy of following what was specified. If I didn't have the luxury of being able to witness the ongoing construction, then my house would have been constructed with several errors requiring rework. It was not a pleasant experience to feel like I had to be construction manager of my own home. I wished K Hov would send out their QA team regularly in order to detect these issues before I could. I found the overall quality of workmanship, which is confined to the local Arizona labor pool and skillset, to be very mediocre at best. Finishes (drywall especially but also paint) were done very sloppily, not to the quality you expect on a home you spent your life saving for. Home was poorly finished. Broken and missing items incorrect tile installed. Very disappointed

Love my new home. Only thing wrong that I came across was that the color of my house wasn't what I chose, which is upsetting. Also they never showed me proof of what I chose in the 1st place. My guess is the sales person put in my information wrong. So I'm stuck with what I have. Otherwise the house is up to what I expected it to be. Closing and getting everything together wasn't fun. No communication whatsoever until the very last minute, which as a 1st time homebuyer I thought was a nightmare. Would I buy from them again, yes I would. Great customer service but I feel like more attention needs to be put towards quality checks of completed work. I often had to point out things to be corrected that I felt the construction supervisor should have identified and corrected even before I had to mention it.

Overall, it was not a bad experience at all, but it was not one great either. I understand you have alot of homes to build and alot of warranties to cover, but the overall customer service could be improved on I think. There were many times during the building phases and now in our warranty phase where customer service was lacking, or felt rushed like put a band aid over it and move onto the next house that has issues or questions. Please slow down and explain everything to homeowners as they move into a house. Its a major purchase in life.

We wanted to love this process but there were challenges at every step of the way. The salespeople were not as knowledgeable as they should have been and did not communicate as well as they should have given that we have never built a house before. When we brought up concerns along the way we were told things would be taken care of "later" and that "later" meant after we were moved in. Overall, we are happy with the house (the frame and foundation are good) and we got everything we wanted at a reasonable price but not without loads of stress.

This was out first time owning a home that we had built from the ground up. We picked our various colors, etc. Knowing that this house was to mean a lot to us really made a difference. Now that we are in the house, we love it! Selecting, dealing and negotiating was a big impact on us. The sales individual was wonderful, very kind, generous, customer oriented and was very knowledgeable. Once those wishes were submitted and everything else falls to someone at a desk, the journey was not so pleasant. To draw the customer in was great, its the other individuals who need to work on their people skills, throughout its process. To include understanding, knowledgeable of procedures and just down right being pleasant instead of reacting as if it is their next paycheck. We hung in there, and purchased the home we are pleased, however, we wonder if others went through what we went through. ... More

I was surprised at the issues we ran into. Especially the finishes. Painting is really poor. We also had problems with plumbing and lighting. there is a switch in the loft that does not make sense and appears to be a mistake, but it will not be corrected. I continue to find issues.

We had issues with the loan department and sending multiple documents. Seems that they were not communicating with each other. Sales representatives were always helpful. Electrical sockets in both bathrooms weren't tested prior to move in. So they didn't work. Walls needed repairs after the first month as you could see all the nicks, nails etc. The drywall is just painted over. Been here for 3 months and the refrigerator door handle came off. Maintenance requests submitted however, it takes a while for them to respond to them?

We were extremely disappointed at our walk-through and after living in the home. Poor workmanship, poor quality of cabinets, trim, doors.

The paint jobs that they are putting on inside the house are so cheap that when you touch the walls you leave your fingerprints. The paint has been watered down and this has been told to me by professional painters. I have a wall in my house that’s 3/8 of an inch off from one end to the other. We will definitely see whether or not they take care of the problems that are in my New Home. They have been made aware of them and we’ll see where goes from there. As far as the salesman, he is outstanding, and I would write him a 10 every single time, he seems to be very caring and wanting to make sure that we are all happy with our homes. His name is Daniel and I’m able to talk with him at any time about any of the issues with my house. We used to have a warranty man named Randy, that was outstanding, and the young man that took his place. Just seems to want to brush you off and not move forward. I had bought a home in Scottsdale heights phase with good experience. The decided to purchase another home in phase 2. Great disappointment this time around with quality workmanship of tiling, drywall, painting, all sloppy work!!! Yes, of course warranty department stepped in, however, consumed much of my time for miscellaneous vendors to come to do repairs. Plus we have to fight for the repairs, because their vendors including tile, drywall, stucco, noisy a/c unit, kitchen cabinets, and endless list of repairs…they all seem to have one statement the quality is within normal. Love the neighborhood and plan. The sales folks did a good job. The after-sales team has been great.. which is good as there have been a number of issues. The building process itself was the issue. There was a consistent lack of quality. The builder was willing not only to cover up but to lie. Insulation was missing from the wall and ceiling. A water leak at the main was "from rain" six weeks earlier... though no other house had that "rain". Those are just 2 examples of a difficult process. Thankfully, K. Hovaninan IS addressing these issues slowly, but, with honest and quality supervision, there would be fewer issues to address and K. Hovnanian would have earned more stars. The sales people were great. The house/yard is pieced together with the cheapest materials and products possible, and evidently the cheapest labor. Everything will be "military grade" and that's not a good thing. Just enough to pass inspection is a good way to describe it. Keep your expectations extremely low and you won't be disappointed with the quality.

KHovnanian Homes has great sales people and that part of the experience is great. They are helpful, responsive, responsible, etc. Unfortunately, a lot of the experience falls off from there. Most importantly, the quality of craftsmanship is subpar and they have trained their PM's and warranty reps to talk a slick game to get inexperienced homeowners to accept VERY POOR quality workmanship everywhere they can get away with it. If you end up buying from KHov, be prepared to see some of the worst finish workmanship you've ever seen and be doubly prepared for their warranty guys to tell you that everything is "within tolerance" including 1" visible seems in drywall, drywall tape showing through crappy level 2 finish, curved walls, glooped on caulking and any other construction material they can pile on to cover up poor workmanship, You will also end up with damaged cabinets that they mark up with pens/touch up kits to cover up the damage their subs cause on EVERY job, you will spend months on your hands and knees trying to remove all of the construction materials that are stuck to your tiles as they NEVER cover their shoes when coming into your house to do finish work after your tile, carpets, etc. are all in. At the end of the day, they are a production company that cares about profits and not people. Just remember that going in and maybe you won't get your expectations up. ... More

Very untimely response to issues. Three months after close we are still dealing with craftsmanship issues that have been unresolved.

Worst built home I’ve ever had and I’ve had 5 other new homes.

So far been in our place for less then a month and already finding many flaws. Doors uneven and not closing properly. Cheap paint that are chipping, stucco not filled around the exterior light. With a bunch of excuses with why certain imperfections around a brand NEW HOUSE that was just built. At the end of the day you get what you paid for. Quick build with cheap products and materials. A few great folks and some that will provide great service and care. And some that will initially show that they care, but once you close and you receive the keys it's "slow" to resolve issues. Really sucks to feel this way, but as a first-time home owner this was a great accomplishment. Unfortunately, it has been disappointing to have problems arise less than a month in BRAND NEW-BUIT HOME! If you want more customized options and better quality in a home I would suggest looking at other builders. You may have to pay a little more, but it would be worth the extra cost. ... More

This house is not worth the amount we paid for! We still have many touch ups/going over old jobs that these “workers” did. The level of professionalism was at a 2! When we first came in we were told weekly updates/pictures. That didn’t happen! Please make sure before you sign what you are getting in to

The house was NOT ready to be handed over to me and I have a list of over 15 items that need to be repaired with contractors in my house almost daily! The construction team totally dropped the ball and the quality of the workmanship of the house is terrible! I can't believe the amount of defects and things that need to be fixed!! It is unacceptable for the amount of money I paid for this house.

Limited choices in updates for price point of home, Poor quality of installation of cabinets, poor quality in outside stucco and paint of home. Water Softener blew gasket and flooded the garage with 3" of water within first 10 days of move in. Water damage to inside and garage sheetrock, epoxy flooring and baseboards. 18 days later still not repaired. I like the home very much however would not purchase if I had to do over again.

During the process of building there is no process procedures in place to check the quality of work done by venders . I had to bring the defective workmanship to managment of K Hov Personnel and lake of get things done ,before the next step .most thing done just before or after closing .slow respond
