This house is not worth the amount we paid for! We still have many touch ups/going over old jobs that these “workers” did. The level of professionalism was at a 2! When we first came in we were told weekly updates/pictures. That didn’t happen! Please make sure before you sign what you are getting in to

The house was NOT ready to be handed over to me and I have a list of over 15 items that need to be repaired with contractors in my house almost daily! The construction team totally dropped the ball and the quality of the workmanship of the house is terrible! I can't believe the amount of defects and things that need to be fixed!! It is unacceptable for the amount of money I paid for this house.

Limited choices in updates for price point of home, Poor quality of installation of cabinets, poor quality in outside stucco and paint of home. Water Softener blew gasket and flooded the garage with 3" of water within first 10 days of move in. Water damage to inside and garage sheetrock, epoxy flooring and baseboards. 18 days later still not repaired. I like the home very much however would not purchase if I had to do over again.

During the process of building there is no process procedures in place to check the quality of work done by venders . I had to bring the defective workmanship to managment of K Hov Personnel and lake of get things done ,before the next step .most thing done just before or after closing .slow respond

For how long we had to wait, I’m not so satisfied. Things still need to be fixed, workmanship was horrible. You need to hire people that know what they are doing. Covering a grout mistake is terrible. My grout is horrible. Was told nothing can be done. I’m sure I will in time love my house.

I gave 3 stars for their team set up for different needs. There are some good intentions, but lacking quality controls, perhaps, it came from the top. I was impressed at the beginning for weekly conference calls due to COVID, for updates in different phases of construction. There are FOUR poor qualities that I never ever experienced with new construction, but KHovanian, 1. Painting, one coat and sloppy workmanship, exteriors stucco paint was done like a kindergarten coloring, when the painter come touch up, they just put a glob of paint that made it worst. 2. Stucco has spider web cracked all around, i was told construction and service crew that’s NORMAL. 3. Pavers for driveway and no step were not in compliance for safety, again quick sloppy work, tripping hazard. Why no body supervised the quality 4. The easy fix with front landscape but they made into an undesirable offering, just because HOA would take care of it, whatever available on the landscaper truck being flopped down like a muffin tray. No comment sense in that matter. Everything was rushed to close and two major items like garage door was damaged and adjustment was off, made a lot of noise. Pavers driveway and safety no step were all promised by construction supervisor that would have it fixed ASAP, cabinet doors were also damaged. Closed on 7/23/21, today is 9/13/21 nothing was done. Construction crew primary focus to get other houses completed, could careless for my house that already closed, because they already met quota and company already got the money. After the closing, there are several other minor things on punch list, the service team picked up in addition the driveway and garage door. The team was promptly lining up all vendors to take care of things. Except stuff was promised by Construction crew. I felt so uncomfortable dealing with the first guy from service team. I expressed my concern about the poor quality that i mentioned at the beginning, paint, stucco, pavers, landscape, etc. I felt that person was not listening, he was busy talking at me, and told me that kind quality is NORMAL and “that’s why you paid this price” 3/4 million dollar home with poor quality with KHovnian is normal!!! The construction crew also said this poor quality is also NORMAL. One coat of paint, after one or two years it will need to repaint, HOA will increase and we the homeowner will have to pay for it . It’s a perfect scheme from the top. Just because I am a women/non American, I had purchased new construction homes more than average people in the last 16 years in Arizona. The noise from A/C inside the wall in master bedroom is LOUD , again I was told that’s NORMAL. When A/C mechanic came, he said it’s not normal. There’re remedies to fix that, however, builder has to approve it, one month later no one approve it. Just to sum it up, I am very disappointed !!! ... More

The Salesperson was incredibly responsive, she did what she said she'd do and followed up even when the construction crew did not.

do not let them rush your close

Example of issues that should be taken care at the beginning: * door entrance could see light from outside * power in one room did not worked, * outside trim not painted correctly * garage open broken ( did any one tested) * it took 3 weeks to complete the list of the walk before closing ( if I am correct it was suppose to be completed 3 days when we got keys of the house) * we purchase a home to enjoy it not to get point out to people thing they did wrong and have to deal with fixing 3 weeks after closing) * from beginning house plans were not done as we agree . Error by salesman) *

Could do better,if they paid more attention to details.

We recently built our home with KHov, and our experience has been a mix of highs and lows. The sales team was absolutely fantastic, knowledgeable, helpful, and truly made the process smooth from the start. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the Warranty team, which has been disappointing at best. The biggest issue, however, has been the quality of workmanship, particularly with the drywall and painting. The level of craftsmanship is far below expectations with noticeable imperfections throughout. For the investment we made in our home, we expected much better attention to detail. If you’re considering building with KHov, be prepared for an excellent sales experience, but a frustrating time when it comes to post build support and finishing details. ... More

Still waiting on stuff from construction since we moved in! This is the worse experience EVER!!!!!

Once we signed for the house it all went down hill from there. We are just another number they will eventually get to. A long list from the gold key walkthrough was never taken care of.. I’m sitting at just over a month in the house and the list is just as long. Biggest items dishwasher, electrical panel door and my kitchen hardware still not fixed. SMH lesson learned cause now they got the money for the house they don’t feel the need to fix the crap they fell short on

Khov does not hold their contractors accountable particularly their HVAC system. In Arizona, a good HVAC system is vital. Three months in and no solution in sight.

My house buying experience has been truly an unforgettable one. When I began this process, things were pretty much straight forward, seemingly less. Working with Sabrina was a delight, I went the design center, very excited, they were extremely helpful. I decided to use KHOV financing... BIG mistake... From the very first time I spoke with my loan officer Diandra things were chaotic. She called to inform me that she was unable to pull "One" of my credit reports, which I thought was odd since she was able to obtain the other two! She proceeded to confirm my SSN, stating "ins you social 000-00-XXXX? Completely baffled, I asked her to repeat the social, which she did.... Please advise who has an SSN the is 000-00-XXX??? In a different conversation we were discussing my interest rate, estimated closing cost. I asked if my interest could be locked in at the current rate, she answered YES without hesitation, however on the document I was asked to sign, the locked rate was not reflected, when I questioned this, she replies, my apologies, go ahead and sign it and I will correct it before. I believed her. As time went on and interest rate sore, I felt secure, because my trusted loan officer assured me that my interest rate was lock, therefore I had no concerns. In Mid April approximately 50 days to closing, I received a call from Diandra advising me that that I no longer qualify for my home loan because my DTI was too high... With no explanation what this means or even what the next step would be, she asked if I had received a raise, I advise no, she said "ok, let me see what I can do. I'll call you back". She never called back. I was left all evening and night with this, not knowing what is going on thinking that I don't have anywhere for my family to go. After waiting for Diandra to call me back, which she did not.. The process continues to get worse, so bad that I refused to work with her, which required the director of the department Karl to take over. When the loan processor Nicole took over, things got a little better, however the morning BEFORE I was due to close, I received an email advising they have not received my employment verification requesting my assistance to obtain it. As the day went on, although I advise Nicole I will work on it from my end, what was originally request, became a demand, then a threat, stating I cannot get my HR department to send information I will not be able to close on my home the next morning. Fortunately, I was able to obtain the required information. Literally up the LAST moment I had issues with the finance department. I would NEVER advise anyone to use KHOVANIAN financing... NEVER!! EVER!! It is very very sad that the terrible experience I had with the finance department has tainted what could have been a special home buying experience for me. I had issue with Mailbox keys and kHOV has been pointing fingers on others like USPS and they point to HOA & in turn HOA says it's builder who made the mistake. I as home owner & tenant are going in circles from almost 2 weeks and so far we don't even know who owns this problem but the Owner & Tenant is suffering. This is not acceptable, period.

I worked with Shane. He was untrustworthy and ruined the entire experience for me. He/you were inflexible with deadlines and dates. I was not local, and worked during the day. I was lead to believe if I didn't comply with his schedule, I would push my closing back and potentially lose out on the deal. I will not be recommending KHOV for anyone to build. On the positive side - Mark (construction) has been extremely helpful and did his best to help turnaround my experience.

Many of the frustrations from our home purchase came from the financing of the home itself. We were voiced that we would be saving 7k off the price of our home by going through their mortgage lender, and ultimately it was a disastrous experience. I understand wholeheartedly that when selling a home and buying another, there will be many more stressors involved than our first home purchase where our main concern was just purchasing the home. However, the amount of additional (and ridiculous) documents needed, the fact that the home appraised for 15k less than the settled upon price (realistically it was 22k less as we "saved" 7k by using their lender), and the sense of lack to transparency was the most frustrating. Initially the gentleman that sold us our home had voiced we could speak to negotiating the price as well as small features to be included such as blinds and a gas range for the home. Once we decided to negotiate (and they knew we were interested) that changed very quickly to an all or nothing mentality. Ultimately we decided to go through with the purchase price with small features being added in (mainly just blinds). One the appraisal had come through and we were 15k under the asking price, a VP conferenced into the phone and was the epitome of a shady salesman. From the sale of our previous home, we were wanting to put 20% down to avoid PMI, however when the home doesn't appraise the bank won't loan you the full amount so our 20 percent turned into 17%. The gentleman voiced nothing would change to our down payment or our monthly payment so it would be a wash and they would pick up the PMI payment on our behalf as it was "important for the first model to sell high". That is an exact quote. What they failed to mention was that while our monthly and down payment wouldn't change, that 15k was going straight into their pocket and while I knew this is what was happening I wanted to see if he would come out and voice it to us, or if he would hope we didn't have the understanding to see what was going on. Because we did we were going to walk on the property and days later the builder's rep did call us to apologize for the interaction and stated they would meet us halfway. Considering the sales of our home would cause more stress, we decided to go through with it. The mortgage company asked for document after document that we never would have needed through our old lender, and the most frustrating part was having 5 people reaching out to us for documents and then asking the account manager questions about the docs, and them not having any idea who or why they were asking. Lastly, upon the closing documents of our home were to be signed, we signed them based on the agreement we made with the re-negotiated price point and once we went to pick up keys for our home, that closing costs were changed again so we were asked to sign documents once again prior to receiving keys. This led to another few phone calls for that to be resolved. Please remember for the folks reading this review and considering to purchase a new built home, most closing costs go right into the builders pocket (that's why they can waive so much up front) and they are the HOA. This The home itself is really nice and the only issue I have with the quality of work is the paint being so cheaply done. The home we purchased had many less features than we were shown and promised at the time of purchase. Moreover, no one from KH homes management even bothered to reply to our emails and phone calls. Needless to say it was a frustrating experience.

Bought this home new and they keep dropping prices. I’ve lost tens of thousands in value.

From the very moment we set foot in our new home we were disappointed. The house was still a construction zone with literal piles of dirt on the floors, paint splatter, construction dust, plastic, grout that hadn’t been finished, paint that was not done well, outlets that weren’t level, a window that wasn’t square, an AC unit that was physically damaged, scuffed cabinets, warped doors, scuffed handles, mismatched pulls on vanities, faucets that didn’t match, and the list goes on and on. It was as if there was no quality control whatsoever. We have had to report the same issues over and over and over. We have had to send the same pictures over and over and over. We are now 4 months in and there are still issues that haven’t been dealt with or had a firm schedule put to them. We have had ti submit the same issues so many times it has made our heads spin. This home, if done right, is absolutely beautiful, but we should not have been given a dirty mess upon delivery. When we complained, they sent cleaners who were here for less than an hour. When they left, there were still dirty surfaces and paint splatter all over the place. It was extremely disheartening. There seem to be two teams here. Team Construction vs Team Warranty. The constant arguing between them over whose job it was to have something done is incredibly unprofessional. The entire experience from start to finish was a very rocky road. I told my parents not to buy a house here because of it.

Home took more than one year to complete. While this is frustrating, I believe Covid has a lot to do with materials and timing. I did not get the lot I wanted because I was strongly encouraged to get another lot as the one I wanted was supposed to take a lot longer to complete--both mine and the lot I wanted completed at the same time. Such a huge disappointment. The model is misleading. IThe models make the backyard look significantly larger than the reality. Also, one of the building staff told me he thought the lots in the row of homes where mine is located are significantly shorter by about 5 feet which makes a huge difference since the yard is so small. The backyard is sooooo much smaller more closed in than I ever thought possible. Finishes were done very poorly at my walk through that I literally wanted to cry. I am not excited, rather I am left with a pit in my stomach as this was supposed to be a new chapter(our retirement) and an exciting one. Finish workmanship was done extremely poorly and appeared rushed; the reason given was, "we are having a hard time finding qualified and experienced workers." My response to K. Hov--Why am I still paying a premium???? I picked k hov because of the model and sales people. I feel like I was mislead. This may not be K.hovs intent, but this is now my perception. You're getting a vastly overprice "starter" home simply because of market conditions. You get a bathroom with one towel rack for two sinks and no medicine cabinets. You get 10'x10' bedrooms, barely large enough for a queen size bed and a bureau. Their design centers offer limited, but overpriced, selections.
