Overall this was an excellent experience. Just remember you are NOT purchasing a custom home at $400 per square foot. This is a production home built by very experienced professionals. Our home construction was supervised by very experienced and knowledgable managers. It was delivered 6 weeks early. We budgeted the customized features by others after closing. All phases of sales, construction and service are streamlined and tightly controlled. Khov delivers amazing value for the $$! Watching our neighbors homes being built is amazing. Buying this house was a pleasure. The salesperson was great and the construction manager was very attentive. I love the design. The 9-foot ceilings make it feel big and the open-concept kitchen/dining/living room is great. My one qualm is the quality of the paint. I oversaw the repainting of every room in my old place, using Benjamin Moore or Behr or Valspar paints. The paint here is thin. The semigloss is hard to wipe clean and the flat paint is easy to scratch. I expect in years to come I will begin to have the rooms repainted. We were very pleased that the timing from purchase to move in was what they initially projected and pretty much flawless. We were pleased with our new home and the few concerns we had were handled in a relatively timely manner.

Overall great experience- very few issues - minor in nature addressed quickly Surprised granite is not the standard kitchen counter- I have not had formica be the standard since the 1980’s!

The salesman Josh was excellent. Low key ( no hard sell), knowledgeable and responsive. Workmanship on the home was excellent, and when there was one problem the construction foreman Dave had it fixed prior to us having to point it out. Highly recommend KHovnanian.

It has been a good experience. We have had some issues we’ve had to address but most have been taken care of. We would buy from Hovnanian again.

Good experience overall. Closing date was changed twice. Only one issue. Bedroom suite door would stick. Original service date to correct was moved after service did not show up on the scheduled date.

Prior to moving into our home I told everyone who walked us through the home (sales and site managers) several times over the course of four months, that there was a strong natural gas odor in the home. I was told it was checked, however after moving in I continued to smell the gas and became ill with a headache and nausea that lasted days. I called the gas company and they immediately locked the gas meter and informed me the house was never pressure tested for a gas leak and there was indeed a leak. When the pressure test was done the following Monday the leak was found in my bedroom closet. Had anyone slept in the house, they could have died. There was a recall on the electrical panel, that could potentially cause a fire, in June, that had not been rectified before we closed in September. They passed responsibility to the homeowner to contact the manufacturer to correct the defect in the panel. These are serious mistakes that should never have happened. Lastly, they’ve place a large dumpster at the base of my driveway, making it near impossible to maneuver out of the driveway without bumping the dumpster, which we have and caused damage to our vehicle. I was told by management, since September, it would be moved over and nothing has been done. They still have not called regarding the repair of our damaged bumper nor has the dumpster been moved away from our driveway. ... More

Overall KHov was responsive and provides a good product. Attention to detail for a new home needs to be improved by their subcontractors, but in most cases they respond in a timely manner. As in any home buying situation stay engaged and document any issues. The important thing is that they will make it right when something does happen. We love the house and thank the team for the final product.

The entire experience is ruined because of a few issues. It shouldn’t be so hard to get in touch with the warranty person. I’ve called several times. These are not nail pops, they are large issues and KV should be more responsive to their customers who invested a lot of money in them.

Much better than quality workmanship than I expected . Vicky was very helpful throughout the process.

I love my house and the development. Vicki has been great in helping with everything. She is the best and very responsive. Fred was also very helpful. I do not like the color of the paint on the walls and ceiling. I wish it was pure white. Also, I wish the sod was done better. Overall, I think it is great.

Kenny and Giuseppe were both extremely friendly and easy to work with.

We found that every facet of the purchasing and settlement process was extremely well done and professional. Despite KHov being a national builder, the journey felt close to home and had a home town feel.. Our one relatively significant community concern was the sod/irrigation system which thankfully has been satisfactorily addressed, however, the communication for this item could have been somewhat more open and fluid. Other than that, we are living the dream in our little “bedroom” by the beach community!

All things above were well taken care of. Questions were informed and answered quickly. Our realtor was wonderful!

Not able to lock in the mortgage rates the day I put deposit. Other builders in the area will let you do it. End up increasing my payment by $300. Many unresolved issues with the home. Worker damaging my deck by going in and out with material and dirty work boots. Also Khov telling me that the lawn wasn’t the responsibility. The lawn was full of weeds and corn plants plus bare spots the day of the closing.

This was not a good experience. Poor workmanship in home from framing issues, to air conditioning, sprinkler system, overall poor communication through the home buying process

Communication was pretty good in the home buying process but lost closing not very good. The paint and mud were very, very poorly finished. That’s been our biggest disappointment.

My sales consultant was great- I received progress photos every week, and quick responses. The house is beautiful!

We had a great experience working with k-Hov builders. Our home was completed when promised and they were very attentive to any issues we had after we moved in. Our immediate punch list was very short.

Elizabeth and Tracy were the absolute best I have ever bought a house through. Elizabeth “ held my hand” all the way through. She was there at every step of the way with what ever I needed. Kenny is on top of everything and still is. Helping where ever needed. It has truly been a pleasure buying this house because of these great employees. You are lucky to have them.

The overall process of buying a home from KHov was relatively easy and stress-free. The sales team guided me through the process of the various steps along the way and I was kept up to date on the progress of the build through weekly pictures. We had a few initial issues (as is always the case with new-builds) and they were addressed right away. Everyone along the way (sales, builders, designers, etc.) was friendly. Probably my only issue with the KHov process was that the standard cabinets, flooring, and fixtures were incredibly basic / cheap, essentially forcing an upgrade on almost everything. The sales person Vicki made and continues to make the entire experience a pleasure. I cannot say enough great things about her. Now that we have moved in we are very pleased with the homes quality so far. The only issue is the gas fire place does not work and we are still waiting for it to be repaired or replaced. Other than that we are very pleased.
