was a disappointing and stressful experience . I will say that PM's and help line jave made good with 90% of punch

The people involved with the process were Excellent, I am disappointed with the craftsmanship of the materials we chose K Hov because of the excellent reputation but the products and materials used I felt could of been better.

The sales professional Jay was terrible, Lied to us multiple times, Very Upsetting process starting out. It would be a more honest way of doing business with people to allow them to look at your showroom before making them put up a deposit. Brian was easy to deal with, good experience there. However the builder did leave us with several large dead trees in our yard that are tagged orange to be removed. I expect someone to come remove these tree's as its the right thing to do.

KHOV does not allow future owner conduct professional inspection before closing. A red flag .They promise you one year warranty after the purchase; however, half of the issue they push it back as cosmetic. I hired a professional inspector after the closing, 55 pages report with pictures of findings. Some of those , according to the certified inspector, in violation of code . Some of the contractors do not respond for months.

Unfortunately Khov did not provide a great home buying experience. However they did follow through with warranty and responsive to repairs. Quality of craftsmanship was lacking as well as value for your money. Their Looks Program had no room for changes, which in our opinion does not equate to a custom home.

Misleading between model and actual purchase. I think the quality of the products and finish work are for the most part not high end. Supervising contractor on site was helpful but restricted in ability to accommodate. Too cookie cutter in construction. Not high end finish products even though that was what I thought I paid for. two weeks in and still many open ticket items and waiting for replacements. Especially upset about the granite installed. I have posessed many homes and used granite for kitchens and baths. NONE have the staining from water that I am dealing with now. Too many issues yet to be addressed. ... More

Check everything before commitment.

We paid cash to buy this new home and there was no gas pipe before moving in. no one aware it and the builder just called us to move in. The manager just only wanted us to close the escrow right away, and he did not care about the house was not ready to move in at all. The kitchen was not finished, the windows were damaged, and there were many floors trip hazer, 14 windows sills were damaged, and we cannot even move any furniture into this house, we paid the windows covering and cannot be installed because the window vendor refused to do repair work for this house. we were asking for repair every day and the builder tried to intimidate us and even claimed that we refused to do any repairs. there were 20 roof tiles were broken; the pavers of the entry ways were uneven. and the builder said no inspector allowed before closing the escrow, after moving in no lawyer allowed for mediation. we are very regrated to buy this home, I was admitted to the ER due to this stress, why we had to repair this new home every day after moving in? No one from the builder can help us, and we cannot rent it because the builder refused to finish paint the wall and the doors. too many blue tapes of this house. no realtor is willing to rent it for us. What can we do? we cannot enjoy this new home, and we were very stress for repairing this defective home day by day and month by month. All of the room had a problem. Do NOT close until everything is perfect. They are unresponsive and ignore you after you close. My a/ c is broken My cabinet is chipped Holes in interior doors Outside stucco missing Wrong grout Uneven tile We have been in our new home for 3 months so far NOTHING has been fixed. Garage floor is leaking because it is tilted and we are getting water in the garage. Front door warped, does not close properly. Interior doors warped. Again, do not close until your home is perfect. We came for our final inspection and they had not even cleaned our home! Kept asking us to close and promised that “ we got you”. Yeah they “got us” ... More

We paid 40k for an upgrade in kitchen that got delivered with missing pieces and for explanation we are being told that manufacture is not making the complete pieces now . But again you sold us and we paid for it and now we should get it or we should either get a refund .

Overall the construction process lacked independent quality control. Warrenty manager is trying to respond but does not have any staff hence no schedule of completion existed or provided. The local head of sales and construction lack courtesy to return calls and has been non-responsive. The house was not prepared at the closing and major Items of punch list at walk-thru provided prior to closing is still outstanding after 90-days we are in the house. I provided ample opportunity to them to complete the list but no luck. Cabinets in the kitchen are falling apart and not soft closing. Cabinets below the main counter has loose parts and no one can answer from KHOV when they will be corrected. Windows are below norm. One window is different than all others. Bugs are crawling from the window gaps such that we have to purchase an indoor bug-zapper that runs whole night. My wife and I are Seniors past 70 Yrs and did not expect such treatment from any builder. We have kept enough patience and I hope you send this review to a right individuals at KHOV that can help us soon by expediting the resolution of our problems. With this being our 5th new build and first with KHovnanian I can say they are by far the worst. Their workers are inexperienced off the street people who obviously do not know what they are doing and not skilled in the job they are doing. Painting and grout was horrible. We get no response as far as getting items that were wrong or never done. I would never buy another home from this builder again.

The septic System failed in 5 days with only me using it. I talked to neighbors who said that the system was dug up just days before I took ownership which is deceitful at best. . The house is uninhabitable and thank God for Publix toilets. Run from this builder.

1 Start is too much. The sales process rushed us through decisions, lied, and then had absolutely no accountability after our decisions were made and they messed up. We made several trips to try to hold the teams hands and help the process go more smoothly. Once our contract was signed, we made sure to monitor the progress and were amazed at how incompetant the GC (John H.) was, and how the labor was unqualified to perform general duties. After being rushed through the closing process, we were asked to hide issues so employees "would not get into trouble" and told they would make sure we ended up with an acceptable product. We were also told that K. Hovnanian only looks to make a profit and really is not the builder to choose if you expect any quality. The focus is on speed and profit, at the buyers expense. Since closing we have encountered: A driveway that has 2 feet of consistant standing water Two roof leaks Damaged drywall due to leaks Not functioning A/C Shower doors and tile installed incorrectly leading to flooding and tile damage No grass planted in major areas of the house (Mud and erosion occuring) Several electrical components not functioning Poorly installed cabinetry (we fixed at our own expense) Doors that don't close Several plumbing leaks Appliance installed incorrectly and not leveled No working hot water ...
