We had a wonderful experience except for the fact that we have been waiting since April 9 (move in date) for a yard to be put in. Our driveway was done in early June and we were told the yard would be about a week later. It is now July 9 and still no yard, just dirt, rocks and construction debris. Brand new builds on the road behind us, with no one living there have had their yards installed already. I understand that they need to sell those homes but they already have our money for our house. This should have been completed much sooner.

My experience living in the home

My experience with ***** has been incredibly frustrating from start to finish. Throughout the process, I felt that ***** handled is*****s backwards, communication was unprofessional, and my concerns were often dismissed rather than addressed. There was dried mudding compound left on my kitchen countertop that was never cleaned up, and when I raised concerns about what appeared to be urine in one of my toilets, I felt my concerns were dismissed as simply a water backup, despite my family's construction experience. The most upsetting part of this experience was the day of my grandmother's funeral, when company trucks blocked my driveway, causing me to miss a significant portion of the service. Not only was the situation devastating, but I never felt that the impact it had on my family was acknowledged. Instead, I was questioned about my tone in emails after repeatedly trying to get is*****s resolved. Overall, what should have been an exciting home-buying experience turned into a stressful and disappointing ordeal. Based on my experience, I would strongly encourage anyone considering K. I have nothing good to say about KHOV, I regret this home purchase everyday.

Nice homes and good neighbors in the development.

Initial buying experience was good. Connie was fantastic. Unfortunately once the sale was complete it feels like they just completely dropped us off their radar. We had a set timeframe to move in due to work constraints. I completed what they refer to as a gold key walkthrough and noted many items that needed to be completed or fixed. Around half were left undone. One of the most annoying issues being that the washer and dryer that came with the house were never hooked up. Waited weeks for necessary parts, that were missing, to be dropped off only to have to do the hook up myself due to timing and availability issues. The washer ended up being defective. Took more than 2 months after we moved in to finally have a working washer. The house was also supposed to have a cleaning done prior to our move in but was never done. We have been finding more and more things off with the finishing in the few months we have been in the house. Cracks in the corner seams, nail pops, trim that was cut jagged and never fixed, areas that appears to have never been actually painted, etc. I have also noted recently that the thermostat installed in the house reads about 3-5 degrees colder than what the temperature actually is, once again small but adding to the pile. We closed at the end of October and our issues have supposedly been sent further up the chain but as of the beginning of February we still have yet to even get so much as an I'm sorry from anyone other than the sales person we initial delt with. I have no doubt that we can turn this into a home, but it's going to take a lot of effort on our end that, for the amount of money, shouldn't have to be put into a brand new house. We also had an issue in the past few weeks where paperwork for the loan was suddenly "not detailed enough" for the financers and needed more info after our mortgage was sold off to another company before we had even made our first payment. I am not usually one to complain and am generally a very accommodating person, but the overall experience with KHov has been pretty disappointing. ... More

Did not take care of requests to fix problems with the house.

Victoria and Josh (construction) were absolutely amazing to work with. Everyone else was not great. I hated the title company we had to work with because KHOV wouldn’t allow us to use a different title company. Our lender was even worse and would not respond or answer questions and when he did it was not a positive experience. Our actual home is gorgeous, however we have had things break or be broken upon move in and it’s been really annoying to deal with when it’s a brand new home. My advice to you is to do your research, make sure it’s the perfect house, and bring a realtor.

Basement was not cleaned well. Concrete on grinder and sump pump

Our salesperson Doug was amazing throughout the many months of buying! Be careful about buying a seasonal build (Winter built house and closing early in the year). These get zero priority with installing driveways, grading, grass seeding, and landscaping. We’ve been moved in for over 3 months and all we have is a fresh driveway, sidewalks, and just dirt everywhere. All our neighbors are in the same situation. All the new and current builds are getting everything complete before even being sold. In this time we’ve had one screw in a tire fixed with a patch, another screw in a different tires sidewall causing a mandatory new tire, and concrete being flung on one of our vehicles with nothing being done yet after a few weeks. Better than a Ryan home, but still a builder-grade home!

We moved in for 4 months ago. Only last week did they pour the porch and driveway. We do not have sidewalks yet and the yard is still a mud pit. Making home buyers wait for these items that we mortgaged 4 months ago is a poor business practice. A baseboard installed has a gap meaning it doesn't meet the wall, there is a gap. There are other similar small issues that show rushed or incorrect work.

From the beginning to the end, Doug has been both professional and a valued friend. He directed, assisted, and suggested when and what I needed regarding documents and finances. There was great teamwork involved when the "hiccups" occurred, but KHOV worked with me to obtain the beautiful home that I now reside in. The models and styles are lovely. I love the whole package and plan.

My biggest complaint is that we moved in February knowing that we would not have a yard or driveway until spring. It is frustrating now to see quick move-in get landscaping and a driveway,prior to those that have bought earlier in the year. We did know that if your home closed after April prior to you moving in, you would have to have a driveway and landscaping completed. I understand that, but I don’t understand why you continue to build homes that have not even been sold and you’re not completing the work on homes where families moved into prior to April.

Have been very happy with our new home. Upgraded one toilet to a name brand, our choice. So far no issues with anything else.

WE PURCHASED OUR HOME WHILE LIVIVNG OUT OF STATE. MONICA, OUR SALES REP WAS GREAT THRU THE WHOLE PROCESS. SHE ANSWERED ALL OUR QUESTIONS IN A TIMELY MANNER AND SOLVED ANY ISSUE AND CONCERNS WE HAD. ONCE IN THE HOME, DOMINIC AND HIS STAFF WERE GREAT. VERY FRIENDLY AND KNOWLEGABLE. WE WOULD RECOMMEND KHOV HOMES TO ANYONE LOOKING FOR A GREAT HOME IN A GREAT COMMUNITY.

We love our home but we can't wait for the building all around us to end and we get to meet our new neighbors.

Whenever there is something wrong that they need to fix they do not fix it. You get blown off every time and get the run around.

Monica and Dominic were great to work with. When issues came up both of them handled each problem to our satisfaction. Nothing is perfect when building a home. But we are very satisfied building our home with KHOV and would recommend them to are friends and family.

Builder Profits by offering lowest acceptable material and quality and cuts corners wherever possible. The lack of options for better quality paint and material is disappointing.

Horrible quality of workmanship and cheap products put on home

From start to finish K Hovanian made it simple and pain-free.

Very cheap materials used. Final grading has debris that is left behind from construction including slate rock; yard is unusable unless you have an extra $10k to put into your yard so you can grow grass. Warranty department seems to take complaints personal; the main person seems to be more administrative than knowledgeable on home repairs/issues. There’s no communication on when things will be done and if they give you a date, they don’t follow it at all. There seems to be no leadership and no inspections after each trade. Spend your money elsewhere!
