The team overall was very helpful throughout the home buying process. Brandon Rolko was very upfront & down to earth while advising us and Bob & Kayla did a stellar job communicating throughout the build process and addressing concerns. There were some minor issues such as door framing that did not get fully resolved but overall we were very happy. Wish we would have known more about options communicated upfront, but we came in with an initially lower budget than we settled on. It was not clear to us that we had design room visit ability which would have been nice. The home build was much faster than expected and we had a good experience getting graded. We were lucky to settle on a home of our price in the current market, but did find it a bit expensive. I first want to say that our sales person Melissa is absolutely amazing and an asset to your company. When we had trouble reaching our construction managers, she was able to get them to respond. Up until the point that we got our keys, it was an amazing work relationship. Once we received the keys, things did not go so smooth. The communication was not very good. When we had problems, Melissa would be our go to, but it shouldn't be that way. Of the construction managers, Jeremy was the best with communication. All I need is a text, email, or phone call that says they are working on this or that. Don't get me wrong, we are very happy with the house. We have found ourselves doing a lot of work outside at the end we didn't expect. Yes, we have the keys, we own our home, but due to the poor communication we have more to do. It would be my suggestion that people not accept the house until all work is completed. Again, overall, we are happy with the construction of our house! It is well built. I went nearly every day to watch the progress. They appear to have followed the code and did a good job with construction. Melissa is an amazing person and we are happy we were able to work with her. We're very happy with our home however there are some issues that shouldn't exist in a brand new house... some of the painting was never finished. the garage it was rough patched and never finished it should be finish patched and atleast ready for paint. They told us 2 weeks ago the front porch would be finish and were still waiting on that. The final grade isn't done and we have standing water on the back and sides of our foundation. All of these issues should have been addressed immediately for the amount of money spent on a new construction home. When we Raise concern over the issues it is as if it is no big deal but it is a big deal and we are beginning to be come frustrated hope someone takes care of these things immediately ... More

I believe you need to walk your home 1-2 times per week to check options selected, quality and workmanship. You need to notify your builder weekly on what concerns you have and follow up weekly that they are addressed. If this happens you will get a home that looks good!

Builder not very flexible with ideas outside of their cookie-cutter plans.

Look into the contracts very well.

Overall, a good experience… we were not a fan of the transition from production to warranty… we found several small issues that our construction managers could’ve handled quickly and easily after moving into the home but they more or less turned their backs on us and insisted we contact the warranty department… we understood they needed to press on with the continued development of our neighborhood, but little things like that go a long way for customer satisfaction and will play a part in any future home buying needs, along with recommending this builder to family and friends…

Everyone we interacted with was great. I am however not 100% satisfied with the quality of the work in certain areas such as the floors, garage foundation and others. However, the warranty department has not come to my home to review and hopefully fix these issues. For now, my rating right now is what it is but will hopefully improve based on my experience with the warranty department.

Better than Ryan homes

All the the people that represent KHov were great to deal with from our sales person Leah, to Kelli in the design center through Steve and Jacob our construction managers. Updates were provided as promised and easily understood. Steve was awesome to deal with! Rough carpentry was actually a little better than we expected but we do have some concerns based upon what friends and neighbors told us of problems they experienced a year or two down the road. Time will tell what if any issues we experience. Finish carpentry was nothing spectacular and we feel could have been done better. Paint job was ok but what we didn’t understand was when they said the walls get 2 coats of paint we didn’t realize the 1st coat was actually what they considered the primer coat. Warranty has been very responsive to the few issues we have had to date and easy to deal with. The steps leading up to the gold key orientation and closing were very disappointing in the presentation of how the house was cleaned and prepared. We were not happy with the cleaning and the cleaning contractors that were used were not good. Anyone purchasing a house should be prepared to spend a good day or 2 cleaning. There was no sparkle! We love the house but for what a family pays for one of these homes the new owners should expect and receive a home that shines from bottom to top. ... More

Ryan was very good at communicating with me throughout the build. Once i moved in if i had any questions he would respond in a day. He was a pleasure to work with and has helped me throughout my move into my home. I did not give KHov 5 stars on anything due to the sales rep. I am just now finding out that there was a build option that i could of added to my house that was never told to me by sales even after talking about my plans for the house. Now i have to look for outside work and since i am new to the area it is a hassle. It is annoying and now nothing can be done but me searching for a contractor. Other than that home looks good. ... Steve has been a great help throughout the whole process very responsive. Unfortunately other than that construction managers have been moved around and we eventually had to have Keith involved and now have his direct contact so hopefully things get fixed 7 weeks after gold key presentation.

Before the keys are handed over make sure everything is ready for the homeowner

We had a rough start with the planning of our home. The wrong design was submitted, and we weren’t told about the siding color restrictions. Ultimately everything was corrected and we are very satisfied.

We built in a new home the before the build process went very smoothly. The build itself went fast and was completed ahead of schedule. We have run into few issues since moving in and every time someone comes to fix or repair the issues we’re told it’s not their fault and someone else has to come. Only to ignore the issues in the home.

We had several minor things that need repair. We moved in July 20th and are still waiting to have these issues resolved. They are minor but it is aggravating that we can’t get someone to fix these small issues.

Overall a good experience. There were some minor hiccups and misleading details, but not that big of a deal in the end. I feel I got a great home for a great price.

Sales manager (Marlene) and construction manager (Keith) were great. A few bumps along the way, but that’s to be expected. The recommended mortgage broker was a NIGHTMARE. Would not recommend him to anyone.

So the staff determined that my first review had to be redone because I named directly who was the problem. Well how else can you fix the problem if you can’t identify it? Let’s just say we are extremely happy with the house, but completely unhappy with the loan process. The financing process. The unnecessary stress process from there person handling the finances. I hope this is better and complies with your restrictions.

Victoria and Josh (construction) were absolutely amazing to work with. Everyone else was not great. I hated the title company we had to work with because KHOV wouldn’t allow us to use a different title company. Our lender was even worse and would not respond or answer questions and when he did it was not a positive experience. Our actual home is gorgeous, however we have had things break or be broken upon move in and it’s been really annoying to deal with when it’s a brand new home. My advice to you is to do your research, make sure it’s the perfect house, and bring a realtor.

My biggest complaint is that we moved in February knowing that we would not have a yard or driveway until spring. It is frustrating now to see quick move-in get landscaping and a driveway,prior to those that have bought earlier in the year. We did know that if your home closed after April prior to you moving in, you would have to have a driveway and landscaping completed. I understand that, but I don’t understand why you continue to build homes that have not even been sold and you’re not completing the work on homes where families moved into prior to April.

To start off there are only 2 outlets that were put in my entire basement. So I will eventually need to hire an electrician to install more outlets. The master bathroom had the cheapest worst looking single vanity I had ever seen. I had to buy a new double vanity to put in & hire a plumber. There is so much wind around that there is noises that happen right outside the master bedroom bathroom when it’s windy. They did not tell us about sealing our countertop in the kitchen so I had to learn the hard way. I figured they would have had the countertop already sealed for us when buying a new home, or at least tell us about it. Our building manager forgot all about us the moment he gave us the keys..moved in Sept 2022 and still no grade approval no explanation no follow up.

It was not understood about the timeframe involved in picking your selections. When we thought we had 3 days to cancel the entire purchase - it was 3 days to make any changes to the initial construction floor plan. We wanted to make further changes after the 3 days and were not allowed. Didn't make any sense since the plans are basically the same and no monies were spent. The appointment from the initial construction choices to the appointment to pick your selections within the house should NOT be far off. This will allow you to know the Total amount that you are really spending - up front. Our basement sump pump broke during construction and the basement flooded causing major damage to the concrete finish and further damage was caused by the construction crew using acid wash trying to fix it. It has been a big struggle to get resolved - still waiting. Our home looks beautiful, our basement looks 40 years old and looks like a dungeon. ... More

The lines of communication were lacking during the build. Many upgrades that a typical person would like were not options. Once the process started there were no changes allowed. Once the house was completed the yard was never graded and remained a mess for months. This builder doesn’t help with the outside at all, even though they tell you they will. After moving in, there are design flaws with kitchen storage and electrical outlets in the master bath and the basement.
