I love the house itself. But very poor responsiveness from builder, sales and title company

Wonderful experience all the way around. We love our home . Better than we envisioned and hoped for. And the process was full of great communication from start till this very day. Highly highly recommend

The entire process from booking to closing house was tiresome. I booked my home in November and the delivery date was in March. But I got the house in August. Each time I talk to the builder the house was getting delayed by a month. I understand the delay was because of delay in raw material, labour, city and COVID but as a customer it felt frustrating. The quality of the house is pretty good. There were minor things which builder took care immediately. The builder team were pretty helpful and informative. They delivered what was told. I had some minor issues when I went ahead with my own lender rather than builders lender but it was resolved in timely manner. I would recommend this builder to any of my friends ... More

The process started out well but quickly declined in the areas of communication, integrity and quality. Very poor craftsmanship and supervisors are not managing and being held accountable for workers poor work.

When I started my home search I was sold on the brand, quality, and reputation I gathered from conducting some extensive research. As I discovered after going under contract with K Hovnanian Homes this was not the home buying experience I would have expected from such a reputable builder. Starting from the Area Sales Manager (Invisible) to the VP of Sales. When I had concerns about the construction start of my home the VP of Sales was very defensive /argumentative trying to force me to cancel my contract demonstrating poor craftsmanship after closing on my home. Damaris, Jodie, and Lissette made sure they our home buying process was smooth. My husband and I were able to close on time!

Patty was amazing helping us through the process. She was attentive to our every need and helped out as best she could, going the extra mile all the time!

The sales process was rushed with many material information provided seemingly on an ad-hoc basis instead of thoroughly explained at the outset. Materials used for the construction feel cheap, especially the upgraded kitchen that comes at a material premium, and the stairs and the bathrooms, which are visibly deteriorating only a few weeks after moving-in. The main issue for us is the quality of the finishes. Despite the best effort of the builder's team, it remains below par. Responsiveness to issue, honesty and willingness to assist from the builder's team has been outstanding. Buying a home is a big decision, take extra care on your decision when purchasing from Khovanian, What they think is completed vs my completed are vastly different. If I had to do it over, I would not pay for upgrades and I would use that money for contractors to come in and do it correctly. Their construction division and project management team is broken, they do not manage expectations with the customer. When you get your keys do not expect a clean home or detail work to be completed. I’ve lived in my new home for a month and they still need to paint my trim work, paint all the interior doors and get markings off the kitchen counters. I feel the painters were amateur and not professional. I have paint on all the mirrors and the amount of paint on my new floors is ridiculous. If I had to do it again…I don’t think I would!! ... As background, I have moved around the country a few times and have worked with a few builders previously and so I have some perspective on the level of service and expertise generally provided. That being said, I would like to take the time to point out the exceptional service that the entire K Hov team has provided. The level of care and attention to detail he provided is truly exceptional. Considering all of the difficulties associated with the Covid-19 pandemic, strained supply chains, and crazy weather in the Houston area I would have expected some unavoidable deficits in service. To my great surprise, this was not only not the case but the experience K Hov provided far outpaces any previous experiences I have had. Starting with meeting the buyer representative to the pre-construction meeting, throughout the entire process to cloising, the buyer rep, foreman, and finance team were knowledgeable, professional, and highly detailed. They remained in contact with us throughout the home building process and took the time to go into detail about every aspect of construction, home care in the Houston environment, and thoroughly explained the warranty coverage. We had a high degree of confidence that when the team said something was being done, we simply knew it was being handled. We truly felt that the K Hov team exercised the same level of care in building a home for my family as he would have if building his own home. At no point in the process did we feel anything other than completely in good hands. K Hovnanian not only know their craft but also know how to talk to people and help them with one of the biggest purchases they will ever make. ... More

Shouldn’t have bought a home during Covid. Structurally the house is great. The fit and finish is the worst I have ever seen for $400,000 house

The sales professional Jay was terrible, Lied to us multiple times, Very Upsetting process starting out. It would be a more honest way of doing business with people to allow them to look at your showroom before making them put up a deposit. Brian was easy to deal with, good experience there. However the builder did leave us with several large dead trees in our yard that are tagged orange to be removed. I expect someone to come remove these tree's as its the right thing to do.

Our experience with Khov went very smooth from the beginning. From our great customer experience with the knowledable Melissa who helped us choose the best house options for us, the design center appointment (we were able to mix and match whatever options we wanted, the basic options are basic but still nice enough where you can deal with it temporarily until your ready to upgrade it on your own time), to our amazing building manager Steve who kept us informed and walked us through the whole process. There were a few minor bumps in the road for example the carpet installation wasn't the best (few installed corners look rough not smooth and you can tell by the stairs where they cut a piece of carpet and tried to blend it in with the rest)shutters are still on back order (we were informed of this from the beginning due to COVID and supply shortages) and missed appointments with repairs afterwards to the siding (We were told siding repairs were going to be done in a few occasions and no one ever showed). Thankfully Dominic our building was on top of it all and smoothed things over. Overall communication was excellent. and we LOVE our new home! I would recommend anyone to build with Khov anytime. ... What stood out the most through the building process was Diana's assistance in explaining construction terminology and answering routine questions. I am very grateful for her continued assistance.

Great experience purchasing in Creekside Preserve. Susan was extremely helpful answering questions throughout the process. Ashley and Jody were very patient with us as we made our selections in the design center. Bob has been a great construction manager to work with. He was very responsive towards items we felt needed to be addressed and understood our expectations for quality work. Overall wonderful experience.

EVERYTHING WAS DONE WELL EXCEPT FOR THE KITCHEN CABINETS FOR WICH I AM STILL WAITING FOR THREE TRIMS MISSING

We feel very satisfied for the entire process. The sales people and the project manager are very nice and very helpful. The house is high quality and value. It is good price for retired people like us with the good quality. We checked the job site and communicate with the builder's team frequently. The project manager is very nice and patient. He helped us to solve the problem quickly. Our house roof is very tall. We were worried about some problem and made appointment with the regional manager. He listened our question carefully and explained to us patiently. We were very satisfied for the result. If any buyer have any problem, he/she should talk to the managers. They are very helpful. ... This is a great builder.

I have to say the best part of the buying/building experience was the Sales team, Neesha and Claire. As a first time home buyer, I couldn't have done it without them for so many reasons. I had never done this before and they were so patient and friendly through the entire process. I was there almost daily throughout the building and never once did I annoy them with my visits and millions of questions, but instead they welcomed it! I am super indecisive and they helped my indecisiveness and guided me off their experiences both professionally and personally with building. They made the experience so much less stressful than I think it could have been or expected. Scott andJoe from construction were both incredible as well at answering questions. we have received good support and guidance from the sales manager. They provided weekly updates on the construction status. wherever any delay happened due to delay with construction materials, this was clearly communicated to us. Even in this challenging time with shortage of construction material, the house was completed on time without much delay or any cost increase to customer. Quality product delivered on time! As a new home buyer we had lot of questions and which were all clarified patiently by the sales manager. Kudos! we expect to get same level of support from the warranty support team as well. ... Elizabeth Beard was amazing to work with and was always very responsive and supportive. She is the one bright spot in our whole process. We understand that Covid delayed our settlement and we closed 6 months late. The way it was handled and communicated to us by K Hov was horrible. We were given inconsistent information. The workmanship on the house is sloppy and there is a lack of attention to detail. It is still a very frustrating process trying to get things fixed that are unacceptable.

Sales representative are not friendly and not helpful at all. No respect to buyers at all. I know this is the sellers market but the way they are treating buyers is not good. And also point to be noted is Property Manager is not responsive and no firm rules at all. This is the worst home buying experience I never faced and also ever heard from anyone this is kind of hassle in buying home . Totally disappointed this journey of buying home at villages.

The home is built in a hurry. It is great to be on time, but some details can be improved.

I was well informed about the challenges the market is experiencing. Even with all the challenges with brick and lumber KHOV completed my home almost on time.
