Overall, I had a pretty good experience with the whole building process.. There were some issues along the way.. Primarily communication regarding status updates and repairs.. I’m assuming due to job turnover… However, I just wanted to take a moment to recognize my loan processor, Ben B. He has been the best part of the entire building experience.. I say this because he was always prompt in informing me of any changes, he was always honest with me with good news or bad news (that awful interest rate spike), and he was always available to answer questions or explain terms I didn’t fully understand. He kept in contact with me every step of the way, and again helped me understand the how or why behind the decisions I needed to make financially. It is also very obvious that he stays privy to all areas of the process as there were several times I heard about construction delays or problems from him first.. Days in advance before hearing from the construction/sales coordinators.. Ben understood that communication was the most important aspect to me throughout the home buying process- as I could absolutely understand delays and hiccups that were inevitably going to occur- so long as those delays were communicated to me. Ben did a phenomenal job from start to finish, and I want to wholeheartedly thank him for his hard work and efforts that made buying a home with K. Hov a happy experience. The process was very fast, the builder kept you informed weekly, the loan process was very detailed about what they was needed to process your loan. Overall you will enjoy your home.

Bill was very informative and helpful. The questions he could not answer, he got back to me right away with a bountiful of information. He was honest, and candid about how Hovnanian operates, what was in scope or not but always went back to the team with our requests. This was one of my better experiences while shopping for a new home.

Matthew and Buddy are very honest and trustworthy. Two very easy people to do business with.

It was a smooth process buying a home, sales agent was very helpful and professional

our experience with Vicki our salesperson was great from the start. She was always responsive and friendly. Our construction manager Fred was also fantastic. He made sure that the punch list was completed. We did have some issues with electrical and hvac when we first moved in (things that should have been checked before closing) but Fred and Paul got the trades out quickly to fix these issues.

The on-site sales staff were efficient and curtsey. The loan processor worked closely with me to iron out the few issues that came up regards to my credit. At first, I was concern that all of my financing was being considered long distance to another state but we found ways to work around the time difference.

Sergio who was the builder or project manager to the build was what made this experience a truly good one. Very responsive, informative and educated in what he does. Very grateful for Sergio

The builders have done a good job in building our house. Material used can be better for the price we have paid. Our salesperson June was really helpful throughout the process

Unfortunately, I wasn't the original buyer so I didn't get to pick out any of my home's features. Even though only the frame work was up and nothing else, I couldn't add or subtract anything. I paid a higher price than the original buyers without any of the "perks". Thank goodness I liked what had been picked out as far as the coloring of the flooring, paint and exterior. However, it would have been nice to at least add some features like toilet paper holders or exterior lights over the garage. All the staff understood my frustration and could only quote back that to me that I wasn't the original buyer. : ( ... More

We recently purchased a home in Roseville. Our community, Firefly is non HOA and neighbors are friendly. Our builder’s agent Tracee and construction manager were awesome and responded promptly to questions or concerns and gave us updates as needed. I just wish that a patio came with it but that is an upgrade! Our house came with some upgrades and kitchen looks fabulous. It is a smart home and would have been helpful to get more specifics on this. We are, however, disappointed KH warrant service department. We requested assistance with. a few things and only received emails that a manager would contact us. So far no one has called or responded. There was a broken piece on the fence before we moved in and that is not fixed yet. Also fence paint job by the subcontractor is awful. We will need to fix that. Other than aforementioned issues, we are happy with our new home. ... More

It was a good experience. Wasn't perfect but it was good. I would recommend this neighborhood and the company that built the homes here, K.Hovnanian.

The whole process was stressful but it is over now.

With exception of the challenges facing the entire construction industry; it is clear, like everyone, delay on the home delivery/closing and turn around communications was frustrating. But we are extremely pleased with the end product, the home quality is excellent, and the customer service follow up in addressing the issues has been wonderful. Special thanks to Dave, the Sales Associate for his patience in dealing with our numerous calls/emails complains of the delay and his support in working us through the process to completion. Also to the Finance team; Tammy, Jessica, Marica for their timely feedback in making sure we closed on scheduled. I'm sure, they certainly don't miss my numerous emails/phone calls inquiring about the raising interest rates, and when can I lock-in...?lol. Finally, Ed and Dar, the construction Team; walk through/follow-up details, and explanations to ensure we're completely satisfactory with the home quality and installs. Overall, we are pleased of the KHOV home product and designs, more so why we selected them for this constriction journey of our dream HOME. ... More

I am glad that I chose KHOV as my first home.

I want to start with the fact that overall I am happy with the home. The overall process was fairly good. We did have a last minute delay with only a couple (2 or 3 I can't remember exactly) weeks notice which caused my family to scramble at the last minute to find a place to live. What is most frustrating about the delay is that it was something that could have been avoided with better planning. All KHOV needed to do was to ensure that the gas meter was installed in time instead of waiting until the last minute so that they didn't incur carrying costs with a gas bill. The construction of the home has the feel of quality building and we do not hear people talking or walking from across the home. The materials used are not the most expensive around but are of good quality. Although during construction we asked for KHOV to add 1 ethernet cable to one room that we were going to use as an office and we got the run around. Instead of telling us no, which is what ultimately happened, they strung us along. Apparently running a $20 ethernet cable was too much trouble for them. The design of the home has good flow and having 2 bedrooms with private baths gives us more options. The design of the kitchen and bathrooms were both done well. Even the kitchen cabinets are of good quality. One issue with the design is that we have a white backsplash with a cream colored countertop, I mean who does that. And no we did not have a choice in these options. Even though we asked about changes we were told the process was too far along, even though they were still studding out walls when we bought the place. The finishing of the home is sub-par at best. Some spots I would even call very poor. The flashing around the outside of some of the windows looks like the caulk was put on by a kid finger painting. The interior paint has plenty of drip spots and is so cheap that is is not cleanable. It appears to be eggshell so that it helps to hide the sheetrock finish imperfections. We will need to have the entire interior painted at some point. I have pointed out a lot of the negatives because those are the things that stick in your mind so I want to be sure to set the record straight. I am happy with this home overall and if given the chance I would purchase it again. The home has a great layout, plenty of windows and we love the double ovens in the kitchen. Great home for the money. We are very happy with the home, the construction and the whole process. Great people and a great business.

The house is well built for track type build - they have a lot of detail in their builds. Their plans are good for older folks like us as well as first home buyers. The use of K. Hovnanian Mortgage was relatively easy as compared to other mortgages I have taken in the past. I would buy another KHov home. Nice job KHov all around....

My experience was a smooth process with the exception of some hiccups from the Sales Counselor Pros:: Temporary Solution:Rectified situation regarding backyard by mailing seeds for grass growth to my address. Cons: Used Condescending Language which was offensive. I am a military veteran and she expressed from her experience most veterans would not get approved for a certain loan amount amount thus exceeding A mortgage amount. I was shocked and appalled. Then she proceeded to ask me about my annual salary. I thought it was quite distasteful and unprofessional. I would recommend that she educates herself regarding veterans and not placing stereotypical connotations regarding whether or not veterans can purchase homes within their affordability. Jumping to conclusions that veterans dont make a decent salary to purchase homes that she may deem out of their financial bracket is unacceptable. ... More

The entire process from signing the contract to closing date was good. The communication with the sales person, construction manager was very good. Hired a private inspector to review to 3 stages of construction and his opinion of construction quality was much better than many builders. Any issues that came up were resolved in a timely manner. But the biggest issue i had was network cabling for home network. The electricians pulled cat6 data cable. They used electrical boxes instead of low voltage boxes in the wall. The cut the cables in the wiring closet with only 30 inches exposed. The even pulled one data cable i paid for and them removed it when sheetrock was installed. They would not allow me to hire my own cabling contractor. The result was i had to rip most of it out and do it myself after closing. I do "IT" support from home and need a reliable home network. Building out a wired home network would have been much easier during framing but was not allowed to do so. Other than the home network problem the outcome of the overall build was pretty good due to the weekly verification of work and communication and initiated with sales and the construction manager. ...
