For the most part, all was well until closing. As I was very clear to my salesperson that I would like a clear understanding of the process for closing. I was not clear about the process leading up to a day or two before closing. I was receiving multiple calls by multiple individuals about the closing date however closing dates had been changed by the builder on several occasions. When I needed an extended amount of time I was given no alternative but to pay an additional $3,700.00 upfront for days that I did not use. When I wrote a check, I was asked to give a cashier's check which was not stated in my contract and I had given a check for the earnest money. After closing my salesperson did not conclude our business with as much as a thank you card or a welcome to my new home package. Finally, the person at the closing (title company representative) gave me the Family and Friends Plan certificate with no explanation. Took quite awhile to get started, however we only closed 1 month later than originally predicted.

Jeremy, Meredith and Nia were awesome and were always doing their best to find out the answers to our questions. They made us feel comfortable and talked us through the whole process as best as they could.

Great home

We purchased a Spec Home so we were not involved in the design process! We obviously liked the design of the house and the amenities that were offered. One note that I state as the materials is that because it was a spec home I was a little disappointed in the framing materials that were used and observed during the process. The houses I have witnessed that have been purchased to be built appear to have a better quality framing materials from my observation. All other materials seem to be of equal quality and we have enjoyed the design and amenities.

Tricia, Art and Kristen have been excellent! We have found some of the workmanship to be a bit shoddy. We feel certain that the issues will be corrected.

The sales team was outstanding to work with. If you use them as a lender, sometimes their are issues with communication with loan officers during the different stages of the loan process especially during the end of the company fiscal year (October). Overall, good experience.

The Villages at Red Mill Pond is a great community!

some of the work is just thrown together. It a production not done with care.

Helped a lot with the purchase. Made it simple and easy.

I was disappointed with quality of craftsmanship (especially the masons bricklayers). Katrina and Buddy w/ KHovnanian have been great dealing with other then the poor masons poor craftmanship my experience been great.

It has been one month since we moved in. We had no major issue, except one week delay due to electricity permit from the town. K. Hovnanian paid for our hotel for that week. The house is beautiful, well done. After we moved in, we had our own inspector to do a report and it came back clean. Also, we had our home insurance sending their rep to check on the quality of the structure and windows and the same results – well built. The only branch that made us wonder was the Escrow Company. My home is solid and tight and overall lovely but the details, the ones you pay big for because they are lumped in packages or you were charged for making a modification, are sloppy and/or missing. Upgrading a room means paying for the layout, not upgraded materials as you will still pay for those at the design center. The design center offers a few options only, especially at the grade 1 and 2 levels. Even when upgraded, things such as knobs, kitchen faucets and shower doors are extra. The electronics office, picking out internet/automation/lighting/securtiy systems is super high pressure and not enjoyable in the least. Both design center and electronics were beyond slow at getting the materials to the me/office putting my build behind schedule. The building though was efficient and fast. Once built, the trim work in the home is sloppy in areas. Things like nicked wood or raw edges on trim are covered in spackle and painted over. Nails showing or popping through wood, and cracks in cabinets are left unattended...it's careless construction in what could be a perfectly beautiful home. The landscaping is basic and done with very inexpensive plants, cheap trees, too many shrubs. Overall, I do like my new home and the people I worked with are very nice and helpful. Home looks good. Materials used might be cheap for the price paid.

Overall experience has been positive. Unfortunately, the settlement company did not send proper paperwork to the water company and the HOA. We settled on October 28 and our water was cut off on November 28 the day after Thanksgiving. Of course, no one was available to assist us because it was a holiday weekend. Our goal was to stay a few days but had to return to Bowie, Md. We returned to Delaware on Monday. After numerous emails and phone calls the water was cut on at 3:15 pm.on Monday Thanks to Nick and Tom for being empathetic and caring. It was would have been nice if the company had offered accommodations elsewhere in Delaware. We are experienced homeowners and have never experienced this level of incompetence. Obviously, someone dropped the ball. Hopefully, no one else will endure this unfortunate experience. ... More

Overall it was a good experience!

Very happy with our purchase and the home that was delivered to us.

Not very responsive, organized or proactive about repairs/fixes but customer service is friendly. Great value for the home and it was beautifully built

The mortgage company was difficult to work with but the work was good and the house turned out great.

It would be nice if the where explain since the house was only frame o give us a tour at least before the moving in

Overall experience was great... Jean, our sales rep was great, couldn't ask for a better person to help us with whats really a big time consuming and stressful process....Rich, Greg, from corporate, helped out with getting some things taken care of in the build process, so was our production manager Steve...and Ryan...as a contractor I know how difficult it is to mange a build, deal with subs and then deal with customers....Steve does a great job....We are happy with the quality of the home, probably the best built "new Construction you can get without going semi custom or custom built...My wife and I are happy in our new home.... P.S. The Experience with their mortgage company was why they didn't get 5 stars from me and I would probably need a much "bigger incentive" if I ever needed to go through them again...completely unprofessional, i felt i got my mortgage, at 711...sorry 711... ... After settling in to our new home we have notice more little issues with finishings. Between excess spackle around ceiling lights to a rough area on the hand rail for the stairs. It has been the little things we have noticed now. Just the fit and finish we thought was great at first is not the best. They have been quick to respond and fix any issue we reported. They care that we are happy with our home.

Overall I am having very positive experience with K.Hov. K.Hov team is very responsive and supportive. Having issues with some appliances and K.Hov team is very helpful to address those issues.

We bought a move in ready home which was not custom for us but has a lot of beautiful upgrades. The KHOV design staff made the house to suit a large family and guest areas. Although we love the house we definitely would do a few things different. The Garage is small and only able to park one car inside. I would suggest the extensions in all directions if your building. We found out our gas meter is to small and needs upgraded to a larger size. Khov brushed over the 20 ft easement on our property. But I guess we should have read better. What’s behind the walls we will never know. Since the house was already built we are trusting the workman ship is good. Fingers crossed.but like any home already built new or old it’s always a gamble. But the sales team was impressive and answered any questions I had and bent over backwards for us every step of the way. I would definitely recommend KHOV over a lot of the other builders. We love our house and our new neighborhood. And we are happy that we choose KHOV. ... More
