I am pleased with my condo but struggling getting used to that kind of living. My sales person was not in the right job but the fiance people were great and the warranty guy is very helpful. I would only caution to asking detailed questions for complete understanding of expectations. Finishes in condo are standard.

Buying a new house does come with added stress but when that stress is increased due to the lack of updates or lack of attention to issue with no updates or evident issues were corrected and a lack of communication — just unacceptable!! To add to this when you purchase a tech package you expect that the wiring is work vs more out of pocket cost and time & effort you have to put in. To add more to this debris that the trades leave behind that gets blown around is just disrespectful to owners and unacceptable that the builder is not stepping up to recognize there is an issue.

My 3rd new build and the overall workmanship and materials are below average for new construction. Pretty disappointing for the price paid. The paint chosen is literally the worst, it wipes off just by brushing it with your clothes. Not to mention the painters, it seems like a four year old could have done a better job. Paint on the floors, in the carpet. Trim paint on the walls, wall paint on the trim. We had(have) places where the grout does not match for all of the same tile work. The color of grout doesn't even exist anywhere in our house. Had to spend multiple hours cleaning and fixing carpet, Khov did not correct it when pointed out. Same with the paint on the floors and handrails. It became more of an issue asking for it to be corrected than just taking care of it myself. ... More

Frustrating small details we didn’t see: Kitchen cabinets not screwed correctly, missing gaps in sealing seams by staircase and bathroom doors, and the door knobs are falling off the upstairs doors. The design and construction are outstanding. Excellent safety features and beautiful small details.

The team was helpful during the early stages, and communication was generally prompt. However, there were some concerns regarding the finish and detailing in certain areas, particularly in the bathrooms. The quality of work and the bathroom floor plans and options did not meet my expectations, with some of the detailing appearing inaccurate or incomplete. Additionally, even though we signed the agreement knowing the plan and options, the paid amount does not seem to match the options provided. After adding $100K in upgrades, the house still doesn’t reflect the luxury look we were aiming for. Cabinets in bathrooms, kitchen are not a good quality materials used. garage doors are also not a great quality. I believe improvements could be made in quality control, attention to detail, and ensuring that the final result matches the investment. I hope these issues can be addressed for future projects, as the team has the potential to deliver a more satisfying experience.” Few options like shower area lights in bathrooms should not be an option to be chosen by the buyer! Furthermore, even after paying millions for the home, we are left with additional work to complete, such as painting in the garage and addressing the landscaping. The front trees, for example, are quite spiky and not what we envisioned. Additionally, we opted for a finished basement, but only half of the area was completed. Many issues with this new home. Electrical issues, craftmanship, you can tell the home build is rushed and no pride is taken by the people completing these homes. Baseboards not pained completly , tile on the floor cut to short and filled with grout. Stucco on house cracked. Perimeter fence very poor quality, exposed nails all over, split boards or boards not even nailed down in places.

Poor quality and overpriced home. I can only give five start to their service and warranty department. I really had great experience with Adam and his team. Without his help, I will give 1 star.

Three months after moving into our new K Hov home in the Satterfield development in Felton DE, our experience has been a mixed bag. While the design of the house looks modern and attractive, big and small defects like the cracks in the concrete front porch and garage and the caulking around joints (windows, kitchen area, bathroom, etc.), the uneven finish that leaves gaps/unsealed holes around the undercabinet lighting and steps to the garage and crawlspace, the paint dust on the walls that stick to your skin when you brush against it, etc., are ugly, unacceptable, and jarring to see. While some small issues which we've reported were promptly acted on, a major gutter issue was explained as "installed per specifications" despite evidence of defects having been presented. The initial service issue was closed arbitrarily without us knowing it. When the issue was reported again, it is now largely unacted on, basically "ignored", assuming it will go away. We've also reported some health and hazard issues in their worksite that spill over to the residential sites (e.g., work starts before 7 am - earlier than the legal start time, with the heavy banging and rumbling of the earth moving machines early in the morning and constantly throughout the day; heavy dust storms that are aggravated by the speeding dump trucks carrying soil and gravel; thick dusts on the streets that become mud when it rains and can cause accidents to pedestrians; overnight parking of heavy machinery around the residences although areas near the worksite can be used - this causes a thick smell of gasoline to blow to the residences; littering around the houses being built and dumpsters' contents spilling to the curbs and streets at times, etc.) To be fair, the Sales Manager we bought the house from. although he had been reassigned to another K Hov community, reached out to discuss our issues and arranged for some mitigation measures (e.g., street cleaning, having the construction company tell its drivers not to speed, manage overnight parking of the heavy machines away from the residences). Although these are a good start to some respectful and responsible worksite management practices, K Hov should have a system in place where its ongoing construction work does not alienate homeowners, give rise to health and safety issues, and devalue its brand. ... Very Cheap materials. Everything in the house was the cheapest materials possible.

Be prepared to install all the ceiling fans and lighting. The only built in lighting is in the bathrooms n kitchen. The kitchen lighting would be great IFF there were multiple control swtches and circuits. There is only one circuit so all the lights come on. No separate switch for the island lightng. Under counter lighting works nicely as is on its own circuit. The porch deck is poorly thought out. Too small for normal deck chairs. Only enough room for one person. Flooring on deck is open plank and all the porches are vertically aligned so the drip upon each other. Many windows good natural lighting but only single sash. Can only clean the interior. Interior paint is the cheapest flat white paint available. We had to purchase high quality HIPA FAN/FILTERS to collect all the dust/flaking paint particles we stirred up as we moved in. We repainted both bathrooms with a high quality semi-gloss to avoid moisture problems. ... More

My home buying experience was overall smooth. I definitely wish I knew more especially since it was my first time purchasing a property. There are some things that could have been done a lot nicer and taken more time before moving in such as crooked door handles, toilet paper holders, and outlets.

My experience is mixed I feel they did a good job on most of the build, but cut corners in some areas, like no soap dish in showers & no cabinets in laundry room. But my biggest complaint would be not treating everyone the same. Everyone that needed a retaining wall and fencing got one except for the four that needed it the most. Large extra expensive that the builder refused to split the cost of. Buyer beware

We moved from Charlotte NC here because we love the area. The transaction was horrible because of our sales rep its seem to be discriminatory practice on his part and as a representative of Khov. Overall Experience was saved to a three rating because of our Foreman would of been a zero.

We love our location and floor plan. As far as the 6 month process from ground breaking to close of escrow, I would give the sales and construction team a "C" Grade

Warranty manager is great but the house is way over priced

Overall, prior to purchasing my home - working with the builder was a good experience. However, it wasn't until I moved in that I found miscellaneous items that should have been fixed prior to me seeing the home. For example, I have spots of white paint on my gray walls - in several different places in my home. Because they are small and towards the celing areas, I didnt notice it during my walk through, Once I moved in - I reported it and was told paint is not under warranty. I am asking for mistakes made to be corrected and I was told no. I encourage the buyers to go through the home with a flash light because there was a lot of sloppiness in the work performed. If you dont catch it prior to closing, it will be a challenge to have it corrected. ... More

Overall experience bot good and not so bad. First of all, I supposed to close on my house in 10/30/23 and I closed on 01/30/2024. Secondly, I had an electric issue and outage in my house. They sent electrician every time I requested wasn’t able to fix the problem for over 2 months. Outage happened few times while guests were there. I had to pay fine and they didn’t compensate me. Bad experience, bot recommended

Buying experience would have been better if not for Khovnanian's insurance. They did not notify us that we were not approved for insurance until after closing!! Totally unprofessional as we could have gone to another insurance prior to close. It was stressful knowing that we closed on our house but not insured. Horrible!! Heads should roll in the insurance department.

Alan our builder has been very responsive to any issues. Unfortunately when we moved in, our master shower had to be redone due creaking noises. Other than that, our door handles have fell out, most of the material used is builder grade so it’s cheap. The workers for Alan don’t pay attention to detail and missed many painting spots in our home, that we had to have touched up. The seller of our home was terrible, would put tasks on other people, unresponsive, and definitely in it for the money only. Nice home now that we have added our own custom finishes and hardware. Good starter home, wouldn’t live here for longer than 5 years due to how close the homes are to neighbors. ... More

The people I have interacted with have been fantastic. This company has been nothing if not personable. The house looks fantastic. However, the longer I live in the house, the more I begin to see where corners were cut. Plastic nuts on brass screws are a recipe for disaster (especially when it comes to water lines), but yet, that's what we have. The front steps have been placed on top of the dirt out front with no retaining wall for said dirt, meaning as it rains, that dirt underneath the steps is eroding away. There were no handrails put in for the front steps, and where they could have asked if we wanted back steps, they chose instead to put a barrier over the back door that's something of the eye sore. Basically, if they had the responsibility to cut corners on materials used or to simply say, "Not our job," they did it. Overall, it's a great house, but those cut corners seem to be multiplying, and as they do, it bothers me. ... More

The KHov finance office was not a good experience. The KHov sales rep gave us some incorrect information. We have had three different project managers as KHov builder reps, for the most part they took care of our initial issues but since we’ve pasted the 45 day mark we can hardly get anyone to answer a phone or email. We still have a list of items from the state building inspector that has not been corrected after being turned in 30 days ago.

Unfortunately, our experience was just a little nailbiter. The timing of our unfortunate situation has caused us financially, However, we do commend our sales rep Don for helping us through this situation. Sorry this couldn’t be a better to review because we love our home!

Based on the personal buying experience I have mixed feelings. On the good side, I can commend the sales team, the construction superintendent for the final construction phase, and post-closing service teams. At the same time, there were a number of opportunities for improvement. The house is mostly open frame (very few chip boards to reinforce it). Was quite surprised to see that at this price point. The construction resulted in quite a few deficiencies due to workmanship issues. Some of those took extra time and effort to correct. The selection of upgrades left a really bad impression due to the excessive amounts the builder wanted for some of the options. Finally, the lender team offered non-competitive terms for the loan. So, while it is clear that some of personnel really care and apply themselves, a combination of unskilled trades, and company policies contributed to the less than perfect experience. ... More

Difficult to get an accurate date for townhome to be completed. Unit is very well built structurally, layout is great. The finish work inside is average. Air conditioning unit wired incorrectly, many interior paint issues, all doors need to be worked. There are additional items. Working with warranty team. They are very responsive. Trades should take more pride in their workmanship.

To start off there are only 2 outlets that were put in my entire basement. So I will eventually need to hire an electrician to install more outlets. The master bathroom had the cheapest worst looking single vanity I had ever seen. I had to buy a new double vanity to put in & hire a plumber. There is so much wind around that there is noises that happen right outside the master bedroom bathroom when it’s windy. They did not tell us about sealing our countertop in the kitchen so I had to learn the hard way. I figured they would have had the countertop already sealed for us when buying a new home, or at least tell us about it. There was also a wooden block stuck under our carpet for a while before somebody came out to remove. ... More
