I experienced poor customer service on repair issues

The poorest quality home I have ever bought. It was supposed to be new but the quality of the crafmanship leaves a lot to be desired, specially the painting job, sloppy and poor quality paint. The paint over frames is full of crumbs, that will require sanding and repainting . I was told that buy as it is after I had put my downpayment. The person responsable for responding to issues was excellent, The windows would not open and they came and fixed them almost all. Problems with a breaker they also fixed, overall very responsive.

Majority of the materials used interior (wood) is of not good quality. Few items were installed in a way that could cause danger to kids. Not at all happy with warranty team. Always give one or other reason for warranty tickets

Builder did not have drip pan under AC unit causing ceiling saturated with water

We purchased our brand new home in March of 2024 and although we pay our full HOA dues, we have lived with mounds of dirt and dying landscaped trees for the past 4 months! We realize this was considered “Phase I”, and there would still be construction however, the horrible lack of landscape around our home doesn’t warrant us paying FULL HOA fees for services that clearly don’t align. We were told things by the sales team that turned out to be false and ended up costing us over $2,000 above and beyond what we expected to pay! As for the home itself - we love it! Everything was GREAT in the beginning, but when it was time to really get down to the paper work, signing things went off to another level. We decided to go with the builders lender, to get all the perks they were offering, however in the long run i wish i would have stayed with my realtors lender.. They amount of back and fourth on paperwork, due to getting lost or asking for additional things wasnt the issues it was the fact you had us sign closing papers and then retracted the sale because the builders lender didnt have their documentation organized or miscommunication with the lenders team. When buying a new home its stressful, i understand the amount of paperwork that is required that wasnt the issue at all.., but you should never have a new home owner sign closing docs, then call them 1 hr after signing thinking we are on our way to get the keys to our NEW HOME to say, sorry we had to retract the close because we forget, or we now need additional documentation.. My husband and i looked at each other and both broke down, how can this be?? So we went into immediate - backup plan at this point.. we were able to get all the documents need and FINALLY got the keys to our forever home.. Ihope no one else ever experiences what we did.. it was stressful, very upsetting.. I also must say, for the amount of $$ these homes are being sold for, there should be some type of landscape in backyards, or at least have the backyard level, and pick up nails and trash left from the builders workers, and maybe think of putting Gutters on the homes, insane this is not something they do on the new homes.. best of Luck to anyone else who purchase a home.. ... We do like our new home but unfortunately there is zero response to issues. I would expect some issues but a timely response would go a long way. A brick fell off the house several weeks ago and it’s still sitting there. We moved in on March 1st and still do not have a graded yard or any communication as to why newer homes around us have been graded/seeded and ours is still dirt. Everyone has garage door hardware but not us. Some not exterior painting was completely missed and left untouched. That’s not a huge deal but it’s adding to our irritation. Don't jump into anything. There are many new builds out there, with many new communities (and builders) to select from. Do your due diligence in researching before jumping into anything.

As first time homebuyers, my husband and I expected a much better finshed product, however we were sadly disappointed. Khov's home building process is rushed and the workmanship is poor. The quality of the work does not reflect the "new constructed home" we dreamed about.

Our options regarding architectural design of the home were not explicit right from the beginning. The visit to the "Design Gallery" as well as the "Sight and Sound" agency, where selections of the "Digital Communication Systems (including Security and phone/internet providers), shapes, styles and quality of interior fixtures' materials and other "finishing" specifications ought to have been done and customers' preferences pinned down and priced out before binding Sales Contracts are signed. This is because we ultimately signed the sales contract agreement and paid the required deposit before visiting the "design Gallery where some of our needed selections were unavailable. The salesperson insisted that since the contract had been signed, our choices were limited to what were available. Otherwise, failure to choose from the available limited options, would lead to forfeiture of our deposit. Two toned interior painting of the home which was marked to us in the sales brochure, was discontinued when it was time to build our home. So only one tone color paint was used for our home. Thus we felt short changed. While waiting for completion of our home, the company in the interim, had a special sales program that lowered the sale price (by $38,000) of the same home model as we bought . The sales person refused to make any adjustment for us to synchronize with the advertised new sale price., This refusal occurred despite the fact that construction of our new home, was yet to start. It was nice that the builder completed the home construction on schedule and we moved in as planned. ... More

Everything from the price to what’s included, to getting fixed done by warranty… the story keeps changing. Make sure you get everything in writing. They’ll still give you a hard time. “Oh did I say the appliances are included, sorry it’s $7k more!” “Management said we can’t fix your microwave anymore, I know it’s weird”.

Is that all you care, here you go. Buying and paying cash for a home is not it’s just not buying it, you are expecting to have a great finishes and not to have to experience so many construction defects like the one I bought from you. The poor quality in doing smooth finish to any home is critical to your industry, you should be looking into more details as to what your contractor are doing in regards to the finish of any project. If you like you can offer me a job and I can help you in supervising your projects so you don’t have to be spending additional workmanship and expenses.

The home had too many issues to be handled after move in.

House was delayed 3 weeks, which was an issue for multiple reasons. 1) Almost no communication from the construction manager, and sales agent who promised us we would be taken care of since we were moving from out of state; 2) because of the delay, since we were moving from out of state we had to find lodging during the interim since we timed our previous home sale to the promised delivery date; and 3) previous house closed the Wed after Thanksgiving and the so called "Gold Key" turnover was on 21 Dec. As you can imagine there was not much time for a thorough inspection (not that it appeared the builder had done one) and we are still finding issues. Initially when we were first looking at the properties all was wonderful, then our representative ghosted us days after closing without a word when we needed her most, we noticed the poor craftsmanship of the home almost immediately after moving in, doorknobs falling off in your hand, constant knocking noise from the walls, paint splatters on floors, doors wilted all around with dents an holes, carpet pokes, tiles separating, grout splatters, leaks, electrical issues, the list goes on an on. We expected so much better from KHov, they really need to put more effort into the quality of their homes. ... More

The buying process with Khov should have been straightforward, but we faced several challenges. Our salesperson was not helpful, and the tight schedule made it difficult to thoroughly review the contract, closing details, and warranty information. There were discrepancies in the final delivery, and negotiation was off the table. The salesperson has since left the community, likely moving to another. Overall, it was a stressful and disappointing experience purchasing a new build with Khov."

The contractors use low quality products to save a buck. This has proven to cause several problems and continues to cause more. The quality of doors are subpar, electrical outlets, switches are being swapped out as well. The trim crew through things together and doesn't match up seems etc. The doors have flaws and are never installed evenly so they look twisted etc. Even the yard has issues and I've been trying for 2 months to get it corrected. If I could do it again I wouldn't buy from them but I'm I did so ill keep pushing to get things corrected best I can.

I was pleased to buy this house. Quickly that feeling passed after moving in. As stated in the title, the house has had many nagging structural issues. It’s like the builder found the cheapest materials and the least experienced construction workers to build this house. The door brace that leads to the garage wasn’t nailed down, the kitchen cabinet wasn’t nailed down; there was a gap between the door and wall that allowed crickets to enter the home, the floor strip between the bedroom and bathroom wasn’t secured; wholes between the wall and staircase; neglected to install a wall plate for the outlets in one of the bedrooms; nails are still sticking out in one of the bedrooms, now ceiling and wall is literally separating in multiple rooms. Distinct lack of transparency when it came to final numbers for mortgage. Specifically mislead or omitted HOA payment increases scheduled but not disclosed. Back yard has tremendous amounts of construction debris that was never removed. I.e. brick concrete shingle parts Left with dead landscaping and trees that were incorrectly planted in front yard.

We were extremely disappointed at our walk-through and after living in the home. Poor workmanship, poor quality of cabinets, trim, doors.

Sales – Experience had been good, but it could have been better. We requested for few must have items to be included and not to provide everything in white but none of these were considered. Now it has become impossible to keep those white cabinets and countertop clean and white and we are spending almost 2 hours every week. Bathroom fixtures are mismatching with faucet chrome and light black finish. Fans and daylight LED discs were not added so now we’ll have to spend thousands (4 times of original cost) on installing them and existing light fixtures will go in waste. We paid the highest for this model but didn’t get what we were expecting. Selection of bricks, island, countertop, cabinets, bathroom fixtures is poor and didn’t think through while selecting. Construction – Lot of things were done in a rush, paint, doors, floor, kitchen tiles and electrical outlets. Doors are making creaking sound already. Vinyl floor seems uneven and making noises at some places when we walk over. Before GKO we pointed out some issues, but construction didn’t take care of all those items. Doors are very quality and rough edges. Now we are spending several hours every week to call Warranty team and then again spending time to make sure those are fixed properly. There are few items which can’t be fixed now or will take lot of efforts to fix. Mortgage – Experience was frustrating and not transparent. Even with the best credit and excellent history we were imposed the highest possible mortgage rate. Still not sure why there was a charge for rate buy when the rate applied was already way higher than the market rate. Looks like having a good credit became disadvantage for us. ... More

The home I have is OK but not great. The home buying experience is disorganized and not well managed. It seems knob is a co!election of units not in any cohesive. Fixing what comes after the sale is a lot of excuses for not doing things like calking or uneven heating. I could do a better job than current management and I am a retired engineer.

The paint jobs that they are putting on inside the house are so cheap that when you touch the walls you leave your fingerprints. The paint has been watered down and this has been told to me by professional painters. I have a wall in my house that’s 3/8 of an inch off from one end to the other. We will definitely see whether or not they take care of the problems that are in my New Home. They have been made aware of them and we’ll see where goes from there. As far as the salesman, he is outstanding, and I would write him a 10 every single time, he seems to be very caring and wanting to make sure that we are all happy with our homes. His name is Daniel and I’m able to talk with him at any time about any of the issues with my house. We used to have a warranty man named Randy, that was outstanding, and the young man that took his place. Just seems to want to brush you off and not move forward.
