I was little shocked that there was no independent QA (Qaulity Assurance) process for the finishing work of the build. There were many small details poorly finished (dry-wall spakle sanded poorly), not painted properly (could see through the paint) and some damaged materials that were not replaced. The builder is not very responsive to issues after closing.

Model is a bad example of what you getting at your home

The model home isn’t what you will get if you get what the model have for your home. We bought pretty much what the model home had and sure enough there are little things they didn’t add because it was just part of the model only. Something simple such as the cabinet crown molding off the kitchen (drop zone area) isn’t part of the price paid for- plus we upgraded the cabinets! There reply was the designers added that. Dead Bermuda grass.

Since the house sat unoccupied for a minute, the grass behind died. They replaced the back grass but didn't replace the grass infant and behind. House was fine but I moved in with horrible grass. Called and messaged the construction manager a couple of times after he promised to replace the side grass but hasn't. Even the front grass didn't look attractive at all. Now I am stuck with dead grass on the sides of my house and horrible grass in front. Sales guy was the best tho.

Very disappointed in the finishing touches of the house

We are very disappointed with the overall finishing touches of the house. In our walkthrough we noticed the interior of the house had to be almost entirely repainted. You could see the paint roller marks where they tried to touch up the paint. On our final walkthrough we noticed the paint was better but that the paint bled onto the baseboards, windows frames and the ceiling. There was also a lot of paint splatter on the white tiles. Find another Mortgage Lender

The contracted builder for this home was fantastic, however the mortgage side for this company is horrible. KHOV Mortgage forces buyers to use their own 3rd party resources. The company’s representatives do not respond or handle matters diligently. It is so hard and frustrating to get into contact with anyone in this company. Please do not use this company.

Run around on getting issues corrected in a timely manner. If the home owner does not follow up multiple times nothing happens. Even then the odds of getting if fix are low. Half the time they pawn you off on the sub-contractors.

I was very disappointed in my experience with K Hovnanian homes. As a single mother, I chose K Hovnanian above other builders as I believed they had superior workmanship. During the building process, several issues arose, none of which were dealt with in a satisfactory manner. Each time I was pacified with a promise to look into the issues, then when I followed up several times later, I would be told that it was now too late in the process. I've witnessed Kids doing construction on homes.

I moved into my house during Covid and have been having work done since. The contractors are slopy and I've witnessed children working on the homes that are being built around me more that once. I feel the sloppiness of the contractors that KHOV are teaming with should be reconsidered.

You can hear everything between the first and second stories, even others using the restrooms. There needs to be more sound barriers added between both floors. The back yards should come finished . That’s a lot of money to come up with after you just used a lot of money for the purchase . It’s should come in the price

We were very disappointed with our new home. The workmanship and materials were not what we expected for the price we paid for our new K. Hovnanian Home. Some of the issues -- the paint was thin, the carpet and pad are low quality even though we paid for an upgrade; the seams on the carpet are sticking out in most of the doorways; the grout work is very poor quality; a couple of the bathroom sinks were chipped and the repair work was shoddy at best; the frames of the windows and sliding glass doors are stained with paint/sealant and were not cleaned; and the house had not been thoroughly ...

Strung along to Closing

There was an amendment to my lot decreasing its size that was not disclosed. I asked KHov about a lot line discrepancy a few months before closing, and was ghosted by the salesperson. Just before closing I was texted a picture of a new site plan that they said was being approved by the City. This too didn’t match what was eventually shown on the legal property description. It was clear that the KHov team didn’t want to correct this, and was only trying to string me along to get to the closing date. Unfortunately, the only manner of correcting this issue is litigation. The buying process was not smooth, and the sales rep had a bad attitude, aggressive and not helpful really at all. I was lied to about a couple of different things during the closing process by the sales rep, and came to find out my neighbor had the same experience. The home has a lot of cosmetic flaws, with poor paint jobs, drywall, roof, concrete, and trim being damaged. Since I've moved in, I've had to put in at least 10 warranty claims, and it has only been a couple of months. It sucks because I really like my house, but wish it were of better quality or craftsmanship.

The sales person lacked knowledge, was pushy and borderline obnoxious. The loan process was ridiculous (even according to other loan officers with no vested interest, including ones who experienced it first hand.) And, I'm not referring to debt to income ratio or overall income. Working with Khov mortgage was awful and ruined our experience of buying a first home. From the very moment we set foot in our new home we were disappointed. I was initially verbally induced into signing a contract by the salesperson who told me the whole house had blinds. At the final walkthrough I was told there were none and the sales person said she was wrong and I should have read the contract. Their responses to our issues after we closed was unprofessional and they made us feel as though our concerns were insignificant. Worst post sales experience and longer closure of construction issues

Had worst home closing experience for my property I had purchased in Virginia. Hand off and co-ordination was a total chaos, disorganized experience. Encountered Construction issues and it took weeks to bring it to closure. Poor management oversight and ensuring quality of the construction and warranty resolution. My advice to the management is Customer service can be lot better and closely monitor construction issue resolution.
