Cheap material. Expensive upgrades. Only good thing was the warranty service.

Once we gave our down payment, Paul and Kyle were unresponsive and rude. It was a mentality focused on "we already have your money so we don't need to try." They did not reply to texts, calls or emails from us or our realtor. Paul also was unprofessional taking days to reply and would not even use email signatures or greetings. Would not work with KHOV again.

For the amount of monies that I paid to Town home, expected the quality of the workmanship and materials will be at least as good as my rental home. But observed issues with the house from day1. Actually, closed the house on 31st Oct and officially moved on 1st Jan. But observed door locking issues for all the doors and cracks in the staircase and shaky staircase created multiple problems such as fell down from top.

Used K. Hov expecting a different experience from other builders in the past. But it was about the same. The sales team was amazing, but the construction of the home is my issue. The quality of materials are faulty and super inexpensive. For the cost of the home, I shouldn't of had to call the warranty manager to fix multiple issues within the first month of owning a brand new home. While the warranty manager is very responsive and professional. She definitely has job security especially when the construction workers are working at night with hard hat lights to build homes.

Check the everything one by one

The Sales team looks always busy and don't spend enough time to explain all the options available. There is no separate project management or construction team we can contact about the construction details, you always need to contact Sales person for any updates who seems very busy. Some of the fixtures in the home like doors, bathroom fixtures etc. are not of great quality for the price paid. Their own mortgage team plays tricks and delay the rate locking so that buyer doesn't have a chance to think about other options.

Home is not worth the price paid. For a million dollar home i expected there to be some good finishes but as i live in the home i notice there are some things that could be improved on.

Would not recommend anyone to buy here honestly some things I see where you guys cut corners to save cost house was 358000 I feel robbed definitely worth a good 150,000 not satisfied me and my neighbors garbages are not the lengths they’re supposed to be counter tops in my bathrooms are very cheap the 3 front room are so SMALL I can barely fit a bed and dresser in them I’m counting down until I can sell and go with a better builder

I have been frustrated and burdened with the lack of quality workmanship in the townhome we paid for in Stuart, Florida at the Preserve at Avonlea. Monica, the salesperson, was wonderful to work with along with Jim Carroll as Community Manager/Liason after the sale closed. Beyond these two people, I have been unimpressed with the professionalism and customer care/support of the K. Hovnanian team who is sold strongly with the brand and your unit upon purchasing. Really poor communication. Very late to meeting. Home not completed with far too many mistakes I corrected. There was blood on the kitchen cabinets and stairway after final walk through when we picked up our keys. Got our kitchen lights 3 months after purchase after we followed up weekly never from them.

Contacted the warranty department several times and there is no response to solve the issues we are facing in our newly constructed home.

We were told the house would be completed in eight months. It actually took a year. When we arrived to do the final walk through there was no lock on the front door. The construction manager wasn’t aware that we were supposed to be closing that day and showed up an hour late after we called the sales manager to find him. The house still needed to be inspected. They pushed back closing a few hours to fix all the issues the inspector found. We were able to close. The entire experience from start to finish was a very rocky road. I told my parents not to buy a house here because of it.

The Sales Team was excellent, however the Building Team fell far short. Poor workmanship, major defects and pushback from them after I paid for my home and asked to get everything completed and repaired. VERY disappointing!

This was not a good experience. Poor workmanship in home from framing issues, to air conditioning, sprinkler system, overall poor communication through the home buying process

Didn't lock in our rates before they were raised; didn't address issues despite being assured they would be fixed; model was deceptive on options available; poor craftsmanship, especially behind panels that you don't notice during walk through.

You're getting a vastly overprice "starter" home simply because of market conditions. You get a bathroom with one towel rack for two sinks and no medicine cabinets. You get 10'x10' bedrooms, barely large enough for a queen size bed and a bureau. Their design centers offer limited, but overpriced, selections.

The home buying process was a disappointment. It was not the 10 week delay as much as it was the lack of transparency and accountability about the delay. Ultimately I closed with 23 hours notice. I am told by visitors that the home looks nice. I do not see that. I see the numerous finishing details that need to fixed (e.g. spackle on the baseboard, the wall was painted around the light switch, the front door lock is crooked, the banister was not sanded, messy caul finishing in the kitchen, paint on trim around all the showers, etc.). All fixable but disappointing.

KHOV sales and design center are not concerned with the best interest of the buyer, and you need to ensure all discussions are in writing. Truthfully I would not have purchased from this builder knowing what I do now, and the dishonesty that is plagued throughout the process.

The builder walks away from your new home before basis jobs are complete. None of the walk through items have been readdressed. The interior of my home looks like it was never painted and the interior doors all need to be sanded and repainted. There is a lot of promises made at point of sale and few have been resolved. I would never buy another Khov. home or recommend one.

Need better accountability from home builder

Quality and and detail to work okay at best. Easily seen issues ignored unless brought up.

The sales team is like a used cars salesmen. Promising the sky and screwing you over. You walk in and fall in love with the model home and they tell you to put a down payment down without helping you price out items. The sales team keeps telling you that you can price out items during the design appointment but what they don't tell you is everything is an upgrade. To get the house even remotely updated, you got to spend over $60,000 in upgrades! It's too late when you find that out because you already put down a huge downpayment. I tried to price out everything with the sales team so I knew what I was getting into and I called out exactly what I wanted. The sales team ensured everything I asked for was included in the price. Now comes the shock, when you go into the design center you are told everything was basically priced out at base price like cheap kitchen cabinets and vinyl peel and stick flooring etc. I can go on and on. You're given a 1 year warranty on most work since it's a new house and things can go wrong which is understandable. I'm not mad at things going wrong because I've had plumbing issues, lock issues, and other minor things come up but they are NOT responsive. They can take weeks to get back to you, let alone send someone out to fix the issue. My sink wasn't working and they took about 2 weeks to send someone out. Customer service is terrible. They give you a date, they finish early. They give unrealistic closing date when the appraisals aren't complete then charge you by the day that you don't close. Very unhappy

The people I worked with were extremely sketchy - first, blatantly lying about the overall price of the unit and not disclosing that the price included incentives that required me to use their mortgage company. Second, including items (and costs) on the spec sheet which were NOT included in the finished home. As far as I can tell, the home seems well-built, but any buyers need to be EXTREMELY diligent in asking questions about the price, what’s included, and double/triple-checking all spec sheets and items included in the home to ensure they are getting what they paid for.
