Our Construction Mgr. @ Seabrook, De Was Very Condescending !! He Treated My Daughter With No Respect, Her Being My Representative. I Have Been In The Construction Trades For The Last 50 Yrs. I Didn't Appreciate The Disrespect He Showed Me, In Our Conversations. On The Positive Side Our Sales Rep. Caleh Was Awesome!! He Was Very Professional & Helpful Returned Calls Right Away.

Wish KHov was more responsive and also used a different title company.

Would buy from another builder. Very poor quality on workmanship and materials. Had several issues with home and refused to properly fix. They try to hide all issues and rig up repairs. 1-issue of many I just fixed on my own was had to re-level front yard. There were huge humps and holes in front and back yard. Took 8-wheelbarrows of trash, concrete and debris underneath grass; which caused all the grass to die. Can not install grass on trash. Cost me an additional 1500.00 extra out of pocket right after moving in. They don not fix or want to fix anything. Also they will not install grass in the back yard. Overall will never ever buy another house from K-HOV or recommend to anyone I know. ... More

Sales rep was extremely rude, lots of build quality issues.

I closed escrow on my new home 5/26. From the day I got the keys the house was not move-in ready. I trusted the builder to have completed the items needed to be fixed in the home visit new as I had purchased. However, not only were all the items not repaired but new issues arose and now seven weeks in the house I still have blue tape everywhere marking items that have not been resolved. From the cracked/split baseboards, AC upstairs blowing hot air, wood cracked on stairs, ceiling bubble throughout the kitchen to the garage door being hung incorrectly which caused the paint to scrape off to metal on both sides and the stucco outside cracked in several places. I’ve been extremely patient and reached out to over 17 members with the KHOV team Asking for assistance. At this point no one has taken ownership to make it right. I’m extremely disappointed in the build and finishes of the home given the price point. One would expect more from the builder as they pride themselves on quality. I’m ready to take further action if someone doesn’t take ownership and assist with my issues in a timely manner. We moved in a month ago and have had numerous issues. Two electrical problems, one where the fire alarms weren't wired. Our AC has been out twice and then was also not wrapped so blowing into the attic. Our backyard doesn't drain properly. One of the drains on our sinks had been kicked and knocked off so water was draining onto the floor. Cabinets missing chunks, fence falling off, back door not catching. All was fixed but response times were terrible especially for AC and most of the companies that came out to fix things left a mess and/or showed up way outside of the scheduled time window causing me to miss work. Everyone super kind people but very disappointed with so many things wrong in a brand new house in a month. Have worked to make things right. ... More

Just one phone jack for landline and fax in kitchen, am I supposed to keep the fax on kitchen counter? Fax wont work without landline. Told by Lloyd this is the new standard. Was never told or informed that I would not be getting a place to plug in my electrical dryer. Surprised when I tried to dry my clothes and last minute had to buy a new gas dryer. Also told new standard. Rude people involved in the process overall from Construction to Sales. Only person on our side was Saul, who ended up leaving company. 3 different sales reps throughout home buying process. I wonder why. Bad paint job inside and outside. Messed up our hose bib placement. Work not done cleanly. They have the key they entered our house even after we recieved our keys without informing us or asking. Very rude. Our stuff was all in the living room, could have gone missing and we wouldn't know. ... More

Sales was amazing!! Design was great!!! Everything after that was awful. No one was on the same page, responsiveness was not timely at all nor was the care of the customer...who is funding the whole project! There was no way the customer could make any changes but if the builder made a change there was no communication regarding it to the customer. Builder was more loyal to contractors who had an extremely low level skill than they were for the customer.

The sales team is all smiles when you are considering buying a home. They make you feel very welcome and they also commit to delivery dates that they aren't going to make. The date on the contract means nothing. The construction manager will appear super nice, and deliver late, all for the sake of so-called quality. The house looks good to the naked eye, but there are several poor design choices, even when it come to placing an air vent above the Master Bedroom's door, therefore compromising privacy for the owner(s). They might as well be an open window constantly blowing air in the Master Bath. There is a vent that exhaust to the roof, making noise anytime the wind blows. Of course this is not featured in the model homes, bc you wouldn't buy it! Highly disappointed with the upgrade to a third car garage, only to get a 2.5 car garage, given only a clown car can fit in the other side of my garage. The only helpful person thus far, post signing, is the Warranty Manager, but there's nothing they can do re: my real issues with the build. Lastly, beware of the design center. They will try to sell you the moon, stars and the sun. They will also ask if you want ceiling fans, which basically means do you want ceiling lights, bc everyone only has ceiling fans as lighting, right? No! ... More

We had some high expectations on our purchase of this home, but it was met with poor execution, poor supervision on the trade labor, and poor follow up to correct issues. This wasn't all bad, but if you are buying from this group, then make sure you have the ability to watch each step of the process closely as you will quickly get frustrated with the execution if it's not supervised properly. If executed correctly, it could be a wonderful home.

Salesman was horrible. Lied to us about many things and failed to offer us any options including lights. For the price we paid we expected a lot more out of the house. We moved in and the house has many flaws that still need to be fixed. The carelessness in building the house could have been dealt with if they took the time when building the house. We were told they focus on 3 houses at a time but that wasn't true.

poor quality are materials the homes . l do not like the quality of the stuff, I have been unable to use the oven because when I turn it on, it releases a lot of gas immediately. This is a hazard. l sent a message to the building manager and he ask me to call GE. The master suite is tiny , l wish it was bigger because there is a lot of yard space.

The worst experience with your mortgage lending group!!

A nightmare everything was delayed and communication was mediocre

My problem was an unfortunate lack of reality between when the house was supposed to be done and when it was actually done. 3 weeks in a hotel with a dog isn’t anyone’s idea of fun, especially not the dog.

Cooperate is awful. The office was terrible with customer service.,, Construction Manager was all that was helpful through the entire process.

This is a great builder with great product for the price point Lots of value !!! I would recommend that you make sure you get a good sales person to help the homebuyer process go as smooth as possible. My salesperson did not do a good job of making my experience memorable .

Everything was really bad,sales person had family emergency and really nobody was there to kinda cover even to give us the key of our 1st house. Youall change construction manager like 3 times and except for Gary (the las one) they didn't do nothing right. The day I was supposed to receive my brand new house was not finished and had buch of trash in the garage and back yard . I would never recomen or buy again from this constructor.

This is our third new home. This was the worst experience we have ever had. From initial salesperson to our closing that took five hours this was horrendous. We sent in a much more detailed review and documented timeline. The only positive we have is Kristi our warranty person. So many issues and we are not asking for them all to be addressed. Example - we are on our fifth main kitchen countertop being replaced and still not correct. Our upgraded stairs and beams needed immediate addressing or we were not moving in. The stairs are still not fixed to the condition agreed upon when purchased. The other upgrades are absolutely not worth the money, especially for the craftsmanship. We took over an hour to type the entire story so your company at some level is already aware and I am convinced you do not actually care as we had no one speak to us. We absolutely do not recommend K Hov. We absolutely do recommend Kristi. Your only saving grace is her professionalism. ... More

We were rushed to sign the contract, we were not provided time to go thru the contract. They invited to meeting to go over contract but they were very rude and forced me to sign the contract before leaving. There are many hidden fees Ex: water allotment payment which is a whopping 9000$(only if you go select their lender else 17000$). They will force you to go thru their lender by saying they will remove incentives provided if we won’t choose them. Home selection process was not great, they showed me some printouts and asked me to select my options which is very confusing and once signed they won’t allow any changes even non structural things like carpet/tiles etc. They rushed me to select home and didn’t explained about their home models. The water has been used from our home during the closing week without our permission. Huge lawn of around an acre area at the back of home’s block and several smaller lawn pieces at the front of the home’s block, have been watered by using water from our uniti have incurred a heavy water bill for around 110 thousand gallons of water. I have been following up several times with KHOV sales office to reach out to someone who takes responsibility of this issue. I have been given a promise that this bill will be taken care of before the due date. The date is past due but not a single bit of the bill is been paid yet. It’s a very bad experience to us because of KHOV using water from our unit without letting us know. ... More

Having to wait for almost 10 months cost us a great deal of money and a great deal of anguish. The interest rate started at under five and ended up 5.5. Over the life of the lone that is a great deal of money. We bought the condo to be close to our grandkids. We missed a year of their life. It was very upsetting to keep your life on hold. My sister purchased a house three months after us and moved in three months before us. Some builders seemed to be able to get materials.

It was an absolute nightmare. I wanted to call it off 5x. The process is very stressful and complicated. I wasn’t even sure the was gonna close on the schedule date. 2am the morning of the closing is when I was notified “We are good to go”

Home wasn’t signed off as completed until April 26th and we were set to close on the 28th. The lender needs a final appraisal which takes 1-2 weeks. They deemed K Hovnanian’s tactics unethical and went back on their assurance to cover the costs associated with delay of closing. I ended up being saddled with thousands of dollars of fees and paid after threats to relist the house. I see the fault on the side of all party’s except mine, yet I was the one saddled with undue financial burden. Sales promised so many things (like Gourmet Kitchen, lower Cabinet in Laundry etc) and ultimately none of them were addressed as I felt they were more focused on selling homes and meeting or exceeding their sales targets and never seemed to consider the buyer as their customer. On the Contrary, the maintenance team led by the construction manager have been very prompt in their responses after closing the home to address any new or outstanding issues.
