In the beginning it was a great expérience but quickly went down hill. I am à Sales Manager in the auto industry for 15 years. Understanding your customer need and wants should. be a priority for Amy one in sales. Wé thought ois realtor really understood what we wanted but as time went on we réaliser that she just dis not listen To us. Wé had infomed Her what was important To us. We trusted her. When the situation was confronted her answer to us was that you should have been aware because you signed the contract. we understand that we signed the contract and we also trusted her into assuring giving us what we asked for. I believe we should have got options to correct the situation and it should have been communication between the design center in the realtor to assure that the customer got what they wanted and if there was any obstacles we could have all worked it out. knowing what I budget was it should have been kept in mind so the customer could have been informed where they stood with the cost but unfortunately that did not happen either so I had to come up with a significant amount of money at closing. The only upside to our experience as we were purchasing the home is Carl the head of construction for our home he was kind he was informative and he was personable he did an outstanding job and to date he is still driving around the community and asking how everything is going it's unfortunate that the real estate agent and Carl you not work together when it comes to selecting the plan of the home. Carl was very thorough when he reviewed the plans with us in the construction with us and always kept us updated every Friday about what needed to be done and what I got completed. Through out my experience with k Hovnanian I primarily delt with Mike in sales and Will as our GC. These two guys have got to be the best employees you have!! Whatever I needed they were all over it and made my wife and I feel very comfortable with this whole process. We are loving our new home and really appreciate all of mike and Wills hard work.

The basic materials used in half a million dollars house a joke.

Beautiful house, well built. I bought one of the models, fully furnished, and all the extras. Love the house. Love the neighborhood with clubhouse, pool, and access to Red Mill Pond. Highly recommended builder and neighborhood. Had some issues with the dryer, which was not installed correctly, but a minor issue in the grand scheme of things.

I love my new KHov home! There is nothing that I do not like. The design, the neighborhood, the lawn and landscaping all look terrific. The KHov sales representative was excellent from start to finish in keeping me informed of progress on the house and any other matters that needed to be tended to before closing. KHov is very fortunate to have her as an employee. Also, the construction managers have been very attentive to my questions and kept everything on schedule. Again, excellent employees. Shelby did a good job after having to replace a previous salesperson who initially handled my home purchase. She listened to my requests and executed what needed to be done.

Overall bad experience building a new home. The mortgage and title companies they make you use lack severely in communicating with their customer. The sales consultant, design consultant, and construction manager, Sarah, Jocelyn, and Joe, lacked empathy to issues we had and at times could be down right rude. We have been in our house for a little over a month now and are having contractors come pretty much every weekly to fix issues we’re finding. I’m sure this is not uncommon for a newly built home but I feel this whole process could be improved if the customer is allowed to come and visit their home until the day they get their keys. I personally would never build with k hov again after this experience. ... More

Overall the sales price was nice. Professionalism and manners of staff not so great. They do not replace appliances or major fixtures in home even if needing to be replaced.

I was overwhelmed with everything at first, because this was my first home buying experience. Meredith, Nia, and Jeremy led me through the entire process and were always willing to answer questions and concerns. They made themselves available through the entire build and even continue to provide exceptional service after closing. I have heard nightmares about other home building experiences, but I am beyond impressed and thankful for the service I received and am so happy in my new home.

This was a fantastic buying experience. The sales consultant was friendly, accommodating, and authentic which are qualities hard to come across in a sales oriented position. She played an integral role in my decision to purchase a K. Hovnanian home. The contractor has added a reassurance to the quality and craftsmanship of my recent purchase. He is thorough, takes the time to provide clear explanations to my inquiries, and he’s quick at getting tasks done. For anyone looking to purchase a new home, I will surely refer them to K. Hovnanian homes.

3 years ago we walked into the Ellwood model in Sycamore, IL and to say we fell in love with this home is an understatement! The minute we walked into the house we felt like this was our forever home! Unfortunately, things were not in a financial place with us that weren't able to start our build. Over the 3 years Sue, the sales rep, and I had remained in contact with one another. One day I emailed her and said "how many lots are left?" and she told me 3. Immediately my husband and I went to meet with her and we discussed everything and decided now was the time and we would sell our town house and start our build. During this time Sue was remarkable! She was attentive to our needs, quick to respond to any questions, was patient,and above all made us feel comfortable. We sold our townhouse that we had for 14 years after 3 days on the market and life seemed to be a whirlwind for us. We were nervous and overwhelmed. We met with Mike, Project manager, and the level of professionalism and genuine care he displayed is beyond all words. He kept us informed about all progress on the house and took the time to answer all questions. His attention to client care and satisfaction is exemplary. Mike worked diligently to have us in our forever home before Christmas and he made yet another dream a reality. The entire experience was effortless and just remarkable. We knew that K. Hovanian was where our forever home was from the minute we entered the house. The incredible team that supported us in our build is something that we forever value and will tell everyone about. Make sure you understand that when they tell you that you have x values in upgrades that they are going to add that to your final sale price. Nothing is free.

Its not a custom home, so one should keep that in mind. They are very restrictive as to changes they allow to the basic plans. Keith, their onsite builder, was excellent. Extremely responsive to everything we brought up during the building process. I do think they charge way too much for upgrades and their design center options were at times limited (eg light fixtures) and always overpriced. Its cheaper at times to take their included option and then go get what you want and replace it after you close. I do like that they do not skimp on some of the of the major issues. For example there are not areas on the outside that are not bricked. And they seem to keep a close eye on their subs and make sure things get done correctly. ... More
