Since purchasing the home, I have experienced so many issues. I was told by the contractor (Nomo) to contact him for any issues. He has been extremely slow with responses and completely incompetent in resolving any issue since purchasing the home. There is no communication whatsoever. I have purchased homes from multiple builders and have never been this unsatisfied. The home buying experience has been so bad and I regret buying a home from K. Hovnanian. I have escalated issues to Nomo’s boss, Gary, and it too has resulted in delays with getting important issues resolved. The post purchase support with K. Hovnanian is completely inadequate. Bad company, does poor work and uses cheap materials yet charges alot for their homes, so disappointed I ever bought a home from this company

After leaving military service, my wife and I wanted to move back home to Texas from our last duty stations. We bought a new construction home as a forever home which now we cannot wait to leave. The sales(buying) experience was terrible. This is not our first home so we knew how things should go. K. Hovnanian will pressure you and give you zero time to consider their offers. I wasn't even sure I had a solid job offer (wife got her job first) and the offer they gave us on a Saturday night was only valid through Sunday, I begged them to give me until noon Monday so I could confirm employment. They said no. They will pressure you into their mortgage broker, and ask for all pertinent documents last second. We were on the road traveling from the east coast, we told them weeks ahead of time when we were moving so make sure all the documents were received before then. They called us on the road demanding we give them whatever document or else they couldn't promise we could move in when we agreed. They will also sell your mortgage within a week of your purchase so don't expect to deal with them long term for your mortgage. They also will not be present at closing and will not give the keys to the broker. You will sign for your home and not have access to it until they are available to give you YOUR keys. Then the construction. Every single door in our house has damage on it. Many of them did not sit square before any of the settling occurred. Knicks, cuts, dings in the drywall prior to our move in. Many of the light switches are wired backwards which I will now have to go behind them and fix. The floors were dirty, the whole interior was covered with sawdust, grout dust, and whatever else. Many places on our floor were over grouted, our tiles in the kitchen and bathroom had huge grout gaps and were not set flush. So many things in our house are off square that it is glaringly annoying. When they come to fix issues, they will do it in a way that causes another problem. Example: the office French doors were so far off square the one door did not sit in the other. So they came to fix it. All he did was loosen one screw on the strike plate and lower the plate slightly. Now the door drags the other door when you open or close because the wood contacts the bottom of the plate. But hey, at least it doesn't just push open! K. Hovnanian does not care if the product you receive is worth the money you pay. Our old home was 25 years old when we bought it 11 years ago and it had less issues than this 2023 new construction. I could give you dozens of reasons to stay away from a K. Hovnanian construction, but no one has the time to read a Charles Dickens novel on the internet. I found we were oversold the home, were made promises that were not kept, and had to continually watch every development in the home as builders cut corners, didn’t finish elements, etc. there was next to zero project management, incredibly poor communication and poor workmanship. One of the worst experiences I have had in my adult life.

After you buy new home from them they can not find contractors to fix a problem I had a very very bad experience with this when you face lots lots problems there builder use very cheep material and no good finishes work by no experience worker I feel like I get rob all work is crooked even house main entry door is crooked if you wana to know more just come to community to talk with people than you find out truth I wish owner this project to see this review and call me or come to talk to every house owner than he know what he done to us .

We paid 40k for an upgrade in kitchen that got delivered with missing pieces and for explanation we are being told that manufacture is not making the complete pieces now . But again you sold us and we paid for it and now we should get it or we should either get a refund .

The construction manager Zach was incompetent, lied constantly, didn’t care one bit! He was condescending, racist, belittling trades, disrespectful, did not manage the trade base. Didn’t complete many items on punch walk, (gas line needed to be moved and didn’t move it until day of closing. Lied so many times. EVERYTHING is the cheapest. Baseboards,doors,paint,toilets, cabinets,light fixtures. KHOV use the cheapest trades,cheapest materials and hand over a VERY sub par house. Why can’t they get things done FIRST TIME,instead of having items repaired after closing. The worst experience we have ever experienced!! Considered walking away on day of closing (which was delayed on the day of original closing date) Steve the salesperson also did not care about his “acquired” buyers from previous salesperson. Very condescending!! Management do not care apart from counting their money. No empathy, no compassion, no care!!! Treat buyers like numbers on the sales wall. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!! ... This is worse quality . I had so many issues within few Months of moving in . Stay away from this builder !!!

This has been a bad experience and continues to be, I wouldn’t recommend this developer. Lied to every step of the way, if I could have got my deposit back I would have went elsewhere. The best single word to describe everything. Incompetent

Never buy a home from Khov ever again! Worst built quality… even small contractors can build better homes than them.

There are multiple problems with my home. When they placed the bottom plate on the door, they sheared it off and just stucco it it. There is paint and tape adhesive all over my windows. The gutter is dent inward and outward, totally not smooth and normal looking. There is stucco all over the water faucet in the backyard that I can’t even turn the water off, I have to keep a hose with a sprayer on the end of the hose, so it won’t leak. There are boot prints all over the walls and ceiling in the garage. The pole in the garage in front of the water heater is not straight and I have to keep something wrapped around it, or the side garage door hits it. All the hands and the thermostat on the wall is crooked. Out front the flashing (the metal part) is bent, pieced together, sharp, with gaps in them. The stucco around the door outside the garage already has gaps in it. The grout in the shower is already cracked in the corner. The bricks on the front wall in the front of the house are cracked. There are 3 holes in the concrete in front of the house and part of one corner is cracked. Paying close to $600,000 you would expect much better quality of home. So incredibly disappointed. ... More

Executive management are responsible for design output specifications and most likely, the selection of poor-quality tier 1 suppliers based on lowest bid only. Those who have to build to these specs are not responsible for ultimate customer opinion. Specifying 1/4-inch stucco, a "texture delete drywall finish," wavy stucco, facia painted with watered-down paint with no primer, a four-foot-tall back wall, poorly built cabinets that cannot even arrive intact for replacement of the cracked units, pavers that are supposed to block water from the expansive soil with non-polymeric sand, are all the effect of poor executive management that obviously manage primarily according to EBITDA or other IRS based accounting principles.. Such a management philosophy begins with financial numbers and ends with poor customer satisfaction. It's real simple. Expecting any other outcome is insanity. There are issues with the tier 3 suppliers, that are selected at the tactical level, but I would still argue that this is the effect of executive management, not the tactical managers. I disagree with the philosophy that the customer who complains the most and threatens to bring in the watch-dogs is the only customer who gets his stucco re-layered. Thank you for the effort to correct some things I've complained about. I've dealt with some really nice bottom-tier suppliers when they can speak English. I won't recommend KHOV to a friend or family member, but I do recommend KHov hire an independent firm to study your management system and make recommendations for root cause level corrective actions to result in delighted customers. First of all, my home was supposed to be completed in 6 months. It took them a year! The sales people are the worst! They never tell you the truth about the progress they're making and the updates they promise to provide you never get. They are very unresponsive. I would call and get no answer, I would send emails and either get no response or have to email multiple times before someone responds. There have been 4 different construction managers since they started the house and and you could never reach any of them. When I finally was able to close, at the final walk through the ceiling wall in the bathroom was buckling, the floor bathroom tile was 2 different colors, all the custom fixtures that i paid EXTRA for had paint all over them, the back door was dented up, the carpet had paint on it, some of the walls hadn't been sanded well yet painted anyway so the paint job was horrible, the base boards hadn't been calked, the wall tile wasn't level and had gaps in them, my expensive countertop was chipped up, and I could go on and on. They agreed to come back and fix some of the issues, but I have been in the house for months now and i'm STILL waiting on work to be done. If you like your peace of mind, stay away from KHOV and their team

And if from some strange and out of the blue reason you still want to go with KHOV, I’d suggest following: - bring lawyer to the purchase discussions and thru out the build - have everything video recorded - put all conversations thru a script and make them sign via Notary Public - don’t trust single word they say - all your future lawsuits will start with arbitration, make sure the contract doesn’t have that - you will be pressured, forced to take home as is or you lose your deposit - you will be threatened with default and losing your deposit I would not recommend buying.

Seller talked up all of the coming developments in the area like parks, schools, shopping centers and failed to mention the largest trucking distribution center in Nor Cal going in adjacent to the development. 0 trust

This was honestly the worst homebuying experience that I could have ever imagined. Extremely poor quality, workmanship, construction managers, that had absolutely no idea what they were doing, timelines, consistently, not mad, mixed messaging, and extremely poor communication, highly unreliable subcontractors, unhelpful sales people.

HAMPTON RUN -STAFFORD, VA This is our time buying a home and our experience overall was unsatisfactory and still beyond words. The home is overpriced, small, building materials are of poor quality and not worth the price. I still cannot believe that this house was built by Khov. In the first place this was not the home that we wanted because of the size of the home. The house is very small in size and not what we were expecting. The living room is very small for a house this price and looks like my son's room at our previous town home. When we came in to tour the house for the first time we had a sleepless night after seeing the home. That is when my wife and I contacted Becky requesting if we could move to a bigger home next door because there were two homes on the market at the time and on special. Becky was willing to help us after expressing our concern about the home and the need to move to a bit bigger home and requested that we speak with Mathew CMG mortgage financial. Mathew CMG mortgage financial was not helpful at all and started bringing up excuses for us not to get the home which has a difference of $34,000 between our current home and the home that we wanted. I know for sure that we are qualify for the home and at the max. The floors of our current home shakes when you walk through the kitchen and the living room as you can feel the impact on the island in the kitchen, as well as the refrigerator and cabinets. The doors of each room/entrance does not perfectly fit the door frame. You will have to push the door a bit harder to fit into the frame. The hinge to the doors makes aloud sound when the doors are open. Before the was fully built, we were told it's going to be 3 1/2 bathrooms. At the end we only saw 2 1/2. Even the chandelier that we selected was not installed at first as I have insisted that it was part of our purchase before it was installed in the dining room instead front entrance stairs as agreed by the plan. Sales experience is nice but the quality of material used compared to model house is very bad even after selecting the level 5 upgrades. It took longer then anticipated to build the house but that is okay given the supply chain issues we had. However, after moving in we found lots of issues with quality and workmanship. The flooring was damaged, there were nails popping out of the floor. there were holes in the ceiling, doors were damaged, cat was trapped in HVAC filter (You heard it right, a living CAT). There is a long of list of issues. Its been 3+ months since we moved in and builder did not fix the issues till date. I raised the ticket so many times but most of the issues are not fixed yet. Looks like they dont care about the customers. The frustrating part is when they come to fix one issue, they end up damaging other things and they don't care. Its been so long and I am still waiting for them to fix the item they damaged. for example, the floor in my master bedroom was squeaking so they ripped the carpet carelessly and now it does not cover my floor properly. I would suggest before signing the contract have them add the clause that if there are issues in the house they must address it on priority within a week of creating ticket. if they dont agree? do not buy the house. It is not worth paying $700K to $1M for this quality. There are more well known builders in the area who gives quality home for much cheaper. ... More

My advice is don’t do it. The workmanship is absolute worst. Within 60 days of moving things began breaking.
