To start our salesperson did not promptly return calls about questions we had. She also told us the house came with 2 outside compressors for air conditioning. She was more inclined to give an answer the customer would want to hear than what the truth was. Our project supervisor, Troy came across to me as cocky and lay the blame on somebody else or had an excuse. The last thing that made the whole process terrible was the home builder charged us a large sum of money because the closing date was not communicated properly to anyone especially us. There is a lot more detail that can be shared with whoever cares but our overall experience was a disaster but when the builder holds all the cards at the end you either follow their instructions or forfeit a lot of money. We were the 2nd people to sign the contract in the community. To start with we were not explained about the different elevations and we missed out on the porch. After moving in we noticed that the floors are rising. We found this on the day of our closing and they fixed it but it is starting to rise again. The master bathroom floors have a problem that is making the water leak from the great room ceiling. It’s been maire than 10 ldays and nobody has come to fix the bathrooms. We are a family of 5 and have been using only 1 bathroom. Very inconvenient. Right behind our backyard there is a water puddle which is not draining properly and this is causing bugs and spiders crawling inside and around our house. This needs to be treated immediately for maintain hygiene. We have kids and it’s making it very hard for them. A complaint has been sent about this already. In person and via email as well. I still can't move into the house. The wind ripped off the shingles , inside the house a lot of touchups, cabinets are damaged, the hood over the gas stove does not work, the stair case with holes and gaps and is not staining well, the workers come to repair and only makes it worse than it was before, main door is not finished, in master bathroom granite and floor chipped. we waiting patiently and give some time to finish all leftovers but after 5 weeks workers comes couple times and leave behind dirt from the putty on the carpet. It is clear that our house has been a low priority for KHov, and this entire process with KHov was been a horrible experience for us. We understand the current market environment, labor shortages, and supply chain issues, because we just went through buying a new home with NVHomes which was completed February 2021. It was a tough process but nothing like what we are experiencing with KHov. This process with KHov is so bad, that we don’t feel comfortable with the product that KHov delivered to us. Our close date has been pushed back repeatedly over the course of several months. Over the past few months, we have reached out repeatedly for updates, but only receive them on the days before closing is supposed to take place. We faced two massive disappointments throughout this process. First, our upstairs bathroom was constructed incorrectly (not according to the floor plan). No one caught this for weeks until closer to closing. Second, the most upsetting disappointment, was the walkthrough that took place on Monday, December 13. KHov intended to close on Friday, December 17. When we walked in, it was obvious that nobody had attended to the house in weeks. There were holes everywhere, unfinished bathrooms, broken windows, cracked flooring, unfinished dry wall, cabinets completely damaged, doors missing, and the house didn’t have insulation in the attic (all detailed in our inspection report which was 4 days after our walk through)! It was obvious that no one from KHov walked through the house or had a punch list. I went around the house and marked it with blue tape, which should have been someone else’s job. The fact that we are paying close full purchase price for this house and had to drive 7 hours round trip that day to see the house in that condition is inexcusable. After we refused to close, KHov pushed the closing another week, and again items were addressed but not completed. We had to push closing again to (12/30) again to (1/21) and then finally had to close on (1/31) because we couldn't extend the rate lock anymore. Once we moved in (3/29), we noticed there was no heat working on our 1st floor and there was a massive gap under our front door due to misalignment of install where cold air is coming through. We have called the emergency hotline and reached out to our Sales Rep and haven't heard back in 3 days to resolve this issue. Quality of our home shows a total lack of effort. Some items are so embarrassing, one might think they would rush over to correct? No, wait weeks on end to get a repair that is only slightly better than the original mess. At some point you just give up which seems to be the K Hov warranty strategy.

My husband and I will never recommend Khov to anyone based on our experience. We do not believe the KHov sales team was forthright with information leading up to closing. The KHov sales team were also completely unavailable on the day of closing with the exception of the onsite construction manager who processed our final walkthrough. We ran into construction issues during our final walkthrough and could not get through to anyone to discuss next steps or delaying closing until the issues were resolved. This put us in a position of having to decide whether to be in default or go to closing with a blemished home with zero input on next steps from KHov. As for build quality, there were numerous issues with the vinyl flooring on the first two levels including excessive bubbling, scratches and large gouges bad enough you could see the subfloor. We were told the problems were related to the material, that they were having issues with multiple properties and that KHov management was working on a solution. We were also assured the issues would be resolved before closing. When we inquired about exactly how they would be resolved and expressed our concerns over large scale patching we were not provided a clear response. On our final walkthrough we discovered the repairs were also done poorly with more bubbling, blemishes in multiple places and multiple new areas with debris under the vinyl resulting in visible sharp bulges in the flooring that were not there on the initial walkthrough. KHov worked with the flooring subcontractor to come in and fix the new flooring issues after closing but we were never told what the subcontractor did to fix the flooring issues even after multiple emails requesting more information. Overall, this was not a smooth or pleasurable process and it seemed like their only concern was making sure we got to closing before the end of the sales month. ... More

Unprofessionalism in the sales office. Read review on your webpage. Poor quality with interior fixtures, they put the cheapest products in this house!

I have built many homes in the past and this by far has been the worst experience. Everything was blamed on COVID even though the real truth was that they have poor communication, no direction, lie a lot and their own employees keep quitting.

Terrible service, terrible house, terrible products

I’m a first time homeowner and this experience has been a big disappointment. I was pressured to close quickly, my concerns were dismissed, and it has been one problem after another-from countertops not being glued down to uneven floors. KHOV only cares about meeting their quota and getting the closings done. They take no pride in the workmanship that is put into the luxury homes they claim to be building. I closed two months ago and the repairs have still not be taken care of. I would never refer someone to buy a KHOV home.

This builder should be ashamed to put his name on this property. This property is uninhabitable. It is disgusting that this company and it’s employees would deliver a product such as the one I purchased to anyone.

Lack of pride the staff at KHOV took in the brand I constantly had to remind them this is their brand and should have more pride. I mentioned that when viewing my home 1 week prior to the final walkthrough there was a bottle of urine in the master closet and the toilet looked so horrific I almost lost my lunch. I pointed out lack of quality in craftsmanship during the walkthrough obvious fixtures that were put in and not even straight and clearly visible to everyone who bothered to look at the work. In my master bathroom the shower seat was not straight had gaps between the wall. I feel KHOV does NO quality control. My home the stairs to the attic did not close I was told it would be corrected prior to close. It took 46 days to get this repaired after several calls filling out service orders and it became a comedy routine of let's try this or that and my personal favorite was bringing a tool over and asking me to see if I could get it to work. On the day I closed I got to my home so excited to put the key in the door and enter my home. Well that was another fail with a list of many. They changed the locks, but forgot to check to see if the keys they gave me worked on the door. Again basic quality control and common sense. I had always heard that KHOV was a brand you could trust I have not found that to be the case. Kitchen draws so misaligned they did not close correctly, half painted trim, missed paint on the walls and an overall lack of concern for the buyer. I originally thought it was a discrimination issue, but after hearing from other people in the neighborhood and reviewing each issue I came to the conclusion this is the way they conduct business. Besides the building part of our home, we had emails ignored by the sales representative, we definitely feel like we were lied to about progress materials sat in home for weeks on end with no one working on it. Once we signed it was like we didn't matter anymore. There were 4 different build supers that got replaced during the build. Bad workmanship and complete mismanagement. Usually someone worked on our home 1-2 days a week a times. Our closing day when we signed all the documents, we didn't even get keys to the home. The woman was not very professional. Seemed like she did not like her job. We would like someone in the upper management to reply or respond to address our experience so this can be fixed so no one else needs to go through what we endured. ... More

Would will never buy a model home again or deal with this builder ever again. Worst experience yet to have to put me and my family through that was coming from California.

The septic System failed in 5 days with only me using it. I talked to neighbors who said that the system was dug up just days before I took ownership which is deceitful at best. . The house is uninhabitable and thank God for Publix toilets. Run from this builder.

In general, our experience has been awful. Settlement was delayed six times, and six weeks following settlement, items identified during orientation inspection have not been completed despite multiple promises to do so.

Worst first time homebuying experience for my family.

Starting from sales to closing, I had every very bad experience and quality is very bad.. I might choose wrong option and i don't recommend for any one.. I see very poor architecture, workmanship, quality.. There were many damages and feel very poor quality materials and clearly reflect negligence of the builder. Dish washer is not event connected with power cable and with in two weeks in two baths we are using,, three lights are not working..

After my experience I would not recommend this builder. My home was rushed in the end, the process was inflexible, associates were learning at my expense. If I could do it again I would not have made the purchase with this builder.

The builders offered free upgrades to my neighbours equipment that they had ordered and I was promised that it will be given to me as well. The builder told me to make sure to give him a good review as it is very important. After a few weeks during my meeting with the builder, I was advised that the builder has changed. I asked the builder if the upgrades would still be applied to my property as promised by the previous builders. My neighbors got the upgrade on their stuff. The builder told me I will not be getting any upgrades, and that is why he is the builder now not the other guy. However, the important part is when I saw the house for the first time I raised a couple of my concerns. The walls were damaged, the doors were not straight, sockets and swtiches were not screwed on tight. I told the builder there are a lot of things that still needs to be fixed. He said no worries, I will give you a blue tape and anything you see just put blue tape and we will fix it. When I checked up on it next time, I saw that there were still a lot of things that were not corrected and I brought it to the builders attention. He said to put a blue tape again, while I was putting blue tape. The builder told me that nothing is perfect so we will try. I told him the doors are not straight, the ceiling of the wall is damaged. He did not provide any explanation but just stated that nothing is perfect and review is important. Everytime I met the builder, he was only concerned about the review instead of looking after my concerns. After closing when I came back I noticed nothing was fixed. Even some parts of the blue tape was there, scratched on the appliances, uneven doors, damaged walls, under window damaged, uneven floor. I don’t blame the contrcution crew but how can a builder approve the work that's damaged and uneven. The fridge was installed incorrectly, there is water leaking hopefully someone will fix it. While working on papers they messed up many times and they told me it was a simple mistake we will resend it. I would not recommend K.Hov. They make promises that aren't delivered and the quality of workmanship is lacking. We waited 16 months for a cookie cutter home that should have taken 4 months. The quality of work was beyond disappointing. Even after closing, there are many punch list items that have not been delivered.

They rush you to settlement with open promises and never complete a task. They never show up for follow up appointments. There is no excuse for poor customer service. Totally under staffed but they keep starting new houses but never finish the others.

I've had a better time at a used car lot... Total took advantage of the market, they know we basically had no other option. Warranty department has been great, However none of these issues should have gotten that far

Do not use their finance company. Quality of workmanship is terrible. Every door frame is in new home is damaged or chipped. Paint job for the whole house is the cheapest and worst out of the 4 houses we have owned. Multiple spots on the walls that were damaged were just painted over. To many issues to even list. The only reason they get one star is because of the kitchen. Best part of our new home. Over all I would recommend to look somewhere else if your looking for a new home.

On 9/28/2021 I closed a house in Alvin, TX. During the process, there were a lot of problems with the builder. I have emails where I started to point out details, he told me that I "didn't understand" and that "this is construction." I actually work in the industry, so I do understand. I stopped visiting during the construction of the house because I just got frustrated every time I went due to how dirty, and poorly coordinated it was being built. Before closing, they were supposed to fix the vinyl flooring but the vinyl subcontractor didn't even go, but he told me they did. I have pictures of how all the vinyl flooring is coming out due to poor glue applications, poor coordination, and lack of supervision. They went to "fix it", but a few days later they started coming out again. I requested ALL the vinyl flooring to be replaced. A GC's job is literally to manage risk and supervise, but the builder of my house told me he "couldn't supervise flooring" which is the poorest excuse I've ever heard, you just have to follow the same route they do, look through the windows, put a camera, etc. He constantly told me "remind" him of his own meetings with me. A client should not be reminding a builder of scheduled meetings. I am very unsatisfied, frustrated, and disappointed with myself for choosing K HOV as my builder. It took them like 3 weeks to coordinate a simple flooring issue. When they did fix the flooring they made a complete mess, couldn't even put back the barn doors correctly, screwed up the garage door, and I could keep going. As of 11/5, I haven't been able to move in. I will not be recommending K HOV to anyone, and this is the first and last time I will be building with K. HOV. NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY, you're basically paying $300K+ for a poorly coordinated, cheap material house. ... More
