K. Hovnanian® Homes Reviews

We had a wonderful experience, especially with the sales office representative and the construction crew. They responded to any questions we had and made us feel exceptionally special. On the construction side, we were offered vital advice and we are so appreciative of the K Hovnanian family. I have one recommendation that is for K Hovnanian and anyone who is buying a home. When making selections at the design center, the customer should be provided a picture or sample of all of their selections. We experienced an incorrect selection and we were told that's what we signed for. Well, the customer does not know what product numbers are assigned to selections and the product number is the only description on the document you sign. Luckily, the error was minimal and the construction crew was able to make the correction. The overall K Hovnanian experience was excellent and we have a greatly built home. ... More

My Daughter and I had an excellent experience. Nikki and June went above and beyond for us. They were super responsive and extremely friendly. We absolutely love the product. My daughter’s townhouse came out gorgeous.

Seamless process

Beautiful home, spacious and open. Loved the amount of choices in the designer galleria , it was absolutely amazing. Lots of different options with floor plans and execution. Highly recommend these builders

I know you will never reach to me for my issues: The warranty guy Phil is not ready to listen to your issues and has ready made answers. The whole first floor shakes in the home and things rattle the answer by Phil is “ The home is constructed to shake in the first floor” I am really not sure for what I paid my money for Really disappointing to having made business with Khov

Easy experience and process

Excellent Home

Very courteous and easy to work with on all levels.

This was out first time owning a home that we had built from the ground up. We picked our various colors, etc. Knowing that this house was to mean a lot to us really made a difference. Now that we are in the house, we love it! Selecting, dealing and negotiating was a big impact on us. The sales individual was wonderful, very kind, generous, customer oriented and was very knowledgeable. Once those wishes were submitted and everything else falls to someone at a desk, the journey was not so pleasant. To draw the customer in was great, its the other individuals who need to work on their people skills, throughout its process. To include understanding, knowledgeable of procedures and just down right being pleasant instead of reacting as if it is their next paycheck. We hung in there, and purchased the home we are pleased, however, we wonder if others went through what we went through. ... More

The sales team was outstanding to work with. If you use them as a lender, sometimes their are issues with communication with loan officers during the different stages of the loan process especially during the end of the company fiscal year (October). Overall, good experience.

The Villages at Red Mill Pond is a great community!

This was our first home buying experience and it went amazing. We had to do everything from Hawaii, Matt and the rest of the K. Hovnanian staff made the entire process stress-free and easy. Since moving into the home, Matt and the rest of the staff have been more than accommodating and helpful with all of our questions and concerns about the new community and being new homeowners we had a lot of of those. Overall this was an excellent experience.

I would definitely purchase another home from Khov. Every person I interacted with was courteous and helpful which made my experience as a first-time buyer that much more memorable.

Excellent except we had no tv or internet for the first month. The underground cable wasn’t in place

I had a great experience with Khov! From beginning to end they took complete care of me! They made the process so simple!

We had a hard time deciding if we wanted to built or not and Tiffany in the office was so patient and full of information. Blaine was the Contractor Manager and he responded to all my messages quickly and made the process so much less stressful.

We are happy for our house, excellent attention and kindness with all the people with whom we had contact in the process of buying and building the house.

some of the work is just thrown together. It a production not done with care.

Everything perfect in new home.

overall a pleasant to work with. few issues with interior cosmetics but quick to support us.

It was my first experience building home. It was good experience

Excellent

After a number of unforeseen events we greatly appreciated the quick response and professionalism extended to my wife and I by Karen, Tim and Dale

I could author and publish an entire book on our experience building with K Hovnanian. When we initially put down a deposit for our premium lot, we were told by the sales girl that K Hov was considered "the Taj Mahal of custom homes." This was just the start of many lies we were told. The sales/community manager assigned to our neighborhood is supposed to be the one and only point of contact for customers throughout the entire process. This person was the most degrading, dishonest and unresponsive human I have ever dealt with in my entire life. It was so bad we had to go up the chain of command to the VP/Director levels to get a new sales rep. The materials used are literally the cheapest you could buy at any home supply store. We have already had to replace several items in the home after just 1 month. The workmanship is some of the worst you will ever see. Please know that almost every single worker building your home will be a day laborer with absolutely zero days of experience in construction. I don't believe they had any skilled labor working here with the exception of the plumber and electrician. None of the walls are plumb or straight. The flooring is uneven and installed very poorly. The masonry work is some of the worst you will see with mortar messily spread all over the brick and stone. Trim and baseboards inside twist and turn like a country road. During the building process we were over here every single day pointing out poor workmanship and "upgrades" that were poorly installed or forgotten about completely. We were constantly told that everything was fine and within the industry standard (which we have confirmed from an independent general contractor was a total lie). Any "upgrades" we chose were installed so poorly that they look horrible. Some examples of this would include stone on the outside of the home covered in concrete splatter, iron balusters for a staircase scratched all the way down to the metal/installed crooked/covered in stain, and a gas oven which does not seal correctly letting natural gas into the home. All of this was brought up to the builder before closing and was ignored and never fixed. As I initially mentioned, I could write an entire 300+ page book on our experience. The bottom line is, absolutely do not under any circumstances build your home with this company. This is easily the worst decision my wife and I have ever made. ... More

The whole purchasing process is smooth and easy to deal with. They listen to what we need and are able to meet our budget.
