HAMPTON RUN -STAFFORD, VA This is our time buying a home and our experience overall was unsatisfactory and still beyond words. The home is overpriced, small, building materials are of poor quality and not worth the price. I still cannot believe that this house was built by Khov. In the first place this was not the home that we wanted because of the size of the home. The house is very small in size and not what we were expecting. The living room is very small for a house this price and looks like my son's room at our previous town home. When we came in to tour the house for the first time we had a sleepless night after seeing the home. That is when my wife and I contacted Becky requesting if we could move to a bigger home next door because there were two homes on the market at the time and on special. Becky was willing to help us after expressing our concern about the home and the need to move to a bit bigger home and requested that we speak with Mathew CMG mortgage financial. Mathew CMG mortgage financial was not helpful at all and started bringing up excuses for us not to get the home which has a difference of $34,000 between our current home and the home that we wanted. I know for sure that we are qualify for the home and at the max. The floors of our current home shakes when you walk through the kitchen and the living room as you can feel the impact on the island in the kitchen, as well as the refrigerator and cabinets. The doors of each room/entrance does not perfectly fit the door frame. You will have to push the door a bit harder to fit into the frame. The hinge to the doors makes aloud sound when the doors are open. Before the was fully built, we were told it's going to be 3 1/2 bathrooms. At the end we only saw 2 1/2. Even the chandelier that we selected was not installed at first as I have insisted that it was part of our purchase before it was installed in the dining room instead front entrance stairs as agreed by the plan. The purchase process was easy and everyone was very professional. I would recommend K.Hov to anyone looking to move to the VA area. The builder was very informative during the gold key walk through and thoroughly explained what to expect once we move in and explained the appliances to us such as how to winterize our home, how to shut off the gas, water and anything else helpful we may need to know incase of an emergency with the gas or water.

Had a great experience with no regrets or complaints. Great experience

There are many issues with the building which i. dont like. 1)quality of the material used. example marbles used kitchen top-this absorbs water. 2)no option for customizations. 3)when ever there is an issue, the answer to the issue is the same, they do not fix in most of the cases. 4) how the common bath is built- 5) water connection in the main hallway, that can be seen by all the guests.

The process of buying the house was easy. It was my first house and the seller was very patient, providing me with all the information upfront and sending me update regularly while they were building the house. Also I got to visit it many times and was informed of all the features. I even made a change in the middle of the construction, I add tiles to a bedroom instead of carpet. The seller and the builder agreed to do it, thank to good communication and flexibility. I highly recommend them. We enjoyed working with K. Hovnannian. It was unfortunate that the market drove up the price, but we are happy with what we have compared to other builders who were way more expensive. We would have liked if they would have allowed us to make minor adjustments and inclusions to the home at our expense but they didn’t. Any issues or problems they fix immediately. We really appreciated the weekly updates from Josh our builder, he did an excellent job of keeping us informed of every step in the building process. Also, our contact at K. My overall experience with the buying process was great, everything went very smoothly. I actually purchased a home that was originally built for someone else, so there were things that I would have selected that was very important to me (linen closets) but really no complaints about anything else. Any problems since closing has been addressed promptly.

I’m very sad an dissatisfied

Not allowed to upgrade, some basics missing such as concealed garbage containers in kitchen, vanity in Masters is poorly designed, line of sight out windows is poor due to design.

We built in a new home the before the build process went very smoothly. The build itself went fast and was completed ahead of schedule. We have run into few issues since moving in and every time someone comes to fix or repair the issues we’re told it’s not their fault and someone else has to come. Only to ignore the issues in the home.

Feel that the construction superintendent and his staff are rushed by the bean counters at corporate to close prematurely before the home is completed. Start up is slow, took about 3 months after signing to break ground, then things move along at a steady pace. Towards the end, everything seems rushed, builder had to change original closing date because of material issues. Day of closing the builder is still scrambling to finish the home. Neighbors that closed close to our date got the same line, if the city approved a certificate of occupancy, builder closed, no mater if the house was finished or what. May be legal, but not ethical. Beware and stand your ground, don't close if you are not satisfied at final walk through. ... More

From my sales person to my upgrade design consultant, my mortgage consultant, my construction manager, the quality of my new home, it was all quite easy and a wonderful experience. KHOV, has a great team that truly care about their buyers.

I'm the third person in my family to purchase a KHOV home! The homebuying process is always stressful, but I closed 3 months ago (within a month of signing the contract), and I am happy with my purchase.

Sales experience is nice but the quality of material used compared to model house is very bad even after selecting the level 5 upgrades. It took longer then anticipated to build the house but that is okay given the supply chain issues we had. However, after moving in we found lots of issues with quality and workmanship. The flooring was damaged, there were nails popping out of the floor. there were holes in the ceiling, doors were damaged, cat was trapped in HVAC filter (You heard it right, a living CAT). There is a long of list of issues. Its been 3+ months since we moved in and builder did not fix the issues till date. I raised the ticket so many times but most of the issues are not fixed yet. Looks like they dont care about the customers. The frustrating part is when they come to fix one issue, they end up damaging other things and they don't care. Its been so long and I am still waiting for them to fix the item they damaged. for example, the floor in my master bedroom was squeaking so they ripped the carpet carelessly and now it does not cover my floor properly. I would suggest before signing the contract have them add the clause that if there are issues in the house they must address it on priority within a week of creating ticket. if they dont agree? do not buy the house. It is not worth paying $700K to $1M for this quality. There are more well known builders in the area who gives quality home for much cheaper. ... More

Love the salespeople, and neighborhood the homes are in

Ismael went above and beyond to get us into our house as quickly as possible. Any issues that have come up since we moved in have been taken care of quickly.

I had a great sales and home buying experience. Everyone kept me up to date and responded to my questions and concerns in a timely manner.

My advice is don’t do it. The workmanship is absolute worst. Within 60 days of moving things began breaking.

Devin kept me informed the entire time on the progress, Jeff made sure it was done correctly. I was quite impressed with the final inspection, KHov was more particular than I was, much to my satisfaction.

My experience with the K Hovnanian team throughout the home buying process has been fabulous. It started by working with Damaris to find the kind of houme we were looking to buy within the Kingdom Heights community. She was very accomodative, thorough and knowledgeable. She went above and beyond to make sure we got what we were looking for. I had a very similar experience with the construction manager Mauricio. He has been such a great help. Always responsive and top of things when it comes to warranty requests or otherwise. Again, goes above and beyond to assist us.
