Sub par communication, had to take the initiative when asking for updates during the building process

The experience was good until the end when I had to actually deal with my Construction Manager. Everything was to his standards time frame and no concern for the Customers input.

While somewhat disappointed in the quality for the price I paid, the quality of people that work for KHOV here in Liberty is top notch. I could not have been happier with my salesperson and home builder.

Sales agent was fantastic. Builder was very difficult to work with and very rude.

Here are some big criticisms from our build: How disrespectful the contractors are about using the toilets when working in the house… How disappointed we were with the amount of trash and debris was in the yard and house during the build The house was not adequately cleaned when we took possession of the house… really sad Really sad that the materials, lighting, fans… how cheap they are. Mass ordered and look cheap The brilliant home package is very disappointing. They haven’t even completed our house install yet

While there are certainly many things to like about the house, location, and customer sales representative there also were too many problems along the way. Many delays, a lot of misinformation, failure to follow agreements without arguments, the worst finish grading job I've ever seen in my life, mediocre job of laying sod, mediocre finish carpentry work, absolutely stupid placement of the dining room light fixture, acute lack of kitchen & bathroom storage space. Other design issues inside and outside as well. We were relocating from out of state which made everything much more difficult. BE CAUTIOUS! ... More

The home is lovely but there are several workmanship issues we weren’t expecting (Windows are not the same size on the top versus the bottom for example).

I see so many things are ignored during the build process. It means there was not attention during construction process.

There was some perks such as incentive. I wish they had model homes visible to see to know exactly what your getting or blue print to go over what includes in the home and how and Carpet will be laid.

We identified several issues to the builder, they worked on it but it did not present the quality of work we expected, so we had to keep calling the builder to keep re-fixing again and again. We still have several open tickets, things are getting fixed slowly, but what a hassle. In general this is a good builder and they use quality materials (not the best, but still good). I you are paying top dollar for a house and expect detail oriented quality, find another builder.

The sales process was strong however the overall craftsmanship is below average especially when paying premium amounts for upgrades and features. Attention to detail was below average as well. The completion was nearly one month behind schedule. The construction communication and past follow-up responsiveness to issues has been strong.

Overall, the home has turned out to be about what we expected. There were several frustrations in the home building process; most notably, the kitchen we were promised turned out to be the result of an incorrect drawing, making it impossible to build as shown. This caused a 2-week setback and a major reworking of the kitchen that resulted in other issues. We now have a dysfunctional dishwasher that is drilled to the floor instead of on legs, which means that in order to repair it, we will inevitably need to have our kitchen floors torn up in the coming weeks. Our lawn has been described by our service manager as “in really bad shape” and stated that he is getting a bid to have the entire yard “reworked.” As with any new home, ours has its share of problems. The aforementioned, grouting issues, chipped sinks, painting eyesores, etc. Overall, it is a beautiful home that looks as we had hoped cosmetically. Hoping to get these larger issues resolved efficiently, and the service manager has been very helpful to that end so far. I understand that not all KHov customers can say the same about their service manager, so I count ourselves lucky for that. ... More

Heather in sales is great! She is always professional, goes over and beyond to provide guidance. The communication, responsiveness of others has lacked. It seems like a lot of turnover. Were hopeful this improves with the new team on board. The construction vendors leave a huge mess with little to no clean up around us. Most recently, I had to clean up an entire shower panel of glass that a vendor broke in the street, glass was everywhere including street, sidewalk and grass. We reported it immediately as it was a safety hazard for adults, children, animals and cars. No one ever came. I finally had to flag down the manager a couple of days later in the neighborhood to show him the area of concern. He picked up the trim that was still left outside, but no other action was taken. With our HOA fees being extremely high with an additional $700 fee for a private road, this would be an area of growth for the company. ... More

The KHOV Elevon salesperson was very misleading, played shady games over crediting back $1,500, I would not trust her and certainly would not refer anyone to her. The home is lovely for the most part. I was told the home was "close to being ready", knowing I was on a tight timeframe to move, they sat on the house with not a single nail for almost a month, I lost money on the house I was selling due to not one but 3 closing delays and then they did not even live up to the $1,500 credit back they offered (found that out too late). The interior is lovely (we bought the farmhouse style) but the front landscaping was sloppy, I wish that they would have actually completed the punch list before I moved in and they absolutely did not clean the lot, we have had the worst ant problems, coming in through our sockets, trim, etc. READ EVERYTHING. They do provide many beautiful upgrades like a free-standing tub, barn doors and little details that make the home just a little elevated. Some of the systems DO NOT work as described (i.e. "Fresh Air Intake"); the fence is sub-par, and I think they tried to squeeze one too many houses on each street as the houses are so close that many side yards never dry due to lack of sun. Unfortunately, you don't get the HOA rules until after you have provided earnest monies and then, the HOA rules not working for you is NOT a reason to break the contract. I did not like the Elevon Sales Team, I'm planning to sell in another year and move. I have to take ownership that I should have demanded certain information before giving them any monies. The Project Manager was great, but did I mention the Sales Team either withholds, misleads or just lies; sometimes over stupid things but they really lied about the plans for the development. That was not KHOV as a company, but the sales teams represent the company. I might have rated a little higher overall except for the fact that Heather the Salesperson really tainted the experience, and you just can't change that so every time I pulled into my garage, it just took from the joy of buying what was supposed to be my "dream home" (within an affordable price point) and the HOA management company.... just ridiculous nonsense. ... Majority of the materials used interior (wood) is of not good quality. Few items were installed in a way that could cause danger to kids. Not at all happy with warranty team. Always give one or other reason for warranty tickets

The home had too many issues to be handled after move in.

Sales – Experience had been good, but it could have been better. We requested for few must have items to be included and not to provide everything in white but none of these were considered. Now it has become impossible to keep those white cabinets and countertop clean and white and we are spending almost 2 hours every week. Bathroom fixtures are mismatching with faucet chrome and light black finish. Fans and daylight LED discs were not added so now we’ll have to spend thousands (4 times of original cost) on installing them and existing light fixtures will go in waste. We paid the highest for this model but didn’t get what we were expecting. Selection of bricks, island, countertop, cabinets, bathroom fixtures is poor and didn’t think through while selecting. Construction – Lot of things were done in a rush, paint, doors, floor, kitchen tiles and electrical outlets. Doors are making creaking sound already. Vinyl floor seems uneven and making noises at some places when we walk over. Before GKO we pointed out some issues, but construction didn’t take care of all those items. Doors are very quality and rough edges. Now we are spending several hours every week to call Warranty team and then again spending time to make sure those are fixed properly. There are few items which can’t be fixed now or will take lot of efforts to fix. Mortgage – Experience was frustrating and not transparent. Even with the best credit and excellent history we were imposed the highest possible mortgage rate. Still not sure why there was a charge for rate buy when the rate applied was already way higher than the market rate. Looks like having a good credit became disadvantage for us. ... More

I had an issue with water break and couldn’t o cult home for 2-3 weeks this is all after 2 weeks of closing Expected khov to ribose me with reimbursement for having to extend my lease by two Months still Not even one phone call

We have several warranty issues that have been issues since the day we moved in and have still not been resolved Our first warranty person was amazing but I do not know where she went. Her name was Skai I know we have been out on vacation but we told our warranty guy we had my 30 year old son staying at the house and still nothing has been done. We have a dishwasher that leaks water all over the house every time we run it. our HVAC sucks. Our countertops are still not been refinished. Our top stair needs to be refinished. There is wood stain spilled all over. The laminate wood flooring threshold’s are popping up. So definitely not a good quality for $1 million house. We were not given the option to purchase blinds as many of our neighbors were even when I asked our sales representative Kyle about it. It’s idiotic that you would put a clear glass window in a bathroom so that all the neighbors can just see you naked. This is the third house we built and fourth house we’ve owned and the worst quality. The landscaping you put in absolutely sucks. If you look at the Taylor Morrison homes, their landscaping is far superior and their house price point is a lot less. ... More

Overall the house is nice. Get into the details and its terrible they spoon feed you what you want to hear landscaping is trash. Many other problems if i didnt already put 10k towards the house i would have backed out due to lack of communication betwee khov employees and us yhe buyer

First home buying experience. We were very excited. Disappointed to find that our builder simply couldn't be bothered to hold the contractors to a high standard. His exact words when we pointed out the terrible tile work around our fireplace were, "our tile guys are B grade". We were told that we could have them re do it but it could be worse. We didn't have the option to delay closing. There were other things we didn't catch as well. Out of square door frames, cabinet doors not the same size with off color replacements. Interior paint job was terrible even after we stuck tape over the entire house during the walk through. Overall I feel like we over paid for what we got. ... More

Work of sub-contractors was sub par and became apparent after move in (paint dripped on carpet, grout missing in spots in bathroom, irrigation not properly installed, etc.) I know times are challenging in building currently, but for the price we paid for our home we feel a little cheated. Our close date got moved several times due to issues with labor, I guessed we figured the labor would be worth it but it wasn’t in the end. Communication was also lacking during the build process.
