Hi my experience with Khov was not the best. My experience with Adrian and Jacob who are the construction leads was horrible. Their responses to our issues after we closed was unprofessional and they made us feel as though our concerns were insignificant. I called Francisco the construction manager and he assisted us immediately with our concerns. I appreciate his assistance in correcting the issues. Our Khov lender Maritza was very responsive and helpful, we enjoyed working with her. Our sales associate Jon was very helpful. Contacted the warranty department several times and there is no response to solve the issues we are facing in our newly constructed home.

I am not at all happy with Khovnanian homes. The workmanship and quality of the builder is atrocious. When speaking with the builder he made it obvious that the company only allows him to hire the very worst of contractors to perform the building of the homes. I cannot say that I was pleased with any aspect of the construction of this home. I was happy with the fact that Home came blind and that the backyard was sodded. But none of the bathrooms were equipped with any towel hooks or towel bars. Also, I remodeled the master bathroom and discovered how the bathrooms were built and went to the builder and had all of the other bathrooms in the house redone because they were all built the same way. The toilet in my daughter’s room leaked, Thank God it was over the garage. You have fixed that. The garage interior door has not worked correctly since we moved in. All of the seals are breaking and falling off. This was after y’all sent your doorman to come work on it. I have been waiting three weeks for someone to come back and correct that issue.The air conditioner has not worked properly since we moved in. The electrician put in an undersized breaker that trips all of the time. We’ve had issues with Sheetrock not being finished properly and then the repairs to those having to be done three or four times over. The paint is literally the same color as the drywall mud so that if they miss a spot painting, an untrained, eye could not tell the difference. I really did not enjoy this process. Sales rep told us the "delete arches" was to remove the indented areas on walls where art is hung. We paid extra for that. At the initial construction meeting they told us no, that is for the arch's in the kitchen instead of squared off entries. Sales rep told us that is a structural change and we couldn't change it, even though it was her mistake. I don't know how that is structural, but okay. Overall, I felt like it was me against everyone. I had to fight my battles with the construction guys besides maybe 2 or 3 calls from sales rep asking if there is anything she needs to address prior to the Monday construction meeting. I should of hired an inspector from day one that inspected every step of the home. They told me there is a 3rd party inspector, but there is probably a conflict of interest there. I hired my own inspector and he found a ton of issues that weren't noted by the inspector. Ceiling joist were spread too far apart I'm thinking 19.5 and s/b 16. Support beam in master was a 2x8 instead of 2x12. Windows were not taped properly, some windows had siding and framing put on without tape. I was told they fixed it, they just taped over the siding and put framing back on. Inspector had to take the framing off to show it was taped wrong. They eventually fixed it after leaving it uncovered for weeks. In addition the black home wrap was ripped and it was just covered up with the framing around the windows, it was finally fixed. I had a floor plug in my living room, that after the foundation was poured, was not there. I asked about it and was told that it is just under the service so they could chip out the concrete. I told them I don't want them drilling into the foundation so if you don't find it then forget about it, long story short, they couldn't find it, so they drilled out the foundation and hit a post tension cable. Engineering company had to be called in to brace it and the foundation was filled. They found the floor outlet eventually. I may be missing some things but overall the construction process was a bad experience, I'm sure for both parties because I was constantly pointing things out. A big problem I had was I feel like I wasn't taken seriously until I brought in an inspector. I would meet with the construction manager and we would go over things, he wouldn't write one word down. It wasn't until I started putting things in emails that things started getting addressed. We eventually met with the builder, inspector, and myself. There was definitely some tension and the builder did not like that the inspector was pointing out mistakes. I have a gas line and electricity that could have gone along my fence line, but instead they ran it in the backyard that limits what I can use the area for. When I mentioned I bought the premium lot cause we wanted to do a pool, I was told there still plenty of room to do whatever I want. The gas runs a foot off the side of the house and straight back to the back fence. I don't know that this is a KHOV issue, but maybe it is. That leads into the trust factor. Before I brought in an inspector, I was told how great everything is going and was assured everything was done right, and I didn't know cause I'm not a home builder. My inspector came in and started showing me things that were done wrong and I felt like I couldn't trust anyone anymore, so I questioned everything. My biggest regret was not having an inspector day 1, he came in after framing started. He is a construction manager for another home builder and there were some things that he was stunned by the lack of quality for the cost of the home. After move in, everything has been good except some A/C issues. They had to replace the compressor on my A/C cause it wasn't working during the peak 100 degree whether, it got hot, but that isn't KHOVs fault. The A/C people have come out a few more times, KHOV team was great in getting A/C out for us. The front of our house is always 3 degrees warmer than the rest of the house, but that is apparently within what it should be. Even though the thermostat is on 73 at 4 A.M the front bedroom is still 76 and this is a single story 2200 square foot house. For the most part, everyone has been great after the move in. Only issues was some paint splatted on the floor that I asked the best way to remove, I was told not to worry and they would send someone to clean it up. It took over a month to finally get it done, which is why I'm finally writing this review. I understand people are busy so this isn't an issue. I'll add that I know the inspector was pointing out every issue he could find about everything. There were more things that I discussed with him that I told him were not a big deal. Maybe some of the things that we did press on were normal and just part of the process. I hated the experience, it was very stressful. I do enjoy the fact that I feel like I got a home a cut above the others because I had the inspector. Some days I think I would never do this again, but other times I think that I would just do it different. ... More

After my experience with K. Hovnanian, I cannot happily recommend the builder to my friends and family due to poor craftsmanship and attention to detail by the workers and internal KHov inspectors. The fact that the house passed quality standard inspections before our first walk is absurd as there was just so much to be fixed (underside of handrails on the stairs unpainted, multiple cracked and damaged door frames and doors, unfinished paint on ceilings…) after the first walk (Monday) which was scheduled FOUR days before closing (Friday). That clearly is just not enough time especially when they started fixing the issues on Thursday. In fact, on the day of closing they were still working to touch up all the areas on the pre-settlement walk list which should have already been done. I wish I could l share all the pictures here—doors were being placed and painted, outside of the house still undergoing repairs, blue tape still left on the majority of the house, stair handrails STILL unpainted, cleaning personnel just arriving after our “final walk”… it looked like we were walking in on the building process itself. How are we going to close on the home when the paint isn’t even dry yet? Unfortunately, every aspect near closing felt rushed, and I’m certain the workers felt so too. I only wish the workers had more time to address the problems so that they didn’t feel rushed. Instead, all the finishing touches just turned out sloppy when they could have paid more attention to the details if they had more time. The only positive experience we had during the entire process was having the pleasure to work with Shelby, our wonderful sales consultant. She went above and beyond to make sure that we were updated weekly and even took pictures when she could! We greatly appreciated her patience and recommendations she had for us during our selection and design appointments. Overall, we are very disappointed as I chose KHov to build our home due to the number of raving reviews we read beforehand. KHov probably does do a stellar job in other communities; however, from this experience here in Houston, it wasn’t exactly that. Unfortunately it looks like the builder’s mentality is not provide a good customer service., I had to deal with all kind of personnel starting with the sales agent all the way to the construction’s manager boss who was very disrespectful towards me. The craftsman used is a very low quality I did ask for the workers license and never were provided to me. The quality of the material used to build the house is very low it is not what we paid for the house. I hope someone really addresses those issues because the houses are not cheap.

Would love to have a more knowledgeable and helpful sales associate, with customer service skills on hand.

The houses are very beautiful but very bad customer service, after the closing of the house many details have appeared with the construction and the response to solve things is very slow, I would have preferred to choose another construction company

The builders, loan providers have lack in professionalism.

The sales agent does not know his product and does not stay in touch with his clients through the build process. The builder was responsive, however would make excuses as to why issues weren't taken care of. We are still dealing with an issue that was supposedly fixed after our walk through. It was a punch list item for the builder to resolve prior to closing and a month and a half later we are still dealing with the issue through the warranty department.

We are still waiting for issues that need to be addressed from the initial walk-through and it’s been over a months sense because the house. New superintendent is contacting us and he seems like is Trying to address the issues that were promised to be fixed before closing. The hard wood floor and bath- kitchen cabinets still need to be fixed. The reason for giving bad reviews for workmanship is because I have to replace a door knob, have to paint almost 5 door because it’s pealing from the bottom( this was’nt addressed are the at the walk through, the metal overnight on the upstairs mirror was chipped which we saw on the closing day, all door frames are not sealed at the bottom, garage doesn’t have wall base we’re we found to mice and other pest, AC is making too much noice and toilet water supply lines from building is sticking out from wall(it not installed properly. ... Our experience is different than most as this is a second home and our primary home is out of state. With that, we found several pieces of the processes were less than satisfactory. For example, the cabinetry in the home is unacceptable. We did not realize this until after closing. Because the poor quality of the cabinets, we are now remodeling the entire kitchen. We took every upgrade possible with the home, I am not sure why were not told the widest kitchen drawer would be 12". Perhaps if I had asked more questions during the design phase, this would have been uncovered. I also asked the building supervisor to leave the towel rods and not install, as I had ideas of where I wanted them placed and did not want to repair sheet rock and paint. After viewing the home, none of the rods were left. I've called and he says he will re-order and bring by .... waiting. In addition, we closed 6 weeks ago and there are several punch list items that have not been corrected by the team. Again, all of this is extended due to second home and we are only able to visit 1-2 x a month on the weekends. I THINK THE HOME DESIGN NEEDS SOME "WORK". EXAMPLE -- THE FAUCETS IN BATHROOMS ARE TOO SMALL (they can't be easily cleaned because the handles are way to close to the faucets.) THE CLOSET SHELVES ARE WAY TOO HIGH (a "normal" height woman can't reach them without a step ladder.) THE DISPOSAL SWITCH SHOULD BE RELOCATED TO THE TOP OF COUNTER (currently it's under the kitchen sink...very awkward.) Sorry, This is the best review I can give you.

I would never again trust a KHOV home, the build quality is poor, the home is seeing so many issues, and in general the neighborhood consensus matches my issues.

poor quality are materials the homes . l do not like the quality of the stuff, I have been unable to use the oven because when I turn it on, it releases a lot of gas immediately. This is a hazard. l sent a message to the building manager and he ask me to call GE. The master suite is tiny , l wish it was bigger because there is a lot of yard space.

The sales rep was terrific, but the quality of workmanship in the home was very poor. Inside and out, there have been areas that needed repair. The Warranty group has been easy to deal with, just unexpected to have to deal with so many problems that were not seen during final walk through of home. Would I buy another home from this builder, NO!

Bad. never again, these guys are amateurs.

Lot of issues with quality. 1) Water leakage within 4 days of house warming. 2) AC stopped working within 2 weeks. 3) Water stagnant on both Left and right sides of the home. 4) The response from the support and emergency teams is very bad. 5) Emergency team never answer the call. They call you after 2-3 days. 6) No response for emails too except the acknowledgement of the issue.

Use very cheap material to build house. The construction Rep on site will lie to you every time you want them to remediate on something. always have some excuse on what things are wrong.

A very sad experience don’t get me wrong the home is nice but, would not say very nice. They cut corners just about everywhere, from the last home I bought in Texas these people didn't throw in a lot of the upgrades that the other home did for the price you paid. There were issues from the start with almost all involved. You could not pick out anything due to COVID and this day and age, everything is either late or on a timeline and all depends on when they get items in for your house. The quality of workmanship was poor if any of these sub-contractors worked for me, they would be out of a job, there is no accountability whatsoever for anything that's done incorrectly or poorly. There aren’t very good communications between all parties at all I felt like I was running around in circles with trying to figure out who needed what and who wanted information they didn't talk to each other from the sales office to corporate. At one point a Carmen was very rude to me in an email, and I called her out on it. Then when I asked to be put in contact with her supervisor, which I had to go through the sales office lady just to get the name of her supervisor, or someone that I should contact about her rudeness. I got some by the name of Kimmie who tried to smooth things over but was just a rude as the person I was calling to complain about no one wanted me to talk to a higher up person, not even the sales lady Devra would share information about higher up's names or telephone numbers. It was like secret information that nobody wanted to put out. One of the funniest things that I found is when the home was going through the framing stage, I asked about sprinklers in the front yard the sales office lady told me it was too late for sprinklers, while they hadn't even broke ground on the landscaping so how could it have been too late to choose sprinklers for your front yard. For the initial walk-through we must've went through about two roles of blue tape that's how poor workmanship and quality was. Even though the construction manager was there every day she did a decent job but every time I brought up subcontractors, he just shook his head and said I know. He worked pretty hard on getting the first set of blue tape items completed, we still have quite a few on our cabinets need to be taken care of. Now thank goodness I had a home inspector general walk-through prior to me buying the house there was several things he found. A couple of big items were in the roof the flashing on a portion of the roof left a big gap that you could see inside the attic and from inside the attic outside. It seemed like nobody followed up and did their inspections like they should have when they were putting the roof on. It actually rained all the flashing was missing causing some of the water to get in the attic. Thank God I stayed persistent on them so they could get it fixed if I didn't it probably never would've gotten fixed. They have even painted our shutters on the outside of her home the wrong colors, if I went to said anything to the sales office, they probably would've left them the wrong color. I wonder if anybody was even looking at the plans when it came time to build in the home. They said they're going to fix them; we'll see how long that takes. I can go on and on about issues, from the dying grass, to how they laid the sod, and buried pieces of metal and debris underneath the lawn. There's so many to list it just would take forever. They want to nickel and dime you for everything heart of the gutter in the front yard leaks into the landscaping the landscapers should've booted up the drainpipes to fit the downspout so it will leak out they wanted to charge me $180 for a little piece of metal to divert the water into the gutter. Why should I have to pay hundred and $180 to fix their mistake. The heater didn't work in the house, and they can figure out why, I haven't had to use it yet, but they say it's been fixed will soon find out. I did actually have a leak in my garage, and it was running down the inside of the sheet rock again another piece of flashing that had not worked or that they missed. Now I'm waiting for them to come out and tear the wet sheet rock down and replace it in my garage. But to them it's not a rush job it's whenever they get around to it or the sheet rockers can be in the neighborhood. Even though the construction manager tries to communicate he still doesn't know when subcontractors is can be there to fix things, no accountability again his appointment should be made met and kept and they should be held accountable if they miss their appointment. If you're going to schedule something they need to be there. They should be delaying on getting wet sheet rock removed and new sheet rock up. Again, the construction manager did a good job of trying to get things done, he kept telling me that his pay depended on how I rated him, Nomo I think is really trying to get things done and do a professional job but is being held up by others involved. There was this person name Cary who when I first met thought would be a great person that would be helping with a lot of items, he was Nomo's boss, but I guess he failed also he's just as bad as the rest no accountability and not a very pushy person to wanting to get things done in a timely fashion. That's one thing that I noticed none of these people are a big hurry to get things done for you as a customer when you spend this much money on a home. Again, I feel that they cut corners just about everywhere. I'm sure within the year I'll find more issues, now I understand homes have issues, but it seemed like every time I turn around there's something else. I highly doubt it, but I hope that management reaches out to me, they need to hear about the people that are building their homes, selling their homes, and working with you as a customer to closure home. Zero craftsmanship, we have a big punch list of items that they haven’t fixed yet. their craftsmanship is really poor. they don’t reply to any of your emails. just a bad deal for your $$$

Would buy from another builder. Very poor quality on workmanship and materials. Had several issues with home and refused to properly fix. They try to hide all issues and rig up repairs. 1-issue of many I just fixed on my own was had to re-level front yard. There were huge humps and holes in front and back yard. Took 8-wheelbarrows of trash, concrete and debris underneath grass; which caused all the grass to die. Can not install grass on trash. Cost me an additional 1500.00 extra out of pocket right after moving in. They don not fix or want to fix anything. Also they will not install grass in the back yard. Overall will never ever buy another house from K-HOV or recommend to anyone I know. ... More

A nightmare everything was delayed and communication was mediocre

This is a great builder with great product for the price point Lots of value !!! I would recommend that you make sure you get a good sales person to help the homebuyer process go as smooth as possible. My salesperson did not do a good job of making my experience memorable .

Cooperate is awful. The office was terrible with customer service.,, Construction Manager was all that was helpful through the entire process.
