The builder met each milestones in the construction process. Builder informed us of any delays and was able to make the lost time to complete the house on time. On few occasions, we had to follow-up with the builder.

The process was pretty smooth throughout. The builders themselves did a wonderful job. The home is absolutely gorgeous and I love it. The liaison/realtor was excellent. She did a fantastic job throughout the entire process. She was incredible with communication and keeping us up to date. Any company should be proud to have her. Now the issue is there was a grading issue that the company had with the city, and the VP of construction failed to inform his team of. The builders and everyone else on the typical level you would meet with had no idea of the issue, and they all said we could build a fence. The evening before our closing date we got a call that informed us we could not move in due to the city holding the occupancy permits due to said issue above. The team had no idea and very quickly went to work on finding out what was wrong. Finally after two days of the VP supposed to give me a call to inform me of the issues, he stated he knew of the issue and that we could not build a fence. He also blatantly admitted they gambled with the revised plans being accepted in time for us to close instead of informing the customers that there would be an issue at all. Very poor communication from upper management and even to their own teams. The accounting and legal team didn't know we weren't closing on that until I reached out to them to inform them as they were waiting for us to show up for closing. Finally agreeing to the cities wishes of installing drain piping we were able to close two months late. This may have been a one time thing. Let me start off by saying the sales process in the beginning was fantastic. K. Hov had a fantastic sales representative that really took care of us and made us feel like part of the family. The whole process was great. We got to see our house every step of the way being built. They let us walk through whenever we wanted with very short notice. It was very transparent very the day we went to look at our dream house/lot. At the end of the process is when it became a real show. Our closing was delayed due to permitting issues with the city. We finally got to sign, almost a month after our original move in date to only find out an easement was added to our back yard which only allows us to use 50% of the back yard because of drainage concerns and incorrect grading by K. Hov on the lot. One week into our new home, the entire finished basement flooded with community sewage. It was found by the city that a builder had blocked the main sewer line with concrete and construction debris. Again, K. Hov quality control person was very responsive and worked through the pandemic very well to keep us updated with when they were coming to repair the basement damage. They sent someone out to clean within a couple hours, the plumber was contacted within an hour and the city showed up within ten minutes of the flood. The employees of K. Hov definitely deserve better management from the top. When I contacted K. Hov president to express my displeasure, he didn't seem to care. He wanted me to go through my homeowners insurance when it was clearly their fault. I threatened to sue and he told me to go ahead. Very rude. I expressed my concern about buying our dream home and not being able to use the yard and he said thats something you should have looked into before signing the papers. The employees should go work for a company who cares. We have been fighting with the builder and the city now for almost three months to get the drainage issue in the back resolved before the basement ends up flooding again. Make sure you get the radon tested before you buy a home -- K. Hovnanian is very quick to deny any responsibility for it. Some of the K. Hovnanian people were very responsive to our needs, and others were less so.

The home seems built well, but during the sales process, the sales agent was horrible about getting back to us with answers to questions or when we needed to make changes. The home seems to be built well, and through the process the construction manager was pretty good. But we've had a couple issues (mostly completely dead sod and plants right at settlement) and these things still aren't resolved. I keep getting told they'll be done, but it's been over a month and nothing has been done. Followed up a few times and I just get long winded explanations and excuses.

Pricey, pushy sales people, but great overall product in the end.

When you build a home in 4 months, don't expect quality craftsmanship. Lots of interior issues - drywall/paint defects. Landscape is a 3/10 at best. Sprinklers not sitting flush with the ceiling. Lack of customizing. Overall, I wouldn't pick a KHov build for our next home.

There is too muc turn over and issues are not resolved. There were short cuts made and many mistakes. The garage door has never been fixed. Orlando and so many other good people quit because they were overworked and underpaid. The buyers all suffer as a result.

The poorest quality home I have ever bought. It was supposed to be new but the quality of the crafmanship leaves a lot to be desired, specially the painting job, sloppy and poor quality paint. The paint over frames is full of crumbs, that will require sanding and repainting . I was told that buy as it is after I had put my downpayment. The person responsable for responding to issues was excellent, The windows would not open and they came and fixed them almost all. Problems with a breaker they also fixed, overall very responsive.

Our options regarding architectural design of the home were not explicit right from the beginning. The visit to the "Design Gallery" as well as the "Sight and Sound" agency, where selections of the "Digital Communication Systems (including Security and phone/internet providers), shapes, styles and quality of interior fixtures' materials and other "finishing" specifications ought to have been done and customers' preferences pinned down and priced out before binding Sales Contracts are signed. This is because we ultimately signed the sales contract agreement and paid the required deposit before visiting the "design Gallery where some of our needed selections were unavailable. The salesperson insisted that since the contract had been signed, our choices were limited to what were available. Otherwise, failure to choose from the available limited options, would lead to forfeiture of our deposit. Two toned interior painting of the home which was marked to us in the sales brochure, was discontinued when it was time to build our home. So only one tone color paint was used for our home. Thus we felt short changed. While waiting for completion of our home, the company in the interim, had a special sales program that lowered the sale price (by $38,000) of the same home model as we bought . The sales person refused to make any adjustment for us to synchronize with the advertised new sale price., This refusal occurred despite the fact that construction of our new home, was yet to start. Initially when we were first looking at the properties all was wonderful, then our representative ghosted us days after closing without a word when we needed her most, we noticed the poor craftsmanship of the home almost immediately after moving in, doorknobs falling off in your hand, constant knocking noise from the walls, paint splatters on floors, doors wilted all around with dents an holes, carpet pokes, tiles separating, grout splatters, leaks, electrical issues, the list goes on an on. We expected so much better from KHov, they really need to put more effort into the quality of their homes. ... More

The buying process with Khov should have been straightforward, but we faced several challenges. Our salesperson was not helpful, and the tight schedule made it difficult to thoroughly review the contract, closing details, and warranty information. There were discrepancies in the final delivery, and negotiation was off the table. The salesperson has since left the community, likely moving to another. Overall, it was a stressful and disappointing experience purchasing a new build with Khov."

Great floor plans and locations.

The basic materials used in half a million dollars house a joke.

Have some problems with the house that could of been avoided if the workers pay attention to details. Problems such as leaking. The workers wants to build too fast to meet a death line even after I told them to take their time but to build a quality product.

Too many issues with poor quality of workmanship & materials for a new home in this price range.

The shower grout is not good, the baseboard in the floor is loose, the closet magnet are not catching very well, the lament floors are starting to come up even after I have mopped the floor with a damped cloth. The elevators are a big issue. I was told that cement will be placed on top of the ceiling. However, you can hear when furniture is being moved or a kid jumping up and down. You can hear when someone is walking on their floor.

Had worst home closing experience for my property I had purchased in Virginia. Hand off and co-ordination was a total chaos, disorganized experience. Encountered Construction issues and it took weeks to bring it to closure. Poor management oversight and ensuring quality of the construction and warranty resolution. My advice to the management is Customer service can be lot better and closely monitor construction issue resolution.

Having lived in different parts of the country, we’ve experienced many different developers, and builders…none as poor quality and value as K.Hovnanian homes. After viewing the models, we were extremely hopeful and excited to build, during some of the building process and once we moved in we realized that many of the design aspects and quality were simply not up to par for the price paid. This sentiment has been expressed by several of us who have recently moved in. While there are aspects of the house, we like there are more design and quality aspects that would cause us to run far away from ever buying with K. Hovanian again. ... More

Used K. Hov expecting a different experience from other builders in the past. But it was about the same. The sales team was amazing, but the construction of the home is my issue. The quality of materials are faulty and super inexpensive. For the cost of the home, I shouldn't of had to call the warranty manager to fix multiple issues within the first month of owning a brand new home. While the warranty manager is very responsive and professional. She definitely has job security especially when the construction workers are working at night with hard hat lights to build homes.

Check the everything one by one

Did not go as well as planned but the major issues were with the Mortgage company. Way to many issues to list but it was an absolutely horrible experience. Some issues with the building process but that went pretty well and we settled on time. Mistakes were corrected and some had to do with supply chain issues.

I purchased this home at a reduced price on a county program. Maybe I received subpar service/products because of that. Either way, I would NEVER purchase at full price from K.Hovnanian based on my experiences with the salesperson, the construction managers, and the warranty manager.

KHOV sales and design center are not concerned with the best interest of the buyer, and you need to ensure all discussions are in writing. Truthfully I would not have purchased from this builder knowing what I do now, and the dishonesty that is plagued throughout the process.
