Good Service

The process was pretty smooth throughout. The builders themselves did a wonderful job. The home is absolutely gorgeous and I love it. The liaison/realtor was excellent. She did a fantastic job throughout the entire process. She was incredible with communication and keeping us up to date. Any company should be proud to have her. Now the issue is there was a grading issue that the company had with the city, and the VP of construction failed to inform his team of. The builders and everyone else on the typical level you would meet with had no idea of the issue, and they all said we could build a fence. The evening before our closing date we got a call that informed us we could not move in due to the city holding the occupancy permits due to said issue above. The team had no idea and very quickly went to work on finding out what was wrong. Finally after two days of the VP supposed to give me a call to inform me of the issues, he stated he knew of the issue and that we could not build a fence. He also blatantly admitted they gambled with the revised plans being accepted in time for us to close instead of informing the customers that there would be an issue at all. Very poor communication from upper management and even to their own teams. The accounting and legal team didn't know we weren't closing on that until I reached out to them to inform them as they were waiting for us to show up for closing. Finally agreeing to the cities wishes of installing drain piping we were able to close two months late. This may have been a one time thing. Since the initial meeting with the sales representative, my wife and I have been extremely pleased on our choice to buy a home built by K. Hovnanian. We were kept informed throughout the process and everyone that we worked and communicated with have been very pleasant and total professionals. Even after moving in, we have been contacted and continuously asked 'If all was well with the home?' We have nothing but great comments and do feel like we bought into a new family.

We are so happy with our new home. We didn't plan on buying a new construction but this area is convenient to Quantico and well desired. I wish there was a bit more retail & restaurants closer but we can get to most in FXBG within 15-20 mins depending on traffic. David W. did a fantastic job during our walk-thru of showing every detail of the house and its utilities. KHov seems to have a great reputation as a builder and after a month+ I have no complaints.

Obviously there are a lot of good things about this builder. The things that i liked most: 1- Affordable price 2 - Responsive 3 - Straightforward process 4 - Helpful people Thanks for the sales and construction team for helping us make our dream a reality.

Great experience overall

The practices are unethical. I regret purchasing my home with K. Hovnanian. This was the worst experience.

Great Job

Do not trust them when they say their home inspector is top notch. We have found a lot of issues since moving in. A lot due to poor workmanship and no quality control on the work being done. That said they are super responsive to issues which arise and work to fix it. But it’s a headache that should have been taken care of before hand. In closing, hire your own realtor to help you and no matter what get a home inspector.

Good experience overall, but somewhat major items were missed such as 2 ceiling fan rough-ins. Getting issues resolved after move in is slow.

K. Hovnanian Homes has been a god send. When I walked into the office and met Crystal, I had so many doubts and fears about buying a home on my own. When COVID-19 hit, I didn't know what to expect.. From the beginning Crystal has been such a joy to work with and has encouraged me every step of the way. When she introduced me to Alex, his encouraging smile and expertise on my home, made me know that I was working with a great team. I am in my "Blessing", and I thank God for the great people that stood by me during this awesome journey. You are a five star in my book.

Great quality and finishes as well as layout choices. The staff has been very accommodating and helpful throughout all stages of the process. Overall very satisfied and would recommend to others. Looking forward to spending many years in our wonderful new home.

The house is our dream but due to bad grading in the back, we have a swamp like area. After several weeks of back and forth with the builder, we had to get the city inspector to cease occupancy permits for the remainder of the development before they would entertain correcting the grading. It has been a month now since they had stated they were going to fix the issue but still haven't started the work. They also haven't fixed the chip in the bathroom counter that happened before home inspection.

Let me start off by saying the sales process in the beginning was fantastic. K. Hov had a fantastic sales representative that really took care of us and made us feel like part of the family. The whole process was great. We got to see our house every step of the way being built. They let us walk through whenever we wanted with very short notice. It was very transparent very the day we went to look at our dream house/lot. At the end of the process is when it became a real show. Our closing was delayed due to permitting issues with the city. We finally got to sign, almost a month after our original move in date to only find out an easement was added to our back yard which only allows us to use 50% of the back yard because of drainage concerns and incorrect grading by K. Hov on the lot. One week into our new home, the entire finished basement flooded with community sewage. It was found by the city that a builder had blocked the main sewer line with concrete and construction debris. Again, K. Hov quality control person was very responsive and worked through the pandemic very well to keep us updated with when they were coming to repair the basement damage. They sent someone out to clean within a couple hours, the plumber was contacted within an hour and the city showed up within ten minutes of the flood. The employees of K. Hov definitely deserve better management from the top. When I contacted K. Hov president to express my displeasure, he didn't seem to care. He wanted me to go through my homeowners insurance when it was clearly their fault. I threatened to sue and he told me to go ahead. Very rude. I expressed my concern about buying our dream home and not being able to use the yard and he said thats something you should have looked into before signing the papers. The employees should go work for a company who cares. We have been fighting with the builder and the city now for almost three months to get the drainage issue in the back resolved before the basement ends up flooding again. Again, great upfront process and great employees. They just work for a president who doesn't care once he gets his money from the homeowners. ... More

Love our home if any issues very fast to come and fix

My sales representative made my home buying experience painless and non stressful. She was very knowledgeable and helpful. Everyone throughout the experience was kind and helpful and continues to be even after I’ve been living here for a month. I love my home and I know I will be happy here for a very long time.

I am very happy with the process and outcome of this whole experience. My house is beautiful and I couldn't be happier. The only issue I have is the water pressure. It is not as strong as it should be. Was told to go to the County to get this reconciled.

The company lied to us about drainage issues on the property from Day one and created a false appraisal of the new home, cheating out and lying to federal regulators.

Great team to work with from start to closing.
