Buying experience was quite easy because we used KHOV recommended companies and we didn't have to go find closing and insurance companies on our own.

I was hoping by now items would have been addressed properly. 5 months into the home and some items are still not fixed or addressed appropriately. I am usually patient but it's been too long now and temporary fixes are not the way to go.

The term "production home" is thrown around and should be heeded as a warning. Every K HOV employee we encountered from sales through build and warranty were great people. Unfortunately they work for a company that leaves them to the task of having to make excuses for generally poor quality build workmanship. Look at the walls carefully. They try to tell you it's a "textured finish", but anyone who has ever done drywall will quickly recognize compound that was applied and never sanded. When the late-day sun hits it we want to cry. We paid a ridiculous amount to upgrade our kitchen cabinets and have them painted white. What we got are cabinet doors a different shade of white than drawer fronts. My wife and I are both retired CEOs and we're shocked by KHOV's response. They don't stand behind the product they sell, but rather put you in a direct dispute with their supplier trying to remove themselves from the situation. Any other company in business would ensure things were made whole with THEIR customer before dealing with quality issues directly between themselves and their supplier. They've drug the fight out for almost 4 months to the point that we're doing what they hoped we would, in our exhaustion paying thousands out of pocket to just get the cabinets repainted so we can ... Wonderful experience from the sales consultant all the way through the construction foreman. And when we did our punch list all was taken care of in a timely manner. 3 months later and we love it!

Smooth process, from sales to settlement. We love our home, nice high ceilings and a wonderful flow for entertaining. We would have liked a little more flexibility in the finishes

First the good; our Superintendent Tim Burns has been terrific through the process of the two homes we bought this year at Four Seasons. He has been responsive, informative and extremely helpful with any issues we have had. Please extend our appreciation to Mr. Burns. Now the not so good; while most of the workmanship is fine there have been a few things that were not acceptable even for a non-custom home. Trim work was fair at best, paint was simply not very good. (awe had our home completely repainted inside), stair railing has glue marks that did not take the stain and it is very noticeable. Overall we like our house. Construction unfortunately over promised and under delivered!!!!

Builder's representative was not thorough or helpful and promises made were not kept. Overall quality of workmanship is below average at best.

HOMES PRESENT HIGH MONTHLY PAYMENTS FOR HOMEOWNERS AND SEEMS LIKE FUTURE HOA INCREASES IN THE FUTURE WILL ADD TO HOMEOWNERS CONCERNS. ALSO FRONT LANDSCAPE DOES NOT HAVE MUCH APPEAL AT ALL IN MY OPINION.

My home purchasing experience with K. Hovnanian has been a remarkable journey. My wife and I searched so many residential communities in Virginia and other states, before settling in Four Seasons at Kent Island in Chester Maryland. Our newly built spec home already included many of the features we desired. Marvelous flooring, up-to-date appliances, high ceilings, and a beautiful loft style kitchen. Throughout the entire home purchasing process and there after, we have received exemplary professional and courteous service from all the different components that makeup the Four Seasons at Kent Island. We are truly happy with K. Hovnanian residential building style, our spacious Kelly home, and the amenities that are available and associated with this wonderful community. The buying process was generally good, the the designs and workmanship in the house was good, and we are very happy with our new home. A few issues don't get good follow up the builders are very busy and slow to respond. Overall it's a lovely community design that meets expectations.

From the beginning, promises were not kept. We were out-of-towners and that really hurt us. They blamed the poor workmanship on sub par contractors. At the price point charged, they should not be hiring poor contractors. We heard way too many times, "we can't fix that, that is just how it is". Also, design choices were very limited. We would not choose them again.

Our project manager has been tremendous and very responsive, which has been good, but we have had SO many issues that stem from poor workmanship and materials. Our "upgraded" kitchen cabinets are flimsy at best and the quartz is extremely poor quality, but we're stuck with them. We've had a foundation leak, a plumbing issue that led to a flood and mold in the basement, improperly finished ceiling tape/mud which led to our ceilings having to be completely redone, a broken garage door, dishwasher, and fireplace. In addition, the caulking throughout the house is inferior and we have a lot of squeaky floor joists. All this and we haven't lived here for 3 months yet. We have bought four new construction houses and this one, BY FAR, is the most poorly constructed. That said, the builder has built a wonderful neighborhood that we love and a good floorplan. If we would have known what we know now, we would have gotten standard everything and then hired contractors to put in a kitchen, floors, and bathrooms. ... More

From the day we put our deposit down, we were told the date the house was going to be ready for us to receive the keys, and they were right on the date. Having 45 years of construction experience myself, K Hovnanian Builders are by far the most impressive builders I have experienced. Quality workers, materials, and clean jobsites. We had a list of items that were needed to be completed before the house could closed, and they were all taken care of, with `15 minutes to spare, thanks to the efforts of everyone, from the workers, foreman, supervisors, all the way to the main man in the office. I've had to use a contractor to correct the shoddy work that went into the building of this house. My question is: Who is paying off the inspectors to pass the "pop and slop" that goes into the construction of these homes.

From first steps in the model homes the KHOV team has been professional and have delivered us a home of quality

Our project manager Tim was great to deal with and Michelle in the warrantee and home repair area has been great with any issues that have come up. Working on our 45 day punch list now and moving along nicely. Steve in the sales office has been very helpful through the whole process.

The home buying process was outstanding with the sales agent. The fixing of the warranty part is something to consider.

We love our home. We had a few things that were not quite ready at settlement but were taken care of promptly. Dylan is an outstanding job supervisor. He took care of everything we needed done.

Our salesperson, Shannon, was excellent: Friendly, knowledgeable throughout the contract review process, follow-up and notably detail-oriented. Maintenance issues were made easy online and by phone with Paul and when meeting in person with Rich. Both were conscientious, went above and beyond, and wete also friendly. Actual "professional" maintenance work has been disappointing. One straightforward "fix" by someone with "many years of experience" was so amateurish and frankly wrong, that we will redo it ourselves. The other fix was made, but took longer to troubleshoot because of a lack of smarts. Online request made in Paul's absence, was responded to by Victoria, who seemingly misunderstood the issue raised, and while info was provided, the tone of the email response was borderline rude. I will try to deal with only Paul in the future. Overall, having moved in three months ago, we are very pleased with our home. However, before the eleventh month of coverage is up, we will hire an independent professional home inspector to identify any issues we are unaware of at present. ... More

The process was so simple, the agent and lead builder were amazing and was always ready to answer my questions

KHov team provided quality, professionalism, courtesy, follow-through and service from design to construction to post-move in. They are a bit pricey but well worth the money.

While the homes are beautiful the workmanship is subpar. Make sure you get an independent pre drywall and pre settlement inspection. Money well spent to ensure issues are documented.

The paint and caulk work throughout the house is less than acceptable. Many of the windows have small cracks in the drywall. If you rub on the wall the paint comes off along with the texture. The windows in the rear of the house were missing seals causing sand to come through the openings. The washing machine made loud noises since the first time we used it. No hot water to the main kitchen sink. The repairs are slowly being scheduled at this time.
