I was hoping by now items would have been addressed properly. 5 months into the home and some items are still not fixed or addressed appropriately. I am usually patient but it's been too long now and temporary fixes are not the way to go.

The home buying process was outstanding with the sales agent. The fixing of the warranty part is something to consider.

I live my home but the quality is more like a $300K house than a $700K house. Fixtures are off center, none of the walls are plumbed. I wanted to glaze my walls but they did such a poor job with the taping, muddying and initial paint that it look horrible. Putting up shelves is a lesson in futility because the walls are either conclaves or just plain crooked. Don’t get me started on the lack of ceiling lights. The Design Center prices are a joke … they mark up every 5 times the value.

The buying experience was great! The house needs a lot of work. We are having trouble getting anything fixed. Its been 3 months since closing and we have yet to move in. The quality of workmanship is poor. The value is yet to be determined as we have yet to move in. The builder’s team is very slow to respond to issues. Promises at closing have yet to be addressed. If buying from this builder, its best that I don't say.

Everything is exactly as promised.

Was led to believe green treed land behind home would remain. Now it has been razzed and will be built out. A berm with foliage would be helpful and appreciated. Traffic congestion to follow??? Home owners in the dark about what is going on there, including Hovnanian's staff, ie; sales and HOA and are reluctant to find out. Unsatisfactory.

Our experience with Zack was superb. Kept us up to date, responded to questions and concerns quickly, was exceptional and competent to work with. K.Hov should give him a raise he deserves one.

Overall I’m very pleased. Our home is solid and any warranty issues have been quickly solved. Sales people have been very pleasant and helpful. The home buying process needs to be simplified and fine tuned, specifically the financing through K Hov and the pricing in general.

Overall, my experience has been very good. From the purchase - where Alyssa did an outstanding job, to the construction - where Todd kept the build on track and answered all my questions, to the warranty follow up - where Mike and Matt have taken great care of me and my couple of issues with prompt and efficient service.

The sales people hung in with us till we sold our home which we appreciate. We like the new house, but there are features I would change. For example each bathroom does not have its own GFCI, they are interlocked with one bathroom (which in SC is ok but not what we are used to and is a nuisance). Also we initially did not have a cover on our attic, which was corrected. Also the cabinet doors hit either walls or other cabinets so I had to apply bumpers. The light switches are not identified and we were told we just will need to get used to them with a suggestion to put labels on switches. We are not thrilled with the garage door which leaves some light coming through around the edges. Over all everything we pointed out was corrected (except for above which we just need to adjust to). Everyone was wonderful from the sales agent to the Contractors and Builders. Very responsive to my needs.

Our experience was overall very good however we did want a specific lot which they said we would have to pay a high premium along with a Lot premium. In the end a couple did purchase said lot for what we paid for ours. Just a little disappointed in that!

Problem is several gold key walk thru items were missed which is turning into a lot of warranty type items. Having to put in so many warranty requests does not bode well for the quality of workmanship. Inconsistencies include light switches not following standard placement plan (several had to be moved to keep them consistent from room to room. Having plumber back 2 times for things that should have been validated prior to closing (e.g. mud room faucet needed to be straightened & main floor tub was clogged with building material). Metal Entry door from garage painted with latex paint and it peeled off. Shower grout replaced with caulking (this is not a long term feasible process), My expectations of a quality home were not exceeded given the $$$$$$. on the positive side. Love the location, amenities, floor plans and most of all the community as the neighbors et al are outstanding sharing our retirement and oh yes the weather is splendid vs north east. ... More

Sales process was very smooth & everyone was great to work with but final walk thru process & home delivery process needs some work. Not quite the gold key delivery they advertise.

This will be a great community for those 55+ once the amenities are in place and some of the early development challenges are overcome. The people are great that have been moved in so far. The Delaware people for K. Hovanian are outstanding and always willing to assist or help.

The process of purchase was good with a lot of different contacts and hands which worked together.

After 3 months, we are satisfied with the quality and performance of K.Hov as a builder. There are some issues regarding who is responsible-builder or developer, but all things considered we are happy to date.

The overall experience working with KHov was positive. However, for a home costing over $500,000 there are so many finishing touches that are below standard.

Overall, our experience was a positive one. Sales and design were very good. Communication during the actual construction phase was limited. There should be much more information shared without having to ask for it. Pictures and updates need to happen more often... especially for out of state customers. Prior to closing, I believe there should have been more attention paid to details, as per my discussion with Jason. That would save time (and money)for KHOV by sending contractors back out to address issues that should been checked earlier. This will also save aggravation for homeowners,which is the most important thing. With that being said, since we have moved in, Ben has been fantastic. He responds to calls/texts promptly and addresses any issues that have come up. ... More

Love the new home. Wish there were options to make the home smart (lighting, thermostat, locks, alarm, etc...). High quality workmanship except paint quality could have been better (better quality paint material, attention to detail...drips, blemishes on the surface, especially molding and drips on the flooring). I would have rated higher in Quality if painting were more meticulous/higher degree of attention to detail. Regarding responsiveness of issues, easy to raise requests for service, not all issues have resulted in response / closure.

Several issues with trim, drywall, cabinet, countertop fit/finish issues that should have been caught before the house was handed over, but Amanda has been great on getting everything fixed as quickly as possible. Overall pretty happy with the house, very happy with KHov’s response.

We love living here and the community/property is beautiful.

Had to fly back a week later to do the walk through. We planned it for one date and they missed it. Had to buy another airline ticket to come back the following week. On my $$$.

The build process interactions with construction foreman and sales people were good and provided an idea of progress from design towards completion. The lot premium was a bit excessive considering the highway noise. Then we were not allowed to specify materials which would remediate it, without changing the appearance. The sales/ construction team dropped the ball on the number of gas taps and forced us to use their electric appliances which altered the back up generator requirements. The Media port installations used twice the amount of materials that were required and used miniscule wire gauge for the speakers, which limited the low frequency response of the speakers. The responsiveness of the construction crew to issues and questions was excellent. Explanation of construction progress and reviews were also excellent. Delivery was smooth. Above average starts from a low bar around here, but generally, we're happy overall. The people are what makes this community so great. Building our home from scratch long distance was made as easy as possible, but was still a chore. The largest miss in the design experience was not being able to see all our choices together in a virtual environment. That color combination you liked may not look the same in real life. Quality of build is average plus. Several construction issues found by our inspector were corrected, but should never have been made in the first place (e.g., warped studs incorrectly remediated, electrical wiring mistakes) and some were contested by the builder and not remediated (e.g., roofing nail spacing). Some choices made by the builder were problematic (e.g., noisy, high sones bathroom exhaust fans, very thin coating of wall paint - masking tape on the wall peels out chunks when removed, no insulation over the garage). After-build support was very good. Customer service was very responsive. ... More
