The quality of yhr home is very good, but completion was rushed to get us moved in. Lots of minor issues, but most were taken care of in a somewhat timely fashion. It took an unnecessary 3 months to have our stone front out on, but finally done. Josh, our builder was great, as well as our warranty person Frank.

The KHov Sales Team was very responsive to any and all questions and issues. Once construction began, I was introduced to the Construction Foreman who stayed in communication with me throughout the build. As with any new build their are always mechanical and structure issues which the KHov is very responsive to. The only real complaint I have is the upgraded cabinetry that we purchased through the design center. It is flimsy and obviously slight in quality. Aside from that we are extremely please with our new KHov Starlight 39 home in beautiful Indio, CA

I felt that during the process, Dawn cost me money by her incompetence and lack of communication. I asked her to send me a contract and she did not, then the price went up, which i was trying to avoid. I was irritated at the entire process. The ugrades were terrible and all cost a lot!

Quality of materials and workmanship very good, no issues about, all itens discussed during negotiations step, fine, except refrigerator, vendor said will not be included, but will try, and after that, even with my e-mail about, no reply about this subject. Still no issues , mainly because we still dont move in. Sure we recomend this builder.

Khov is not interested in customer satisfaction. I had to fight to get things right and still lost even though they were safety issues.

Barbara was extraordinary and kept in touch with us weekly, since we lived 461 miles away. She kept of abreast of all aspects of our build, took pictures, and answered any questions that we had during the entire process. She was our eyes and ears onsite. Froy's customer service is excellent .Great working with him.

From the day that we signed the contract in March 2022 until we got our keys in October 2022, everything went very smoothly And without a delay or hitch. We were warned by others that the post COVID time would creat delays, never happened. Stacy, our sales representative put all the paperwork together and James, our project manager did the rest! We have been in the house for 4 months and love it! We have 2 minor issues, but Josh, the Warrenty rep. Took care of them right away. I ca not say enough good things about our experience with KHovnanian Homes!

My overall experience with my K Hovnanian buying experience is extremely positive. Beginning with my initial visit to the community, I found all members of the professional staff to be excellent. My sales representative (Curtis) was very helpful and attentive to my many questions/concerns throughout the purchase and construction phases of my new home. He would throughly research issues or questions requiring clarification. He was always prompt in responding to my needs and is a credit to the Hovnanian organization. The interior designer that I worked with (Kristen), exhibited high levels of expertise in helping me identify, evolve and bring to fruition my interior design objectives for my new home. She helped me to explore a variety of design options which greatly enhanced both the beauty and utility of my home’s interior space. She made the laborious process of selecting between a multitude of interior design choices an enjoyable and enlightening experience. The production supervisor for my new home (Carlos) was truly excellent in overseeing and keeping me informed about all aspects of the construction process associated with my home. He kept me well informed about construction progress/details associated with the home through texts/photos/phone calls and was responsive to my many questions. During the construction and the pre-settlement inspection of the home, Carlos (1) provided excellent supervision of all aspects of the home’s construction process, (2) promptly responded to all of my questions regarding construction details and progress reports; (3) identified and subsequently coordinated the correction of a few interior repairs by subcontractors in an excellent fashion; and (4) exhibited great patience in explaining the technicalities of both the construction process and the operation of all of the major mechanical/HVAC systems for the home to both my wife and myself. He is truly a valuable asset to the Hovnanian organization. The individuals managing the community’s home owner’s association are also very good at informing community members about events or other issues impacting quality of life in the community. We understand supply chain issues. We understand labor issues. We understand nothing is perfect. That all being said we are enjoying are home and the neighborhood more and more each day. One quick note…. From the sales office to the construction guys out here on site they have all been great, a 10 rating to them all for putting up with us. Give them a raise they deserve it.

Nice people, some craftsmanship could use improvement

From the time we bought our house until we moved in, everything has been an excellent and seamless experience.

Salesperson would not help with problems. Poor workmanship. Throw a customer over the bridge. They could care less about workmanship and customer service!!K

The workmanship of the various trades is horrible. Talking with other new residents not a single one has had a good experience with the quality of the home. The only good thing is the neighborhood seems to be very friendly.

The model we chose suits our lifestyle; it is beautiful. However, many issues were not dealt with prior to closing. Could be the victims of not enough help; however, the quality control was surely missing in this home buying process/experience. For nearly $700K home pricepoint, I would have expected better quality from the trades. Even the windows are subpar. Even now almost 4 months later, the customer service follow up on this side alone is not good. I am still waiting on cabinet fixes and between the customer service center and vendor they cannot get orders right. No timely follow up either. I may escalate this yet. My advice do not close until 100% right (small things at 11 month ok but not the MAJOR!). ... More

Building a home is a stressful situation. If I am to describe our experience I would have to say it was lacking in many areas. The sales group was wonderful. The building portion was the worst I have seen. The craftsmen ship that was allowed to occur was horrendous. The after the sale care has been good. It is hard to keep tabs when contractors don't show up for their appointment to fix shoddy work.

We looked at many 55+ communities in our price range and found this to be the best value by far. The sales staff was very attentive (not a surprise) as was the construction team that followed up on everything after we moved in (big surprise!) Very happy with our choice!

Disappointed with the details for price paid

From Sales, to Design , to the Builder Foreman, I had excellent cooperation and a true desire to answer any questions or resolve issues. They worked as a team and delivered a great product. I am very pleased with the home.

Prior to moving in things went well. Once we moved in there were several issues that needed to be addressed and it took a while to get them done. We are still trying to get some things fixed almost three months after moving in. We call Frank regularly and he tells us he will get back to us by end of day, but he never does. When we contact him he does not have answers to our questions and does not seem to be trying to get them.

This being my 3rd home purchase I can only describe this as one of the most horrible experience. There are no words to really describe the process and hopefully this home builder makes some changes to their workmanship, delivery and response to requests.

There were several major issues that my wife an I encountered during the home buying experience. The first involved getting a mortgage, where we clearly were not treated as home buyers. It was made clear that our mortgage would be immediately sold upon closing and what was important was the fitting into the cells on a spreadsheet. We came from Canada and have a home that we are selling, but any Canadian assets were not recognized. I am a dual citizen and spent the majority of my life living and working in the US. My credit score is about as high as you can get, I have never missed a mortgage payment in my life, made a large down payment and have $1 million equity in my Canadian home and a healthy retirement account. There were several blatant discrimination actions on the part of the builders so called mortgage company; national origin, age and gender. During this nine month ordeal, I did not receive final mortgage until two days before closing. This was an extremely stressful time, that took its toll emotionally and physically. As part of our package we purchased a pool option. We have been in the home for three months and only a few days ago our pool was totally functional. On the other hand we love the house, we had outstanding service from our salesperson, design person and a major shutout to our construction manager (clearly a true asset to the company). We are disappointed with the major internal partisanship and politics within the community. As much as we love the product, getting to this point made this one of the most stressful years of my life. If I knew what we were going to have to go through to get to this point we would have made different decisions. ... More

Unfortunately my experience has been less than enjoyable. Our home was over 6 months beyond completion date when we finally closed. We closed on our home mid October. It is now early December and they still have not repaired the problem issues from the check list. Defective floor tiles were installed even though the surface had quite obvious flaws, shower door in guest bath not sealed, water runs all over the floor, shower head in master bath is aimed directly at the door so water splashes out around the door opening, cement floor in garage was "pocked" in several areas from nailing boards together, house was filthy with spider webs in the ceilings, glue all over windows that was never cleaned. No communication, when we do get promises to fix problems nothing happens. Unfortunately we are going to have to seek legal actions to get our home corrected. ... More

Great sales decor constuction project manager

The buying experience is all about them, not you. You have to be your own advocate. Design choices were beyond slim. Trades who worked on the 55+ community home not highly skilled and very little pride in workmanship. KHOV was responsive to fix issues but only the ones they agree need fixing. Hire inspectors, and stay on them. It does eventually get done. If you go into it knowing you will have to re-do things (paint and lighting especially) and you will get only the basics in electrical and fixtures you can’t or don’t upgrade) you won’t be disappointed. Our upgraded kitchen is beyond fantastic. Soft close cabinets and drawers, pull out drawers in every lower cabinet, farm sink, very nice! And can’t beat the plot of land. Beautiful view. Use your salesperson well beyond the sale to be your advocate. Ours was superb! ... More
