Our sales person Dylan was great to work with and helped solve some issues during construction. We had an unlevel fire place from concrete floor not being level, sheetrock separating, faulty fire alarm, and metal siding buckled. So far KHOV has been responsive to our issues. KHOV needs to do a better job of overseeing the construction and use better quality of materials. It's a great neighborhood but quality of house doesn't match the price paid.

Unfortunately we have been very disappointed with the workmanship on our new home. Many sloppy finishes that we are now paying out of pocket to fix as warranty work was just as sloppy as the original finishes. We love the area and neighborhood but the move in experience has been painful.

We went looking for a 55+ gated community in Solano County and found Khovnanian Four Seasons at Homestead. After placing our $5,000.00 deposit, our initial sales representative was "reassigned" to another new community. During the lending process, our primary loan services manager was "no longer" with the company. After we had closed on our home and moved in, our service manager and her assistant was also no longer with the company due to a mass layoff. In short, there was too much turnover and inconsistency, resulting in developing a poor working relationship and inadequate response to home repair issues. Since we purchased a new home in a new gated community, there are no amenities or community center available, yet we are being charged $192.00 a month for Homeowner Association dues.Other buyers had their HOA waived as part of their buying incentives. The worst part of the whole buying process is dealing with the Home owners Association. These people have too much power in this gated community and reserve the right to dictate what home improvements you can do to your home. Initially, I had contacted them by email and just asked questions about having a concrete patio and walkway installed. They opened up a file based on my email questions, and when I didn't provide any further information, they closed the file and sent me a denial letter. I didn't provide any further information because I didn't ask for any bids from any contractors. I again submitted an email to them asking about my denial letter, and again they sent me a denial letter. The third time, I submitted a Request for Architectural Review complete with diagrams, pictures and a proposed bid, and again I was turned down because the Committee felt that my simple design did not comply with City ordinances. I contacted the City of Dixon planners department, sent them an email that I had received from the HOA, along with my Request for Architecture Review. The planner did not see any issues except for building a storage shed within three feet away from the fence. I sent a copy of his findings back to the HOA and resubmitted my Request for Architecture Review, but was promptly denied by the administration person. She then sent me a response email and stated that my finding from the City were in her "SPAM" folder. She then sent my Request to the HOA board for their approval. The HOA finally accepted my Request for Architecture Review, but under certain restrictions that I follow the rules outlined by the City of Dixon, which I had intended to do all along. Needless to say, I am not impressed with the buying experience. There were minor repairs such as the noisy humidifiers in both the master and second guest bathroom constantly running 24-7, (finally the humidifier was replaced on April 6, 2023), the backyard patio is already cracked after only four months ( the service manager says that is normal ), the patio screen door didn't lock properly (fixed), the heating /air conditioning didn't work correctly (no heat in the second bedroom, supposedly fixed, but it is still cold in there, probably because there is no insulation in the ceiling /walls, and other issues such as a loose faucet spigot in the kitchen, damaged header board above the garage door, and improperly secured roof tiles have been addressed and fixed. What is still not addressed is the issue of the construction workers who were building the house next door to me on lot #198 had sprayed cement on my back door and the right side of my house. The cement is already dried and looks ugly, but the service manager says that this issue is closed and no further action will be taken because it is not a home warranty issue. We did not spend over $600,000.00 for a new house with sprayed on cement on it, only to be told that they are not going to fix it. At this point in time, I cannot recommend that anyone purchase a home in this community. There is too much turnover of personnel, lack of responsiveness, poor quality of workmanship and no accountability. Furthermore, the HOA really needs to be looked at - we are paying dues and $100.00 processing fees for services that are not even being provided. Most of my new neighbors in my community (and we have met everyone) agree that the HOA is not responding to phone calls or emails in a timely manner. We all want to know what does the $100.00 processing fee goes to, since we have to do all of the coordination of getting the vendors, contacting the city, etc. I certainly hope that Mr. KHOVNANIAN gets a chance to read my comments. I heard that he was not too happy when our community center didn't have an official ground breaking ceremony, so there is a lot of other things that he probably us not aware of such as speeding construction workers going up and down my street. ... Everything was great on the front end. Sales and design staff very responsive and helpful and continue to be even after we moved in. Wish I could say the same for construction staff. We still have many open items from closing punch list with no follow up. They are not very communicative with us or the trades who show up unscheduled without materials needed to fix any issues. While everyone has been very pleasant to work with, nothing is getting done.

The builder representatives doesn't honor their word. Made promises to return to address issues then stopped coming around. The quality of work done by certain contractors is very poor, i.e., the garage door installation. The company refused to admit that their work was not to standard, therefore, the issues were not corrected. The city inspectors seemed to overlook a lot of quality issues. I would not recommend this builder to anyone based on the people that represent them and the contractors that they hire.

House was not ready but we were rushed to close with false promises. After closing we had to wait two months for missing kitchen cabinets to be installed. The bathroom mirror over one sink was measured wrong and has not been corrected despite several requests. Over 12 windows have deep scratches. The exterior paint is peeling away because the stucco was not primed. The drywall in several areas was poorly installed. The list goes on but it is upsetting to write.

The model we chose suits our lifestyle; it is beautiful. However, many issues were not dealt with prior to closing. Could be the victims of not enough help; however, the quality control was surely missing in this home buying process/experience. For nearly $700K home pricepoint, I would have expected better quality from the trades. Even the windows are subpar. Even now almost 4 months later, the customer service follow up on this side alone is not good. I am still waiting on cabinet fixes and between the customer service center and vendor they cannot get orders right. No timely follow up either. I may escalate this yet. My advice do not close until 100% right (small things at 11 month ok but not the MAJOR!). ... More

Building a home is a stressful situation. If I am to describe our experience I would have to say it was lacking in many areas. The sales group was wonderful. The building portion was the worst I have seen. The craftsmen ship that was allowed to occur was horrendous. The after the sale care has been good. It is hard to keep tabs when contractors don't show up for their appointment to fix shoddy work.

Disappointed with the details for price paid

The experience that we have had so far has been unsatisfactory in my opinion. We closed on the new home over a month ago with outstanding issues that are to be taken care of by KHov. To this point in time they are still outstanding. Quality of products used are average at best.

Should inform clear don’t wait until last time

It was too much stress, KHOV is not a small company, I don't understand how they can keep changing closing dates not knowing that the buyer is coordinating their move with others. When I said I could close by end of month, after spending almost 700K on a house,, they threaten to charge me $500 only to cancel and move the closing date 2 more times! We are not totally dissatisfied, just not as thrilled with our purchase as we expected to be for the money spent.

We we're extremely disappointed the home (after pushing our settlement date back) was not completely finished, nor was it clean. It's not a situation we wanted to be in, and though very disappointed in the readiness and cleanliness of our new home for our final walk-through on the morning of settlement, we could not push our settlement date back again. The impact on us would have been worse than the first delay. We do love our new home, but my husband has made many repairs already, to include installing towel and toilet paper holders and repairing the a bathroom door. The door would not close, so the quality team clearly didn't check it. The bathroom was never 100% completely finished, as it was apparent it was a rush job to get the walls finished and painted (no accessories) once the plumbing and electric was finished a couple days before settlement. The appraisal came in much lower than the sale price, so that increased our settlement charges, which is obviously very disappointing for us. We spent almost $750K on the home, so we expected to get that value in our home, but the quality is nowhere near that and the low appraisal is evidence. ... More

Buyer's Remorse...The juice is not worth the squeeze. Product is not worth the cost and aggravation.

Constant change of Constuction managers left out of town buyers on a lurch

Dawn the sales person and Pam, the selection specialist we’re great. The settlement experience was frustrating and disappointing.

Since these were not normal times, there were supply issues, which delayed getting into the house.

Sales staff unresponsive after we contracted. Construction crew stretched way too thin with so many simultaneous builds. Still waiting for many punch list items to be addressed.

The workmanship is below any reasonable standard of home building. The builder clearly maximizes their profit while cutting corners on construction wherever possible.

I’ve already shared my disappointments but nothing is correcting my concerns

We were very pleased with the quality of the framing and overall construction, but very disappointed with the finishes, attention to detail and poor execution of the appliances, cabinets and trim.

Workmanship could have been better. Sloppy final touches and preparation. Poor communication and follow up to issues by work team.

No attention to detail in the build. Splatter on brand new flooring. Marks on exterior. Damaged cabinetry. Missing appliance manuals. Missing garage door openers. Shower not as promised. The cheap labor they subcontracted shows quite clearly.

K Hov is a Great Choice for the Belle Terre Community. If you choose K Hov for Belle Terre - Be Cautious - For many reasons in this 2020 /2021 experience and not defending K Hov- Your Home experience may be less than you expect as K Hov is facing difficulties to deliver a Quality Product. My home purchase has become a disappointment with K Hov but one that I hope finishes well. TBD
