My building manager was great. Always gave me updates as to what was going on and if I found something that I didn’t think should be there I let him know right away. However, there are a lot of us who have not gotten our patios in nor yards grated nor yards and landscaping in and we are somewhat frustrated as nothing has been said to us as to when this all will happen and this is June now. Communication could be more clear and concise.

Lacking in quality of workmanship. Trades do not take pride in their workmanship.

The closing date was rushed. Because on the of the final walk through prior to closing, the house had not been clean. Some of the Deficiencies that were indentified during the gold key walk through had not been addressed by final walk through. I returned after closing, the house was not cleaned and the garage had not been touched.

We are very happy with our new home. It was completed on time as promised. James the construction manager was very helpful. We would recommend your company to friends.

Our overall experience with K Hovanian was positive, however there were many bumps in the road. The design of the home is terrific and the location / lot selection met our needs. The build process was painful – reasons explained below, but also due to the demand of materials and trades that delayed our completion date by a month. Our construction superintendent Robert did an amazing job of keeping us informed, dealing with issues as they came up and he took a personal interest in delivering a quality home. Robert was one of the best parts of this entire experience. Since we closed on our home, the post-production support process has been great. The warranty team is responsive and every issue we’ve reported – there have been a few but nothing major – has been dealt with in a timely manner. The issues we have with K Hov is with the company as a builder and their mortgage team. First, we experience a ‘’miscommunication’ with our sales rep related to the lot premium for our home, but when the same thing happens to a number of other home buyers, that is not a miscommunication – it is a strategy. K Hov is ridged and inflexible in terms of options and what can / cannot be done prior to and during the build process. Two examples – they use 25 year old technology in their in-wall internet cabling (CAT 5 versus anything better). They would not even discuss upgrading the cabling even when we offered to pay for it. They also install 50 gallon water heaters when tankless heaters are current, much more efficient technology wise and offered in less expensive homes in our area. The financial arm is another topic. We were flat out lied to during our financing process with K Hov Mortgage and our lending officer got into an argument with my wife, who has been a mortgage lender for 15 years. If it wasn’t for the meager incentives offered through their captive finance company, we would have gone with another financial firm. Finally, when we went to sign documents with their captive Title company, we met with a contract notary – no one from the Title company even said ‘hello’ – which should not have been a surprise due to their lack of responsiveness to questions before we closed. Overall we are happy with our new home - we have a beautiful house in a great location. It was much more stressful than it should have been to get to this point. Anyone who contracts with K Hov to build a new home should be prepared to deal with an inflexible builder and a terrible mortgage company. ... More

K. Hovnanian is a great builder in my estimation. I love the homes they build and can recommend them without reservation.

The construction manager was really on top of the process. Always knew what was happening with the construction. Also answered my questions promptly. This is my fifth time building a new home and one of the best experiences.

I’ve worked in real estate for almost 3 decades and KHov is well known. What was surprising was being treated as if we were the only home being built at the time. Everyone was prompt to answer questions and supply any information we requested. Just a great home purchase experience all around. Thanks KHov!

Excellent communication. Khov supply chain is having problems with final items such as missing shutters.

Take your time and ask questions about the final price. The process is broke into multiple phases and each phases comes with additional cost.

Barbara is easy to work with. Drew and Deb are both extremely knowledgeable about the home building process and are very upfront. We felt informed the entire process.

Painting was poorly done. Many missed spots and all over every window frame. Cannot after 6 tries get any window in house remotely clean

Every person we have met with has been courteous and respectful.

Our new home is in a great location and the experience working with the builder was good. We really liked working with the Superintendent throughout the build. He kept us very informed and called us every week once they started building.

We were fortunate to find a Hovnanian house already built and ready to move in. We didn't have to play the waiting game. The house is lovely and room sizes are perfect for our needs. The color scheme is workable, and we love the amount of light in the house. We will enjoy making it our own.

We are very satisfied after one month

Overall, I believe the home buying experience was good. I believe, thus far, that K. Hovnanian is a trustworthy company to do business with. The sales personnel were very good and very responsive to questions and the disbursement of information. We predominantly worked with one particular individual and she was very good and very helpful as we had a lot of questions both before we decided to build and after we had put down a deposit to build. The design center person was also very helpful and informative and was easy to work with. There were some issues that we were a bit disappointed with...we believe that the workmanship that was demonstrated in the models that we viewed, both on site and at another site, was much better than our finished house. There are a lot of finishing issues that we believe could have been much better. As far as the responsiveness to issues, the jury is still out on that one. There have been a few things that have needed to be addressed and they service line has not been all that responsive. In addition, we were supposed to receive a login to be able to report issues to the service center within 30 days of us settling on our home...we have not seen that yet and it has been past the 30 days. ... The KHOV process from start to finish was a very smoothe experience! Our Sales and design teams(Monica B), Design team (Jocelyn R) did a super job in answering questions and assisting us in our selections. Our Construction Manager (James M.)went above and beyond in all phases ensuring all details were followed to a T as well as meeting our construction timeframes. Nothing but top level attention! Thank you all for such a wonderful home building experience. Would definitely highly recommend KHOVNANIAN as your home builder!

They have the main relationship with the appliances company. When there is an issue they should leverage their buying power in order to get results in a timely fashion. Two months later, we still do not have a working oven.

From start to finish I had access to the progress of the build. Andrew our project manager quickly responded to questions or concerns.

Design and layout of the home is very nice. Workmanship looks good for now. At time of closing, home was not up to standard. Floors and carpet was not clean and lots of minor touch ups to be accomplish throughout the house. Trying to schedule work to be accomplished has not been good.

The buikding process was much faster then we expected from contract signing to close ~ 6 months.
