This is my 3rd new home we have purchase and by far the best. Dave my Sales Person was on top of everything that came up and if he did not know the answer he got it. Robert the Project Manager was just on top of everything. When they told me that he would be calling me every 2 weeks I told my wife we will see....well he did and had everything done when he said he would. Finally, it came to the close and walk through I met Tia Churchhill who was very impressive. She wrote down very little and I ask her about it and she told me everything that I had a concern about. When it came for us to get our keys everything was done. I was very impressed with KHOVNANIAN and will tell friends to give them a look when looking for a house. Walk-through with building staff was excellent. Sales team needs to be better. They wanted everything to be for their convenience, not mine. They misspelled my name and members were on travel so there were delays. I felt rushed.

My husband has a great deal of construction experience. He is very impressed with the quality of the construction of our new home. We are both thrilled with our interior and exterior finishes. My sister and brother-in-law have built a new home right across the street! This has been a family affair! From the beginning Lisa helped us so much in the plans and options! Also our construction manager James has been fantastic through this process. Both Lisa and James have been very knowledgeable and understanding with questions and concerns! We rate them 10+!

The entire experience from the sales staff, support staff, builder, mortgage company was outstanding a 10 out of 10 on every level.

Not leaving the sales office without every question being answered. Leaving the buyers confidant they have made the right choice.

Most of the items that needed attention after moving in have been addressed, but we are still waiting on the cabinet people and the blind people. I shouldn’t have to keep calling. Also not happy with our landscaping. We paid for the expensive package, but it doesn’t look even as good as the lesser package that was done next door. I spoke to the construction manager, still waiting. Trying to be patient, but worried I’ve been forgotten.

Positive experience

When Mike was our customer service rep, he was very responsive to warranty issues and getting trade appointments made. Since then they switched our rep to Kris. I have had two warranty issues with her, and both were handled with poor communication. That is why the lower rating in responsiveness to issues.

KHov is very responsive to any issues you may have and keeps you informed during the building process.

My sister, Sharon and I are very happy with our new home and our best advice for new home buyers, is to start early in your planning of the best floorplan that fits your needs. Take advantage of K.Hovnanian's website with the space planner option for your existing furniture. If you do your homework, then your visit to the Design Center will go more smoothly when you meet with the Bill with Home Telecom. You will then know where to place cable/data outlets based on furniture placement. Also helps with meeting with the interior designer, so you will have an idea if additional electrical outlets or light fixtures are needed. If you have your color palette decided, that also helps in selecting finishes. Develop a strong relationship with your construction supervisor….Brent was the best! Always gave a weekly phone call to us in VA with progress updates , which put us at ease since we could not be on site for ourselves. Very helpful at each walk-thru we had and addressed our "punch list" in a timely manner. Can't say enough about his attention to detail! ... More

If you are not a first time buyer in a retirement community with a social club and a HOA you don’t need to read this review. I want to start out by saying we lived in a custom home so my husband and I were caught off guard at the poor quality of some of the finishing products and the quality of the some of the workmanship. I was disappointed in the “designer” and the time she spent with me. She was dismissive and the actual time allotted was too short. When I wanted to change a few thing, well before building even started, I was told no changes can be made but I do understand why there are no changes allowed when the builder is trying to build homes as fast as possible. When I started reading information about the community and builder I was excited at the price of homes. I now understand why the price seemed to be reasonable. I feel the information I read seems to be a bait and switch. We saw the beautiful model home and was amazed what our money would buy in this community. The pool area is beautiful the grounds are beautiful. After making our finishing choices the reality set in and we saw the true cost of the home. Now that we have moved in an example of our frustration with the quality is our master bath toilet needs to be fixed but the explanation that perhaps the sewer line went up hill and there is nothing that can be done, especially since our other toilet works fine, is unreasonable. I confess we were ignorant of the process of the community life. We didn’t understand the difference between the builders, the HOA and the golf and social club but we do now. Every time we ask a question we are told, “that is not our problem you need to talk to...”. As an example we have accept our front yard as is. The plants were half dead and under sized, the gravel was not 2” deep as required by the HOA and our both our mounds looked like an above ground grave. I was actually told that maybe we could get some extra gravel that we could spread on the yard. I didn’t move here to shovel gravel or repair a poorly constructed front yard. Talking to our back yard landscaper he has to use another gravel color to complete the back yard. When I asked him if we could over dress the front yard so it matched the back yard gravel he said that he couldn’t do that-per the HOA rules, and he couldn’t get the front yard gravel due to availability. We were told by a Khov associate that the contract landscaper won’t fix the problems in the yard either. We do loved the way the ranch community is set up with a lot of open areas, the dog park and the green spaces. While we have no intention to sell our house, it has been a frustrating process. Landscaping I think you could do a lot better for the money that I paid the front yard is very sad

The salesperson had a problem with telling the truth. She lied about almost every question we ask. The builder does not inspect homes before a new homeowner takes ownership. We are still finding things that were not installed that we paid for. They forgot to put in a special shower head in the master bath. So now the installers need to rip out the shower wall in order to repair it. Plus we have other problems waiting to be repaired. And we have only been here 31 days

We appreciated the attention to detail and the time spent keeping us updated and informed of the process and progress.

Employees were wonderful. House is made of inexpensive material, ex. Truss roof, no mechanical attic vent, will inevitably lcompromise the life of the roof. compressed plywood. Hot water on demand was a good feature.

KHOV builds beautiful homes!

We ordered a faucet that was to be turned on by motion and contain a turbo feature because the water pressure is not what it is like in the north. Well when we received the kitchen faucet that we paid close to over $700.00 for, we were told that was what we ordered. However it did NOT come with a turbo feature. We have been going back and fourth now for over 5 months with no resolve. This response has mad me very frustrated. We are now thinking of going to corporate unless this review helps our cause.

The entire team was a very responsive and professional. A real pleasure to work with them and the quality of the house is great!

Sales and construction personnel were excellent. The primary negative comment we have is that every time we got used to dealing with a sales person, they were moved by K Hovnanian to another location. Also, we started with a local loan officer. When that person left, instead of replacing him locally, the function was moved to Florida. The daylight savings time differential of 3 hours, made it difficult for timely responses.

There were things in the process that were very good and other things that could be improved upon. 1. Mike is a good sales rep for KHov. He was always accessible. Got back quickly with answers to my questions. He was very helpful when I asked for his opinion on my areas of concerns. Plus he has a great personality to deal with all people he meets. 2. My design person was great. She helped me a great deal in choosing things that matched my wishes and budget. She even scheduled me for a pre-consultation meeting to answer some questions that I had already. I thought if I got my answers ahead of time the design meeting for options would go much more smoothly and they did. 3. Brent my builder was the best. Customer service, quality, responsiveness, great with people were better than I was expecting. Don't lose Brent. 4. Closing went well. Improvement in the Process should include the following: 1. A preliminary consultation at the design center should be promoted. Honestly, if I didn't have the preliminary meeting with Meghan I might have walked away. I needed to see the products and visualize the choices and 1 meeting would not make it for me. Since I'm across country I wouldn't want to make a lot of trips. 2. Multiple items needed repair after move in. Master bedroom vent fan was not even hooked up to an electrical source. This was missed during the first walkthrough inspection. Repair contractors are not available to come in to conduct repair during weekend. My husband and I had to take a couple of days off work to meet their schedule. I was told by the repair facilitator that the contractors would call in first prior to showing up to my house but none of the 3 contractors ever called. Field superintendent was watching every trade and checking their work with a microscope. Nothing substandard would slip by.

Good Morning! From the day I walked into the Khovanian site in Los Banos and met with the Salesman I knew I was home. The quality and value of my home is superb. From Sales, Finance Officer, Final Walkthrough and closing was brilliant. The whole process was well worth my time because in the end I have a lovely home. Potential Buyers are in for a great experience! Thank you all.
