KB offers decent value for the money and shines in its pre move in time. Overall workmanship of initial construction was fairly good although home was not throughly inspected to find errors. One week waiting period between walk through and final acceptance is costly for out of state buyers and KB offers no compensation. Overall I would give them a B+.

The whole process was very smooth with just the right amount of choices along the way. House was delivered on time (during a pandemic, even) but with a few workmanship issues. Resolving these has been ongoing, not due to delays but apparently from corporate KB interfering with the local office. But so far, we love our new house.

Had an issue with the oven. After only a few uses, the starter switch broke. Didn’t have an oven for a week.The shower leaked onto the baseboard due to poor workmanship. The refrigerator was scratched and had to be replaced. Seems as if the trades people are lacking an attention to detail. Too many major or minor repairs. It’s frustrating.

We closed on our new home with multiple punch list items needing to be addressed. The project manager(s) seem to be doing their best to get all the subcontractors back to the house to complete all items to our expectation. I can understand how hard it is to get subcontractors back once the closing occurred, but I wish more could be done. We closed over 60 days ago.

Pressed board kitchen cabinets and vanities, not even wood. Front door fell off one of the kitchen drawers after only 6 wks in the house. No drawers in either vanity cabinets. Refrig door handle falling off. Cheap bathroom fixtures. Kitchen cabinets too far up from the counter top. Can only reach first 2 shelves, others are useless. Just a lot of short cuts.

Buying experience was great. Winnie and Jeff were very responsive and great to work with. Once I moved in, the response was less immediate. I either have had to fix the small concerns myself or continue to wait for them to be fixed. Although I have had a few hiccups, I would say overall it was a great experience.

The issues I have had have all been post move in. The sales and construction process were great. Lee and Byron were always quick to respond. Since move in the customer service has been very difficult to get any responses from.

Build times are longer these days. So plan on at least 9-10 months. The construction was done well and to our specifications.

Be careful when buying one of these houses. The KB reps will do everything in their power to let you know that issues discovered during a house inspection is typical and not something they can fix. There warranty phone number and email is also not reliable and they say they will respond in 24 hours but that has not happened on multiple occasions. In fact, it requires multiple time to call and follow-up with them. Buyers beware.

Elaine who sold the home to me was and has been great! Logan as also and has been awesome too. Everything else has been okay. The communication during construction was mediocre at best. It took longer than anticipated in building and the quality control was not there either. During my first walkthrough prior to closing their were quite a few items that were missed. Also with me being out of town 95% of the time just added more to the confusion of when completion was anticipated. A few items to note are that I am waiting on my garage door panels to be replaced. We have been trying to get our refrigerator replaced or refunded since we paid for it ourselves thru the design studio for 1100.00. It looks second hand and runs loud enough to hear 7 out of 8 hrs. They ordered doors without hearing our side of issue. This has been ongoing before we closed on house, said go ahead and close all issues will be taken care of, at who’s satisfaction. Had a range problem got that solved. Still have issue with cabinet inserts, put on order to replace. Essentially everything we paid extra for has had issues.
