The process of purchasing a home started out great, but turned out to be one of the most stressful experiences ever. Midway through, there were changes in loan officer, with no communication, and no timely updates. Appraisals took extremely long, way longer than usual. The entire process took nearly 3 months. There were many mix ups and lack of communications that caused the deal to nearly fall apart, but in the end it all worked out. There are some opportunities for improvement for sure. The KB staff was helpful and kind, it was just a tough time and third party challenges, but definitely a frustrating experience. Understandable that some of the delays in the process were due to COVID, so some of it was unavoidable. Sales and designing team were good. Bank/Loan processors were terrible, they were not responsive and not helpful. Construction team/Regional Customer Service Manager are not very responsive, and not pleasant to deal with.

Forced us to close even though house construction wasn't finished and 2 months later still didn't fix windows, kitchen cabinets and leaking HVAC. KBHome recommendation for us to use bucket whenever we AC and pray to God leaking doesn't cause electrical damage to HVAC.

Don't trust what you are told, especially the inhouse lender and the sales persons.
