Overall good buy. Material quality is barely average. Upgrades are pricy.

House construction was delayed by 4 months, which is understandable to some extend but it wasn't easy dealing with temporary place to stay and having your mortgage rate lock expire since KB kept sending inaccurate closing dates. The home quality itself is ok. For being a new home I was expecting better quality in terms of finish. To mention a few things: nails sticking out the middle of the carpet, some gaps between floor and wall base, uneven layout of floor tiles that make a room look like its longer on one end than the other. Customer service however is very good, they are responsive even though the work and quality are not great. After speaking with some friends, it seems like they also have not had the best experience with KB when dealing with new built homes. I moved in to a new town home at Metro II @ Comm Hill. The location of the community and floor plan is really unique. These factors led me to make the purchase. Overall I think it was a good decision. I was surprised however by the sub-par quality of workmanship all throughout the house. Several chips and scratches in the wood on doors, cabinets, etc. Paint drops on the floor. Misaligned doors. The list goes on and on. For the money I paid I expected much higher quality.

I heard from my friends that KB homes were very good, When I moved to my new home i realized why they recommended KB homes. The quality of the materials they used is very good. What ever they mentioned in paper they mean it and you can see that when you live in KB home. I definitely recommend to go with KB homes.

This is a great community and am very happy to have purchased a home with KB homes builder.

I wasn't impressed with my sales rep. Buying a new house is a lot of money and I expected top customer service quality (took several days to get a response, did not meet deadlines). Lot of the upgrades are overpriced to the point where it's still cheaper to rip out KB installed finishings and install new ones after closing. Lot of the base finishings is very low quality and that's how they keep prices competitive but get you to pay more to upgrade to something more reasonable. After closing, our After Sales Customer Service representative was also very hard to get in touch with and ignores most of my emails asking for an update. KB subcontracts a lot of the final stages of work (carpet, counters, appliances, etc). In my experience, it was all sub-par (counter overhang turned out to be a underhang meaning the closed drawers extended past the counter edge, holes in shower wall slabs, missing door pins, missing dead bolt screws). KB Home priced their home fairly and their staff guided the entire home buying process smoothly. Their home warranty is exceptional and provides a quick resolution on all the issues. KB Home is the name which you can trust in buying new homes.

My home was delivered to me with substantial wear and tear, and KB insists that things are normal and will not fix all problems before closing. Some issues are just impossible to fix after you've moved in. They also seemed to have used low quality materials--I have windows that do not block sound at all, and a super loud ventilation fan system. To make things worse, my KB Home customer service rep is unresponsive, and does not answer email for weeks. This has been a frustrating experience for me.

We liked our new home a lot. We liked the service provided by KB Home Customer service especially Kevin, he brought the customer service to a whole new level. We are very pleased and happy to own this new home.

this is my first purchase from KB Home. the quality is average and the price is above average. Understood that the overall house-buying market in the bay area is crazy so I don't blame this on KB home. Cannot review on trustworthiness and responsiveness since I've just moved in for couple of days. I'm giving 3/5 just to be able to submit the result.

Moved to new home a month back, no issues with any plumbing, electricity points. Construction quality seems good. Lot of units are still under construction and that causes some disturbance . HOA is very high for the facilities provided. Play area for children can be made better. Few outdoor exercise equipment provided are of no real use, they could have instead provided a gym or second play area for kids. Or rather reduce HOA.
